Printer Prints An Extra Page That Tells File Name, Template, Etc
Apr 10, 2012
Just this day my printer is printing out a sheet after printing what I want it to print that has the following information on it: filename directory template title author documents & settings how can I make it stop printing the extra sheet..
I use W7 and Thunderbird email. Each time I print an email (text) even if only a few lines, I get an extra full page of return paths, authority, analysis, originating, etc. Covers everything from soup to nuts. Printing anything else is great, no problems.I have checked all settings and can find nothing that looks abnormal. If I copy and paste and then print..no problem.I have an HP Photosmart C4640, Can't find anything on HP website that relates. Does anybody have any ideas?
I use a Zebra 2844 (UPS label printer) to print address labels for customer packages. After a lot of effort and loading, unloading drivers, I finally got it to print UPS labels (when I call it the UPS printer using their driver) and labels from Endicia (when I call it the Zebra 2844 and use their driver)However, whenever I print a label on this printer regardless of what I call it, out of Word (office 2003 version) it always says the same thing, that it will print outside the margins and do I want to go ahead. I say yes and it prints fine, except it always then prints a second blank page. This doesn't happen if I print to you laser printer but we need the sticky labels to attach to the boxes. This worked perfectly with the exact same set up in Windows XP (same printer, same version of Word), so it has to be something related to Windows 7. I have tried resetting the margins, messing around with the printer preferences
Using Windows 7 and Word, each request to print delivers only the test page. A request to print e-mail also results in printing the test page only. Have disconnected and uninstalled the 812C and then reconnected (USB) and reinstalled the driver. Same result. Only the test page prints.
I am having this problem with a windows 7 HP Elitebook 2540p laptop. Whenever I print a power point presentation on the landscape setting, the first page of the presentation comes out in portrait. This problem only happens when printing to one of our toshiba copiers in color. This is not a problem with a smaller hp color printer also hooked up to the computer.
I have checked the orientation settings and everything seems normal. I have even replaced the laptop with a new formatted one with the most updated drivers. The printers are toshiba 3530 and 2830s.
I've installed a 32-bit Metastock program in my 64-bit Windows 7. The program uses lots of templates and I imported them from a 32-bit Windows XP system. They work well but when I create a new template in Windows 7 the icon for that template has a golden lock attached to it. I can delete the template but I can't copy it, edit it, or replace another template with it. There are several posts in this Forum but I couldn't determine if they were talking about the same problem I have and I really didn't understand the fixes recommended. Looks like Microsoft has created a clever but obscure procedure that's hard to change.
I have a HP1315 printer which is shared on an XP box on our home network. I've added the printer but nothing prints - it spools and disappears. Printer works fine from the XP machines on the network therefore assume it's something related to my Windows 7 installation
my printer is only printing 1 copy of a document, webpage, excel file, etc.
It doesn't matter what I print, when I select to print, I get the box to change the quantity, but no matter what I put in there, it always just prints one copy.
It will print all the pages of a document, but just 1 copy.
My parents brand new pc - a dell desktop - Windows 7 - i5 core, a really nice fast machine. They have a HP psc 2410 photosmart printer that they used on their old machine. I installed it on the new one, it installed fine - no problems. However, on some websites - and I can't figure out exactly why some work and some don't, but for instance - on the Food Network site, when she goes to print a recipe, it will overlay the pages on top of each other. It does this even in the print preview.
Also, she can no longer click on "clickable links" in emails. Or even on some web pages. For instance - the "manage attachments" link below, which I can access on my machine with no problem, here on this new PC, does absolutely nothing.
We are using IE9, that came installed. All updates have been done. I have never seen this behavior before - and I'm stumped.
My PC, running 64bit Windows 7 is printing blank pages on the work computer. I downloaded the necessary drivers needed to print from this computer to the printer, which is a CanonMX 340. The computer recognizes the printer and will print, but the pages that it prints are blank. The pages are blank whether I'm printing from the internet, a saved .jpg file or even a .pdf file. In order to connect to the printer, I plug in an ethernet cable, still nothing works.
i have a Toshiba laptop running win 7 I'm on a network where the printer is plugged into a desktop running win XP via a USB cable. If I print using the network printer from the laptop i get blue and pink lines where black should be.I have not tried to print a picture so i don't know the results of that.
In windows XP I remember I could specify whatever I remember of a file and I could get straight to the file I was looking for, I could only remember a range of dates, an approx size, tow or three file extension... and thats it.. the search in windows 7 is good, but only for looking files that you know are there and you just want to save time scrolling down until get it. I have been in this situation various times, but I cant stand it anymore
I am looking for an audio file (a recording of a conversation). I don't remember the name (probably the default name the recorder put on it [there fore must be hundreds of files with the same names but in different folders). The specs I remember from the file, or what I am sure it is are:
Size between 1mb and 20mb Create and or modification date: between 2008 and 2010 File type: wav, mp3, qcp or amr (i don't remember if i convert it, if i edited it... )
In windows xp I would have found the file, but in this windows 7 something CANT be so simple and when it is forced to be, it doesn't work properly. When I try to use the "So Super duper" simple all mighty space for searches in the upper right corner... it only give me options for (despite the name itself ...) "modified date" and "size". How do I chose a range of date, a range of size various fiile type? Why its so complicated in windows 7?
