I have a realtek internal microphone, 2 days ago it worked, now it doesn't.I tried to make a call from my computer and the other individual couldn't hear me, so I opened my sound recording software to test my mic and it didn't work.I checked my settings and they all make it seem like my mic is working.

is does anyone have any idea if there is another fix for this. I'm using the latest driver from realtek althouh i let windows try and fix it and it reverted back to the previous version. if anyone knows of a driver package that works for sure that would be great.
Have been trying to download the HD audio codecs and it won't go there it just flickers then goes back to the Googled screen.

I ordered a Dell Studio 540 refurb and when it arrived I noticed the analog inputs/outputs weren't recognized in the realtek audio manager. It wouldn't notice any devices plugged into either the front or the back panel. It did recognize the HDMI and Digital inputs.

So yesterday I bought these quadrophonic speakers from a friend. The problem is, that only front right is working (everywhere- in test, windows sound, music, games etc.)... I thought that the other speakers might be bad, switched them but no- now when the FR speaker is the different one, it is still working and the others are not... I plugged the green wire in the green socket, the black one (rear) in the black socket, confirmed it in the realtek manager (front speakers, rear speakers)... I tried setting it to other mods (5.1, 7.1), it�s the same, only front right speaker is working... I downloaded the newest driver (2.52 or whats the newest one) both from gigabyte and realtek...When I plug the green wire in my notebook headphones socket, both speakers work ok (I have Windows 7 ultimate on my notebook to, but the sound card is not realtek hd)...

View 1 Replies View RelatedA month ago, I got my brand new, very nice Aurora R4 Alienware computer. A week after that the Realtek HD Audio Manager stops working every time I start my computer. It is very annoying. I still get sound, although now after trying to troubleshoot it, Vent tells me Direct Sound can't be enabled because it can't find a driver. Which of course is even more annoying.

I have a software application which has a facility to automatically call Windows Desktop Search and pass a search parameter to it. This works fine on XP machines which have WDS installed
For example, you just run this command and WDS will search for every file associated with 'ref123':
"C:Program FilesWindows Desktop SearchWindowsSearch.exe" /url "search-ms://query=ref123"
Now how can I do something similar in Windows 7?
Since Windows Search is not a component part of the OS, it is not longer installed in C:Program Files and instead now consists of 3 different exes which are located in the System32 folder:
SearchIndexer.exe
SearchProtocolHost.exe
SearchFilterHost.exe
Anyone know how this can be done?
I'm having trouble getting the Phone Dialler to do what I want it to. I'm trying to get it to prefix all UK mobile numbers (i.e. numbers beginning 07) with the access code 18185. My latest attempt is to save the number in Outlook Contacts in the format (07) 970 111231, and to create a dialler rule for "area code" 07 which dials 18185 plus the area code. This seems to be dialling the access code correctly since it's going to the right service provider, but the service provider is then telling me that the number dialled is incorrect. If I dial the number manually (i.e. if I dial 1818507970111231) then it works fine.How do I tell exactly what Windows Dialler is dialling? Is there a log file of similar?

It shows all of the ports as disconnected except for the Digital Audio out.I tried updating the BIOS to the new .CAP format but with no success. It is genuine - at least I bought it from Amazon and paid �141 for it so that - to me - means it's genuine. It may not be but neither Amazon nor MS will take any responsibility for it not being genuine so I've given up with them both. I think that the issue arises because of hardware changes I've made. Oh - yes, I've lost the box with the key on it too.I use this PC very little and when I first first got the black screen and messages after I installed a larger hard drive and reinstated the drive image from an Acronis backup. I stupidly forgot to reinstate the drive signature. Then it happened again when I changed the ITX motherboard.Every now and then it gives me the "black screen" treatment. I fix it by restoring a drive image and turning off Windows 7 updates.If the damned thing is told not to call home then it shouldn't should it? It seems to give me a month or two and then goes psycho on me like HAL9000!

I would much rather use just one because i switch between my Logitech surround sound speakers and headphones (that i plug directly into the logitech speaker and not directly into my realtek audio device via the back of the computer) and so i am always having to switch settings around whenever i switch between just speakers or headphonesDoes anyone have some experience with this or knows the best ways to use both of these audio managers or just one? Its rather annoying. Ive thought about just removing THX so i only have to deal with one, but it does seem to make a difference but it could also just be ignorance.On a side note... i dont suppose there is anyway for realtek to recognize that i have inserted a headset into my speaker's headphone jack and adjust its settings.also after updated my realtek driver, i can no longer get the audio manager icon to appear in my notification bar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have no sound after installing windows 7. 7 realizes that I have a realtek ac'97 but when I look at it on the device manager it says it has some sort of problem. When I inspect the driver through the properties window I see (Code 10) as the problem.
Things that I have tried and have NOT worked:
- Uninstalling/ removing from the device manager and let 7 reinstall it
- download the latest driver from realtek labeled R2.31 (dated 2009-08-24)
- downloaded Realtek driver R2.27 (dated 2009-06-22)
- downloaded additional older drivers
- downloaded the VIA Vinyl AC'97 Drivers
- Checked the HP site for drivers
Obviously none of those things have worked. Running googly searches I have seen that there are others that are experiencing the same problem but no solutions so far (that i can find). I was wondering if someone was familiar with this problem or had found a solution.
For some unknown reason realtek drivers can't detect my mic and thinks that I am using speakers (I'm using headset) no idea how to fixed this , google whole day couldn't find anything , tried uninstalling , installing new drivers , tried windows drivers no luck, here's a screenshot maybe someone could help me out , I tried out Game booster software and defragmented my c:/ hard then I noticed the problem with my mic.
