i have recently created my own windows 7 copy using this tutorial how to create windows 7 bootable dvd or iso by britec - Internet which worked greati then used the disk to format and re install windows 7 on my laptop, which worked fine.

I want to sync them both (at the motherboard/cpu level) to make them work together, is there any way to do achieve this, with these machines? (And im not referring to just file sync, i mean having the clock, cpu, motherboard, memory, on both computers working together as if it were one machine.)
I cannot get Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to work on two computers running Vista Home Premium (32 bit) one a laptop and one a desktop. It ran fine on my old PC running XP pro. What could it be?

I have finally figured out through some internet research, how to get their computers to access mine. However, when I go from my computer to theirs, I get asked to enter a network password. All of the password protection is off. It's saying something I'm not understanding underneath the user name and password request boxes. It says Domain: and has my PC name on it. How can I get the access to go on their PC's?

The CPU is compatible with the motherboard, I check and the Video card works on another computer so does everything else. So everything works and has been tested except the new AMD 965 CPU. So can I use the same key with the installation on the desktop on the netbook without it causing issues? In other words, I want to install it on both machines. New computer above and my previous computer have Windows Updates for the same file with no KB number. Both computers have tried to install the update numerous times but fail. It says the file is Windows Internet Explorer 9. I get an error code 9C48 for which I find little info The new machine was put together April 11 and shows IE9 being installed on that date and I am already running IE 9.
There are about 40 computers on the LAN and all of them are Windows 7. AC DC is Windows Server 2008. So I wonder if it is possible to install the update (only this update) to all client computers on the network automatically?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a neighbor who has an HP Pavilion dv4 running Win 7. The warranty is only 1 yr. and, of course, the HDD went belly up at <2 years. HP sent him recovery disks for both Win 7 (64-bit) and the recovery driver disk. The Windows recovery disks appear to work fine; took over 1.5 hours to put the system back, but when he puts the driver disk in (and I tried this, too), the head sounds like it's repeatedly searching for something, can't find it, so after 2-3 minutes, just stops. I then told it to "skip" the driver disk and restart.

Programs run slow and whenever we turn the computer on from sleep mode,it usually takes 30 seconds or so to get anything requiring an internet connection to fully work. They look right, they're still the same size, if you go to properties it still shows them as .avi files, but they won't run.Is there someway that I can repair these files? I have tried to reinstall and repair the HDD but the disc fails to recognize my HDD (Western Digital Scorpio Black 500 GB). My HDD is Basic, has 3 primary partitions and 1 extended (3 logical). I built the PC yesterday and realised that I'd left my external DVD drive at my university accommodation, I'm at my parents house for christmas break so that's a few weeks left. I can't really wait that long so I used my parents laptop (which I'm posting from now) to turn the disk into an .iso and use the microsoft USB utility to make a USB stick that i could install from.
However when I tried the install gets to 'installing features' and gives 'windows cannot install required files' error code 0x80070570 I looked the code up on google which sent me to a lot of threads here, so far I've tried:
Taking all but 1 stick of ram out and the graphics card. Reseting the bios to default Installing again without rebooting after error. using cmd to select the right partition
