Headphones/Headsets Not Working?
May 21, 2012The speakers of my laptop are working properly but when i use headphones then it doesn't work. I checked the playback devices but headsets/headphones are not in the list, there is only speakers.

May 12, 2009I have just done a fresh install from vista to Windows 7 7100. All drivers are installed and working fine but I dont seem to be getting any sound out of my internal laptop speakers.
I plugged in headphones and they work fine, i never had a problem in Vista. I have install the latest Realtek 223 codecs and still no joy, I'm in the middle of trying some older versions but does anyone else have any ideas?
No Sound Output To Speakers / Headphones - All Drivers Working
Feb 13, 2009All the drivers are working and windows is detecting everything just fine, I can even look under the volume adjustments and see the sound being produced. But I am getting no output to my speakers! I've read through a lot of forums and tried both xp and vista drivers along with the recommended 7 drivers, all work but I am getting no output through my integrated speakers.
I am running a Toshiba u205-5002 with a ACPI x86 motherboard and soundmax it just not working for me. I am at a loss of what to do. I don't get any program sounds whatsoever, no startup, nothing. All device managers say the devices are working properly and it detects the speakers just fine. I am also not getting any output to my headphone jack either. I am using the 32 bit 7000 build...

May 28, 2012I wondering if anyone could help me, when I'm playing a game on the pc I would like the sound to come from the speakers but use the front jack to plug in my headset and talk to friends on skype.My problem is the sound from my game comes through my headset as well and it's very annoying! Also if someone else is on the pc and i'm on a skype call I have to ask them to mute the sound on the pc.
I have Realtek Hd Audio Manager installed and it recognizes the headset when I plug it in but in control panel under sound it doesn't,it thinks my headset is speakers.I've searched and searched for a solution, apparently older versions of Realtek had better options for controlling jacks,the one I have even though it's all updated is very basic with no options to change any settings to do with jacks.
Windows Recognize My Headphones As Speakers
Sep 23, 2009when I plug my headphones to the back panel, windows recognize them as speakers, and by that gives lower sound and it really disturbs in gaming. I tried downloading realtek audio manager but it didn't seem to help either.
Windows default is Front panel = headphones, Back panel is headphones. but my front panel does not work! any advice how to change the speakers to headphones? It's very important!
I succeed to fix the front panel, but even then I'm not getting any headphones mode. I went into PlayBack devices and I didn't find headphones mode :O what am I suppose to be doing?

Aug 23, 2011I am really stuck, basically what is happening is I am getting a crackling noise from my speakers and headphones on windows 7, it is not my sound card as I use a separate usb card for the headphones meaning this cant be a problem with the drivers as they are both using different ones right? Windows 7 was basically my version of vista, vista worked perfectly for me, I just don't know what is going on and it has me annoyed as i invest a lot in my audio just to have the os crap on it.

Nov 2, 2011I got a headset for my birthday and it is a sennheiser so it is pretty good quality so I want to get the most out of it. I currently have realtek installed on my pc as it came with it and when I plug in the green plug into the green jack I select headphones and pink into pink and select mic. Then when I open windows sound card manager it is showing my headphones as a speaker. Am i doing this right? I tried plugging the green plug into green and selecting line out aswel but there was no sound. Can you guys give me any suggestions of what i should be doing to get prime settings for this headset (even if it is off onboard sound?) I have provided a screenshot aswel as audio on pcs for some reason confuses the hell out of me especially realtek.

I bought a cheap USB bluetooth dongle to enable my PC to connect to my bluetooth devices and these headphones don't work. My PC pairs fine with my phone so I don't think anything is wrong with the USB. It discovers the headphones when I try to add a bluetooth devices and recognises them as headphones but when I go to add the device I get this error: "Adding the device failed resulting in an unknown error. The reported error code is:0x80004005." I've had a look and I've read a few things about Windows 7 not supporting A2DP but I don't really understand what to do about it.

Sep 26, 2011just got my new pc hooked up. and everything is working fine. except the volume. i can hear but its not very loud. i tried going into the settings but nothing i do makes it louder. it dont have a sound card. but it still has realtek hd audio. i even went in that settings but i didnt see any place to where i can boost the volume.

Sep 30, 2009I have Windows 7 64 bit and when I boot up windows without headphones plugged in, the sound works fine through the speakers but when I plug in the headphones they do not work. If I unplug the headphones, the sound starts coming out of the speakers. I have tried manually switching devices but that didn't work either and if I try to adjust volume the sound mixer crashes.
I just have integrated audio (device manager lists it as High Definition Audio Device and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC).
If I plug in the headphones and then start the laptop, the sound works fine through the headphones.
Any info on what may be going on?
Headphones Don't Work
Oct 4, 2009I have one hard drive that I multi-boot with XP and 7. Headphones work fine. Other hard drive is just Windows 7 and headphones don't work (speakers work fine). I have tried unplugging and plugging them in: search for new hardware and rebooting many times, all with no luck.
When I go into "sound" in control panel and unplug my speakers it tells me that there is no audio device attached (this doesn't happen on my dual boot drive) and when I try to add a new device, it searches endlessly for new devices and not only never stops, but never finds any devices.
Don't know if it matters since all of my hardware works when I use the dual boot drive, but I have a Dell XPS 720 aand an X-fi PCI sound card although the headphones plug into the front panel of the computer, not the sound card (yes I tried plugging directly into the sound card).

Nov 3, 2009Yesterday I did the full install of windows 7 from XP, I ran the windows update and recieved an update for my realtek sound card along with about 8 other updates, my speakers work fine from the rear jack but when i plug in my headphones into the front jacks nothing happens i dont even get a recognition of them being plugged in and there is no headphones icon in the playback devices tab, it shows the speaker icon and the Realtek hi defintion audio device icon only.
Can anyone please give me an idea as to how I can enable my headphones through the front jacks?
Use 2 Headphones At The Same Time

But since I installed Windows 7 I can't use both of them at the same time, instead I can only hear sound out of the first one that was plugged in. I don't want seperate audio coming from them, I want the same, so I don't see why there is a problem.

Jan 14, 2013I guess I should start by saying I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x86.I got a pair of LG HBS700 Bluetooth Headphones for Christmas and couldn't wait to pair them up to my Windows 7 Home Theater PC so I could watch movies after my wife has gone to bed w/o disturbing her.My first problem was I had no bluetooth adapter for the HTPC so I went and purchased a Targus Bluetooth 4.0 Bluetooth Adapter.Thought I had it all squared away. I installed the latest drivers for the Bluetooth Adapter I had purchased and was on my merry way.Went to the control panel, choose to add a bluetooth device after putting the headset in pairing mode and much to my dismay, Windows 7 can't seem to find the headset... I know the head set works because I'm able to pair it with my cell phone.

I had not used my desktop for one week due to some problem of too much dust accumlating in the machine. Due to this the system would not power up. After the dust was removed, system powers up but i now get this problem with sound. Before this everything was fine. The speakers work fine on the laptop.I installed the drivers from the motherboard driver disc. I am using a gigabyte board (GA-G31M-ES2L).I have installed the drivers directly from the gigabyte website for my motherboard as well as from the realtek website.Also updated bios online from gigabyte server. But none of these methods causes sound to be restored.Theres no exclamation mark by the audio drivers in Device Manager. I have removed the audio drivers and after a restart, i still get the "no speakers or headphones are plugged in" error on the speaker icon.In device manager after restarting the system, i get the "high definition audio" device listed under "Sound, video and game controllers".Now i am wondering there is something wrong with the motherboard.
