Just acquired a set of Astrun headphones which I plugged into the front pink and green headphone whatchercallits with no sounds coming through. I have surround sound speaker system but haven't plugged in the speakers today.
View 1 RepliesI just recieved a computer that I purchased yesterday and everything was working fine on it until I went to go plug in headphones. I plugged them in using the front jack and I got this whining hissing sound. I tried using the back jack and the sound went away. Another problem i'm having is regardless of what jack i'm using is that whenever I plug the headphones my speakers don't turn off and sound goes though them instead of the headphones unless I set the headphones as the default device.

I don't have any sound on laptop's internal speakers but i can hear in headphones.In PLAYBACK DEVICES headphones are detected as speakers and when i unplug them sound automatically turns to SPDIF- no sound on internal speakers.
If a make a sound test (with headphones pluged in) whith Quadraphonic selection i can hear FL in my left headphone ,FR in my right headphone,RL in left internal speaker and RR in right internal speaker.
I got a headset for my birthday and it is a sennheiser so it is pretty good quality so I want to get the most out of it. I currently have realtek installed on my pc as it came with it and when I plug in the green plug into the green jack I select headphones and pink into pink and select mic. Then when I open windows sound card manager it is showing my headphones as a speaker. Am i doing this right? I tried plugging the green plug into green and selecting line out aswel but there was no sound. Can you guys give me any suggestions of what i should be doing to get prime settings for this headset (even if it is off onboard sound?) I have provided a screenshot aswel as audio on pcs for some reason confuses the hell out of me especially realtek.
View 8 Replies View Related[code] So I bought a new computer not too long ago and I've had some issues with my headset and whatnot. I have a ASUS Xonar DX sound card with an optic fibre cable for my Logitech Z-5500 system and they worked just fine with it.However, when I bought my headset (Steelseries 7H Fnatic, normal non-USB) I had issues. When I plugged them into my motherboard it couldn't find them. And when I tried to plug them into my Xonar card, people I was skyping with could hear my sounds (videos I watched etc) even though I had earplugs. So I removed the card and decided I'd go with the normal drivers etc. So I checked ASUS website and got the drivers.I installed the drivers (Xonar drivers uninstalled clean before) and it asks me to reboot. I reboot and I get the message: "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." from the system tray. I run dxdiag and no sound card is detected (it's just empty where there should be driver names etc). In the control panel there is no Realtek option etc. When I check the folder it only has 2 folders:Drivers and InstallShield. They contain files named RtlUpd64 (application), USetup.iss and the InstallShield contains Rtkupd64 (application).
I uninstalled/reinstalled and rebooted etc several times but I never get it in the control panel or the system tray. BIOS etc are the lastest for my motherboard, and I never had this issue before. In BIOS the settings are to HD audio. I'm pretty sure I haven't screwed up the assembly of the computer, because I've been building my own for a very long time. In the control panel I can currently see "Digital Audio (HDMI)" 2 through 5 (2,3,4,5) and they're not plugged in it says. On recording there is nothing.
I just bought a pc, windows 7 32bit. I tried to use my headphones but couldnt hear any sound, also tried speakers still no sounds. The green bar goes up on the volume control tho. I have tried downloading some drivers, but they didnt work.
theres some audio ports at the back of the pc and at the front. both dont work.

I plugged in headphones and they work fine, i never had a problem in Vista. I have install the latest Realtek 223 codecs and still no joy, I'm in the middle of trying some older versions but does anyone else have any ideas?
All the drivers are working and windows is detecting everything just fine, I can even look under the volume adjustments and see the sound being produced. But I am getting no output to my speakers! I ordered a Dell Studio 540 refurb and when it arrived I noticed the analog inputs/outputs weren't recognized in the realtek audio manager. So yesterday I bought these quadrophonic speakers from a friend. The problem is, that only front right is working (everywhere- in test, windows sound, music, games etc.)... I thought that the other speakers might be bad, switched them but no- now when the FR speaker is the different one, it is still working and the others are not... I plugged the green wire in the green socket, the black one (rear) in the black socket, confirmed it in the realtek manager (front speakers, rear speakers)... I tried setting it to other mods (5.1, 7.1), it�s the same, only front right speaker is working... I downloaded the newest driver (2.52 or whats the newest one) both from gigabyte and realtek...When I plug the green wire in my notebook headphones socket, both speakers work ok (I have Windows 7 ultimate on my notebook to, but the sound card is not realtek hd)...

It is very annoying. I still get sound, although now after trying to troubleshoot it, Vent tells me Direct Sound can't be enabled because it can't find a driver. Which of course is even more annoying.

It shows all of the ports as disconnected except for the Digital Audio out.I tried updating the BIOS to the new .CAP format but with no success.