I am looking for a simple cheap, and possibly free way to track the number of pages my employees print. Cost of ink and paper have been going through the roof and my department does not have the budget to invest into heavy duty tracking software.
From time to time when I go to print something in Word 2003 it prints two pages per sheet. When I check "page setup" it's somehow automatically set itself to "2 pages per sheet" and I have to reset it to "normal".Is there some way I can stop this from happening.
I have two printers USB connected to my Dell Vostro running Win 7 Pro 64 bit. I also print to PDFs, All printing operations default to A4 page selection. How can I change this default selection?
I used to be able to see the ink levels of my Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer everytime I went to print something. Since I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 I cannot find out how to see this information anymore.
At this moment the "low ink" red light is flashing and I have no idea which ink cartridge(s) I need to replace.
I'm running Windows 7 Ult SP1 64bit (clean install) and would like to know what's the best way to set up the page given I have (2) HDD's? The drives are currently installed as follows:[CODE]
I tend to bring my personal laptop to work as I usually use it when working remotely.
I can find the printer and install it but I cannot print, even the test page fails.
I figured out that this is because my personal laptop is not on my company domain. However, like for any other shared resource such as a network drive or accessing our exchange server, I would expect to be asked for my credentials so that I can connect to the printer.
Cna this be done? Is there a way to print from my personal laptop to a network printer on a domain?
After I installed Windows XP Mode on a host with 4GB of RAM, Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor said there was only 3GB RAM. By default a VM is assigned 512KB. Does a VM use a page file? What made Windows 7 Upgarde Advisor think there was only 3GB when 4GB of RAM is installed?
i have windows 7 width 2 partitions system C: and data D:,i set virtual memory size to custom 256MB on C:,but memory performance program reports page file size 3200MB,dxdiag reports 3200MB too,i set pagefile long time ago, so system is updatedC:/pagefile.sys has 256MBD: has no pagefile
Know I have done a good amount of research and heard all different angles. I am going to test some of these things myself and time it real time with a stop watch! This tweak is mostly aimed at system performance for gaming but would like to hear the pro's and cons.Win 7 64x I have a Core i5 750 overclocked to 4Ghz and I have 8GB DDR3 1600, GTX 570 and a Velociraptor 300GB 10k RPM drive. So my system moves fast as it is.I was wondering if someone from Toms Hardware could do a definitve test showing the performance ganes and ideal setups.System ram (hardware) is much faster then a pagefile on any hard drive. Some programs want to have a pagefile but most seem to be like Adobe Photoshop.I have seen people say over 4GB disable page file.Set page file to 512MB with over 4GB of RAM.Setup pagefile on 2nd hard drive.Leave it to system managed on Win 7 because it handles it differently then WinXP used to and any tweaks make no difference. So again I can do my own personal testing but I think it would be great to have a full review to answer all these questions and put it to bed so to speak. I honestly think it would be very benificial to do an article then have information just posted in the forums.
I'm gettingthe same "out of memory" error message on Outlook 2007 running under Windows 7 (64 bit). Reading this thread, I checked my RAM and Page File Size and they are both ~6G... Should I REALLY increase my Page file size to 12G?
Between WOW and FFXIV and some misc other things I only had 2 GB of free space on my 60 GB SSD so I lowered the page file which was eating about 12 GB down to 1024MB. Is this going to effect my pc at all? I have 8 GB of RAM
I have 32gb of ram, paired with a 128gb ocz ssd. I've heard about disabling page file or reducing the amount. Currently I've reduced it to 512 - 2048 and regained a lot of space on my ssd, which I'm very happy about. Any suggestions or fine how I have it?
Let's start at the basics. How do I import my favorites from my copy on my external hard drive to my new internet explorer? When I try to import my favorites, it tells me to browse. So I browse to my favorites file and it insists that I go down to a single item and it says there is nothing to import. That will do for tonight. I feel like I've finally gotten into the 21st century. Now I have to figure if I like it or not.
After my computer has been running for some time (maybe days), it gets really slow. I found a great memory manager that cleans the memory. I was wondering if there was a way to clean the Page File without rebooting. BTW, I use Process Explorer so I know there is nothing running that shouldn't be hogging resources.
I have attempted to place my page file to an external disk via USB > I:, on my Win 7 HP system as I had on my old Vista HP system, to assist in performance.fter setting no (zero size) pf on C: going through the motions on re-start I get a message indicating that windows has by default created a pf on C:, (I take it this is for memory dump purposes) & on checking the external disk no pf was created although in advanced settings dialogue box a system managed text is indicated against drive I:, the funny thing is on C: the page file size was exactly the same prior to change even though no page file is indicated for C: in the dialogue box.I tried again leaving a 200mb fixed sized pf for the memory dump on C: but got exactly the same response, system managed pf on I: where no pf exists on the drive.
