Sep 18, 2012Recently I have formatted my Usb External Harddisk with exFAT, as I heard of the benefits of it over FAT32. Its an IMATION Drive with 320gb storage. Device Properties: TOSHIBA MK3252GSX USB Device, The problem is that it takes forever to copy files from the drive as compared to when the format was FAT32. Currently, Im trying to backup all my files on my PC and I've been trying to copy out 60gb of Data that I started 10+ hours ago. The wierd thing is the progress bar moves a fraction and then stops for about 5mins before continuing the another fraction.

Jun 20, 2011I have a Dell Inspiron 1012 running Windows 7 Starter SP1 and I've got it hooked up to my Protron 42" LCD screen with HDMI cable. I changed the flicker rate to 70 Hertz without checking the Proton's maximum flicker rate - yeah, that's really SMART - so now I've got an issue with my external display.It worked okay for second but then my laptop screen turned black and the external display reads "Signal Out of Range" (duh, the Protron works only up to a 69.8 Hertz flicker rate, which I SHOULD have checked BEFORE changing it, but what's done is done -_-).Now, when I plug in the HDMI cable, my laptop screen goes to black and the external display still reads that same message. I can't change the flicker rate without seeing the menu on my laptop screen.

Says a weird sound and then sounds like it's charging up somehow, during this Windows lags. It usually happens when I Shutdown my machine. After the process, Windows will shut down immediately. May 22, 2011I am wondering why my Harddisk space on windows 7 keeps decreasing. From 30 Gb of free space to 13Gb. As i had 2 partition. All my downloads are in my second partition while i only store applications like games in the first. However i did not download anything but my free space in the first partition kept decreasing. I tried turning off system restore but only about 1Gb was restored. Is this some system settings with windows 7?

Hard Drive Exceeded Normal Parameter?
Dec 22, 2011When i boot my dell inspiron 530s, i get this message immediately before it begins to boot. " hard drive self monitoring system has reported that a parameter has exceeded it's normal operating range." I had windows vista on the machine before i began getting this error, i tried to reinstall vista but the OS wouldn't install for some reason, it had to do with the hard drive. So i temporarily installed XP which it has no problem with. I really just want to put windows vista back on the machine or windows 7, but neither will install.

I tried USB adapter and where it normally loads it just says it's installed but shows up in device manager. Like thw tealtek nic with yellow triangle on it. If I try an update driver it returns "parameter is incorrect" message. Its not connected and the is no IP using ipconfig. Jan 21, 2012I cannot get windows to update. I have used windows update agent fix it tool, but it always gets an error when trying to run it. I have tried turning off all firewalls and AV programs, but still cannot update. When going to services.msc, it shows update service as stopped. when I try to start it, I get the message:
'Windows could not start the windows update service on local computer. Error 0x80070057: the parameter is incorrect.'
When I click check updates under the windows update program, it says cant update due to service not running. I have checked my ipv6 and ipv4, and both are setup to automatic I have tried using tdsskiller to ensure no rootkits are present, and I'm clean. I ran AV scans and spyware scans, but all come up clean. I have ran system file checker, and chkdsk, but both were fine.
