A couple of days ago, I noticed my screen started flickering randomly. Nothing really changed to my computer. I have uploaded a video which you can see right here: [URL]
I've tried quite a few things such as completely renewing my drivers and such. The video shows the flickering on Facebook but it happens a lot more then just on Facebook.
been awhile since i been here but im back sadly and worried...So ima explain best i can what i did that maybe caused the BSOD. First off my cpu is OC but barely and no voltage changes and has been that way for 3 or so months. By default it runs at 3.8Ghz and i just OC it to 4.0Ghz and its been running that way fine for months and its made to be OC way more so i highly doubt its that. 2nd. I do have dameon tools and i see alot of ppl say that can cause it but again, its been on pc 4 ever and never had no issues with it and it rarely gets used but it still does get used here and there.3rd. I installed some codecs yesterday to try to get sony vegas to read a video and i probably installed 3 different codecs and some were named the same and it was the coded for a h264 or something like that, i already uninstalled that.
4th. No major changes have been made to pc, no recent windows updates, program installs or nothing has been done. Only thing i did most recently yesterday was upgraded a widget for reading GPU and its called GPU meter.5th. Finally and im scared this might be the issue is i noticed on sony vegas ( video editing program ) that it likes to max out all my cores and i noticed the temps reached 90-94 on my cpu which really scared me but ive only used this program twice but i was thinking maybe it was damaging my cpu but not sure.The last thing i was doing when it BSOD was i had a video uploading to facebook and firefox was open and a little dialoge box telling me how far video was done and apparently it got finished and i went to get drink and came back and BSOD was up and the pc didnt auto restart like it did before, had to force shutdown and restart.
I thought I had this problem fixed but I guess not. My computer will randomly turn off (as if I unplugged it) at different times. I have had it done twice in the last hour I tried removing RAM in case that was the problem NO CHANGE. I bought a brand new power supply yesterday because I thought my old one was bad. It is a thermaltake 600 watts, which is more than enough to run this PC. A few days before that I got a new motherboard from the manufacturer. I am literally stumped, the only other thing I can think of is if my power switch is getting stuck. I have no idea how to replace or rewire a switch though besides getting a new case.

I am currently attempting to play Warcraft III but the screen flickers every 15 seconds. The game has been reinstalled successfully, including appropriate updates, screen resolution, and refresh rate.
Nothing fixes the flickering and it is a little annoying. Can anyone help me out or suggest some possible solutions?

3 days ago, I started getting these 'flickering' pop ups at the top left hand corner of my screen. Some are whole ads and others are just bits and pieces like a 'puzzle'. They are non-stop and especially when I am on my AOL 'Welcome/home page'. I can hardly read what is displayed on my left screen.

I have just installed Civilization 4 and when it loads the screen flickers blue while the movies are playing and then when its on the main menu it flickers but not a blue screen just its all weird.
I can remember last week Windows Update updated my SIS mirage 3 graphics driver and i have had windows 7 installed for about 2 weeks now.

i have an asrock nf6g vsta (built in vga), the built in vga works fine but my 8600gt displays a black flickering screen in vga mode and dvi (it sometimes comes up with a fraction of the top part of the screen but it is flickering)
when i have tried both out (onboard and 8600), i have disabled the other display adaptor so there shouldnt be conflict about them both running at once
i have previously had 7 installed with no problems with this card, but hard drive failiure leaded to a new drive and now this error. my display is a samsung 2232bw too.
Lately my girlfriend has been experiencing some flickering when connecting her laptop to my TV using a VGA cable or using HDMI. I know it's not the TV or the cables, since using my laptop (and others) worked fine.I updated her display drivers. She doesn't have a dedicated graphics card -- just one of those integrated ones -- but has never had a problem before. I'm not really sure what more to do for troubleshooting

