Random Blue Screen For No Reason Today, Dump And System Report Inside?
Jun 22, 2012been awhile since i been here but im back sadly and worried...So ima explain best i can what i did that maybe caused the BSOD. First off my cpu is OC but barely and no voltage changes and has been that way for 3 or so months. By default it runs at 3.8Ghz and i just OC it to 4.0Ghz and its been running that way fine for months and its made to be OC way more so i highly doubt its that. 2nd. I do have dameon tools and i see alot of ppl say that can cause it but again, its been on pc 4 ever and never had no issues with it and it rarely gets used but it still does get used here and there.3rd. I installed some codecs yesterday to try to get sony vegas to read a video and i probably installed 3 different codecs and some were named the same and it was the coded for a h264 or something like that, i already uninstalled that.
4th. No major changes have been made to pc, no recent windows updates, program installs or nothing has been done. Only thing i did most recently yesterday was upgraded a widget for reading GPU and its called GPU meter.5th. Finally and im scared this might be the issue is i noticed on sony vegas ( video editing program ) that it likes to max out all my cores and i noticed the temps reached 90-94 on my cpu which really scared me but ive only used this program twice but i was thinking maybe it was damaging my cpu but not sure.The last thing i was doing when it BSOD was i had a video uploading to facebook and firefox was open and a little dialoge box telling me how far video was done and apparently it got finished and i went to get drink and came back and BSOD was up and the pc didnt auto restart like it did before, had to force shutdown and restart.

tdll.dll He gave me the option of taking a dose of Startup Repair, which he recommended, or to just try things normally and maybe it would work. I chose to take the dose.
It was scary at first i admit... at first i was told that this could take up to an hour to fix and take affect, even restarting my system a few times possibly.
All in all to my delightment, the dose took less than a minute to take affect and fix my blues...... well, so far atleast

Dec 4, 2011I've been working on renaming all my music for the past few weeks using a program called Tag&Rename. I have over 350 Gbs of music so it's been quite the undertaking but I've made a fair bit of progress. Until all of a sudden in the middle of renaming some albums today I was shocked to find that all my albums from A through S were just...not there anymore. All my work had just vanished for no apparent reason. I had just deleted a redundant music folder when this happened and thought that maybe I had somehow deleted more than I asked for but there's no trace of the folders anywhere not even in the recycle bin. I did a complete search of my computer looking for Bob Dylan just to see if I had somehow put all the files in some other folder by mistake but no luck. So I downloaded a bunch of free undelete software packages and scanned my hard drive and they couldn't even find the missing files. It's as if they just vanished. Is there any software out there that can help me in my search, or does anyone know what could have happened? I don't mind paying up to a hundred bucks if I can just get my lost work back. I obviously need a program that will maintain my original folder structure since renaming files and folders and changing my folder structure is all I've been doing. I have most of the music backed up on another drive but it's all mistagged and disorganized. I really don't want to start all over again.

Jun 22, 2012For the last few weeks I have been unable to put my computer to sleep for transport or other general reasons. When I do it appears to be fine but when I open it up and tell it to wake up then it either comes on and blue screens straight away or it comes on as though it's going to work fine but there is a spike in CPU usage (according to the desktop gadget) and then in the next few minutes it either freezes or blue screens.If I shut the computer down instead of putting it to sleep then it is fine booting up, however, when it tries to automatically restart if it has been put on sleep then it sometimes fails to start and suggests launching start-up repair. If I select start normally then it usually is ok but if I turn the computer off for a few seconds and then try to boot it as normal then it is always ok.
Once the computer is running it never shows any signs of a problem and can run for an entire day without issue. There are no speed issues and there are no programs which don't work.If it is relevant, so far these blue screens have had at least 5 different titles including 'INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED', 'BAD_POOL_HEADING' and 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL' I can't remember the others right now.Basically I was just wondering if this is an issue I should be worried about getting worse because right now I can deal with shutting the computer down every night until I can get a new machine in

I've tried quite a few things such as completely renewing my drivers and such. The video shows the flickering on Facebook but it happens a lot more then just on Facebook.
Full Screen Exits For No Apparent Reason?
Nov 20, 2009I'm on Windows 7 (7600) Ultimate and up until about a week ago everything was working pretty good, but now applications exit full screen mode on their own.It seems to be totally random, I'll be sat watching a movie in Media Player Classic (or WMP/VLC) and it'll just exit from full screen, at no particular time, for no reason that I can find. It does the same thing if I have iTunes playing (with Visualizer) in full screen mode.As far as I'm aware I haven't changed anything or installed any new software around the time it started happening.
I'd perform a system restore and see if that would help...if "Windows 7 Manager" hadn't deleted them all! I don't have a screensaver so I it's not that triggering the full screen exit.Also, I have to use the mouse before the app will respond, I can't simply use Alt+F, not until I've clicked the mouse.
Windows 7 Recovery Disk Shows Operating System: Unknown On (Unknown)?
Oct 18, 2012When I was booting one day last week I got a nasty BSOD when Windows was trying to load. Then on the next reboot Windows 7 said it couldn't load and needed to do the recovery OS option from the Windows 7 repair on the CD. Well, before trying that I did a cold reboot and it got back into the OS fine so I didn't think much of it. Now, I noticed Ghost shows the C: drive status as "Unavailable" and it can't back it up anymore. It does give me an option to restore from one of my old backups. I'm thinking the MBR got hosed up somehow or something like that. But I'm skeptical to run an MBR repair since I have that 100MB partition on my SSD where my OS resides.
Ghost Shot> This was about a week ago my Windows 7 started acting up right before the big patch Tuesday. I've been running it for over a year now and it's been solid. When I first set it up I installed it on my SSD (Intel 510 120GB) drive. One of the qualms I had with the install is Windows created a separate boot sector on the disk drive where it stored my boot files. This is known the the "system reserved" operating system files 100MB partition. Apparently the way to avoid this is to use a third party partition tool before doing the windows install. That way it will keep the Boot sector files on the same partition which is how I would of liked it for doing restores from Ghost 15,etc. Anyway, ghost was backing up my system C: drive before last week. I have yet to even try and use Ghost to see if it would successfully restore my OS but I've been using it to backup my C: drive anyways. Prior to last week it could backup my C: drive fine. I might try a Ghost restore point from a few weeks back before this happened but not sure yet[CODE]
Laptop Crashes, Random Pattern On Screen / Blue-screen?
Dec 19, 2011one day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!

May 3, 2012Blue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.

I'm assuming it's a BIOS driver problem, but i'll leave it up to you guys to tell me, you're the experts :P I also tried doing a system restore, but for whatever reason when I try it just says the restore is initializing and it sits on that screen and never does anything. I've left it for about an hour before and still nothing, not real sure what the problem is there either. Right now I'm running the laptop off safe mode with networking and it's working fine, hopefully it's just a driver problem I can fix.
I'm on Windows 7 32bit and let me know if you need any more information.
Blue Screen And Black Screen?
Jun 2, 2012i have a windows 7x64.Yesterday while watching videos my screen started jumping and crashed to a blue screen with(QPR is not less or equal i think) and after that i restarted and it came with other errors.Now when i switch on the laptop it only shows black screen with no option to do anything.

Jun 23, 2009I just installed Windows 7 64-bit last night, and the installation went without a hitch. I started to install my programs and then things started to get a little hairy. Every once in a while (ranging 3 minutes - 3 hours) my computer will blue screen out with a mention of afd.sys. This usually happens when I try to do something with the network (ex: Skype, Trillian, etc.).
I'm too new to this to know how to read minidumps, so I thought I'd give them to you guys and see how you could help me. I'm up for any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Reformatting is not an issue, as I have time to spare (when I'm not at work). My system specs are up to date in my profile.

Blue Screen When Plugging In USB?
Nov 20, 2011I run windows 7 home premium and this morning for no apparent reason when I plugged in my USB stick my computer blue screened, I tried restarting it and the same thing happened, I tested my usb on a different computer and it was fine, I tired both ports on my laptop and the same thing happened on both. The same thing happened when I plugged in a different usb stick, but the usb mouse and webcam work fine.

Apr 1, 2012I was just searching the internet- probably on facebook 2 past Friday when (I think) I opened a new tab on Firefox, and everything closed and shut down. Now, it had shut down like this before a couple days before.. However, this time a blue screen of death appeared right after I went into normal mode after the restart.
I tried it in safe mode.. I am able to get in to the log in screen.. then the waiting screen.. then the BSOD. I've heard that it's supposed to tell you what the problem is, but I still don't know what it is. I have some pictures below. They're pretty bad though because I only see it for a second before it disappears.
I've tried diagnostics and repair.. Restoring to 2 weeks ago- spring break. Taking out my "new" devises (memory drives and graphics card) that I installed more than 3 months ago and replacing the memory with the ones it came with. The only thing that I THINK I haven't tried is command prompt (which probably won't help because I don't know how to use it) and the restore to factory setting. I have clicked on it, and it has given me an error (pictures follow.) F2-F8-F12- pressed them all.