I'm on Windows 7 (7600) Ultimate and up until about a week ago everything was working pretty good, but now applications exit full screen mode on their own.It seems to be totally random, I'll be sat watching a movie in Media Player Classic (or WMP/VLC) and it'll just exit from full screen, at no particular time, for no reason that I can find. It does the same thing if I have iTunes playing (with Visualizer) in full screen mode.As far as I'm aware I haven't changed anything or installed any new software around the time it started happening.
I'd perform a system restore and see if that would help...if "Windows 7 Manager" hadn't deleted them all! I don't have a screensaver so I it's not that triggering the full screen exit.Also, I have to use the mouse before the app will respond, I can't simply use Alt+F, not until I've clicked the mouse.
one day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy computer has had problems starting up. On some occasions, I will get to the Welcome screen, and it will just sit there as long as I keep the computer on. Sometimes, it will get past the Welcome screen only to get to a black screen with no desktop or toolbar. To get it to work, I have to start the computer in safe mode and then restart it. I thought it was a virus, so I did a scan with my antivirus (Avast) but it did not detect anything.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm have a "random" crash, that occurs at different times, sometimes when in IE, othertimes in Word, and other times when doing nothing! Or simply don't initialize. Sometimes the computer crashes but maintain the screen, only freezes all. Other times the BSOD comes. When system re-starts, try the "initialization recovery", but nothing. I have installed (formated) the Windows 2 times (last this week) , it's a fresh install, Windows 7 retail and updated to SP1, x64. Drivers are all updated and all devices have their drivers correctly installed. It's a clean system, with Avira (antivirus) and no overclock or something like. Normal use. I used memtest86 for 10 hours and all it's ok.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn the last few weeks I've had random Black Screens Of Death. It can happen (most of the time) while playing a game, but it has happened while the PC was idle (rare) and just now it happened as I was attempting to refresh the Win 7 performance index. Most of the time, the screen goes black (complete video signal loss) and I have to hard reset. On the rare occasion it will go black, then after a while crash and dump. The last minidump file I got is included here. It seems fairly obvious that the issue is video related but I can't tell if it's the ATI drivers or a 3rd party driver causing havok with them.I've been trying, with zero success, to get some Driver Verifier output. Once I set Driver Verifier to check the 3rd party drivers it bluescreens during the Windows 7 splash screen and then reboots and loops. What I did do was hit F8 during one of the loops and stopped it from rebooting on error so I could capture the detail of the bluescreen. It's as follows:

I can't tell if this issue is related to my black screen issue.I think the issue is driver related but can't prove it at this point and I'm having difficulty interpreting the addresses above.I've run memtest for a couple of hours and no errors came up.

Almosi every day 3 or 4 times a day i would get a completely blank dislplay and then the machine would shut down. There were no critical errors that i could find.So i installed Ubuntu 12.04 on the same machine with no changes at all. Ubuntu 12.04 is very resource intensive. After 48 hours of running not one crash , blank screen, or any other major problem.I had the same windows 7 problem on my self built and the dell gx280 i had it installed on. Same problem completely different machines.I do not think i will be going back to windows , as the experience stated above explains windows 7 is still in need of a lot of development work. When i ran win95 second edition was the last time i have experiences with windows like i have had with windows 7.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi've had this before but can't remember what i did to stop it.it is exactly like you pull the dvi/hdmi lead out of monitor/gpu everything still working i.e. if playing video on Internet it carries on playing just no picture.i think it was something to do with intel's built in gpu, but i have disabled it everywhere i can think of bios, device manager etc.can anyone through some light on this please as it's startingto annoy me now

View 5 Replies View Relatedi would leave a laptop i have over night and use it the very next morning without having to loggon to it again , interesting enough when i leave it unattended often i get the loggon screen showing at random times - knowing that i do not get logged out from account - when left unattended , here are the steps i checked to insure i am not being hacked :
1 - avg internet security business edition 2012
2 - screen saver is checked where it would not put log in screen back on resume
3 - checking that allow remote assistance and remote desktop disabled and yet i still get this random event , any thoughts to how it might be generated or what to check ?
Building new pc and I am getting random blackscreens. Some times before windows7 starts sometimes hours after windows has beeen running. My mobo is ta760gm2 with athlonx2 4850, corsair tx750, ocz fatality 2x2gb, velociraptor 74gb hd and wd caviar black 1tb hd. CPU never gets over 46c I have tryied reinstalling the os several times and got many updates completed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing some freezes with my windows 7 ultimate, basically the mouse and the keyboard freeze and I have to manually shut down the PC, it only happen when I'm at windows or when the screen is automatically turned off, the strange thing is that when I'm gaming it never freeze, actually I played BF3 yesterday around 3 hours with max settings and it didn't happen. I don't know if this is related but I've noticed that firefox is been running slow compared to the past (after I moved to the 280.26 driver and now to the 285.62) and there was a java application opened when the freezes occurred (jdownloader). The hardware is all brand new except by the D hd drive (windows is installed in the other one) which had some kind of problem, here are my specs:

I recently started getting this problem where my pc [desktop] crashes and restarts for itself. then sometimes i get the following message

i'm not sure if its the same everytime but this is what i got on the last occasion.
i taut that the problem was with the amd catalyst suit, 12.8-which i upgraded to when it released- because sometimes upon restarting i did not get any display signal from the video card on my f22 aoc monitor. i did uninstall this driver and installed an older version [11.8 i think] and got an ease up on the problem. no restarting as regular as before. only during games.
I sent my computer out for repair under warranty for an LCD display replacement and it came back with a random white screen on boot. It is random and is not connected to anything previously attempted. 85% of the time it is OK, then out of no where when I boot it up white screen.

I have recently done a fresh install and ever since then I'm getting random screen freezes (it never happened before fresh install)... the mouse, keys, ctrl alt delete etc.wont respond and the only way out is to hold down power and restart.I thought it could be a RAM problem but I have checked with memtest with no problems found. I have also scanned with malwarbytes antimalware with nothing found.
