my printer is only printing 1 copy of a document, webpage, excel file, etc.
It doesn't matter what I print, when I select to print, I get the box to change the quantity, but no matter what I put in there, it always just prints one copy.
It will print all the pages of a document, but just 1 copy.
With my Windows 7 Pro 32bit laptop(fully updated) I have issues with copy and paste. When I copy text from a file/document and then paste it into another file/document I have one of three things happen. One it will copy the text correctly, though if I press enter to go to a new line its as if the clipboard was emptied because I cannot paste again, two it will not paste anything as if I didn't copy before, or three it will paste a screenshot of what is currently on my screen into the document.If it does copy and paste correctly then when I open a new file or folder, the clipboard will empty so I can't paste the same thing into two different documents unless both documents were open when I fist copied the text.This issue also occurs whe trying to copy/cut files and move them to a new/different directory(if the paste location is not already open then the clipboard appears to empty).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have my default printer, an HP Laserjet 6P hooked up to a Sunix parallel port on my PC. I can print from this printer from any application just fine. The problem is that, over time, maintenance across printers has caused multiple copies of this 6P to appear in the printer drop down list - but not one of them shows up in Devices and Printers!Case in point: I installed the SP1 upgrade with no real trouble. I did find, however, that I had to reinstall my Canon Pro9000 XPS driver. This was painless, but when I did it it automatically made itself the default printer. So in wanting to revert back to my 6P I... could not go to Devices and Printers because it doesn't show up there. I had to Install a New Printer, whereupon it found my 6P just fine and used the available driver. But now it's Copy 4! And it and none of the others show up in Devices and Printers.How do I get this printer to show up in D&P (any of them!), and how do I wipe these "extra" copies from Windows 7?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy parents brand new pc - a dell desktop - Windows 7 - i5 core, a really nice fast machine. They have a HP psc 2410 photosmart printer that they used on their old machine. I installed it on the new one, it installed fine - no problems. However, on some websites - and I can't figure out exactly why some work and some don't, but for instance - on the Food Network site, when she goes to print a recipe, it will overlay the pages on top of each other. It does this even in the print preview.
Also, she can no longer click on "clickable links" in emails. Or even on some web pages. For instance - the "manage attachments" link below, which I can access on my machine with no problem, here on this new PC, does absolutely nothing.
We are using IE9, that came installed. All updates have been done. I have never seen this behavior before - and I'm stumped.
My PC, running 64bit Windows 7 is printing blank pages on the work computer. I downloaded the necessary drivers needed to print from this computer to the printer, which is a CanonMX 340. The computer recognizes the printer and will print, but the pages that it prints are blank. The pages are blank whether I'm printing from the internet, a saved .jpg file or even a .pdf file. In order to connect to the printer, I plug in an ethernet cable, still nothing works.

Goal: to allow the laptop to be switched between the 3 printers without windows creating multiple copies of the same model printer
Problem: each time the laptop is hooked up to a new printer, windows creates another copy of the same model printer in the "printers" list.
I realize there is probably a s/n burned into the firmware of the printers that causes windows to see that it is a different printer (regardless if it's the same make and model). Is there a way to make windows think that all these printers are the same exact printer?

Example error message from Excel is "Your file could not be printed due to an error on Microsoft XPS Document writer". If I try the printer I get the exact same message. From Firefox I get "An unknown error occurred while printing." I have searched everywhere for a solution, I even restored as far back as I could but that was only a month ago. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Toshiba Tecra R840 on Win7 64 bit. Much of the time, it is connected to a Toshiba docking station. My printer is an older, parallel-only HP LaserJet 6L. It's connected to the PC with a Dynex parallel-to-USB cable.
Here's the thing - Windows installs a new printer driver if I plug the printer cable into a different USB port on either the PC or the docking station. So far, I have three of them. What's worse, each printer driver will only print on the USB port that was used to create it. Quite a nuisance.
Can I do something to have a single printer driver work regardless of which USB port is used?

I use W7 and Thunderbird email. Each time I print an email (text) even if only a few lines, I get an extra full page of return paths, authority, analysis, originating, etc. Covers everything from soup to nuts. Printing anything else is great, no problems.I have checked all settings and can find nothing that looks abnormal. If I copy and paste and then print..no problem.I have an HP Photosmart C4640, Can't find anything on HP website that relates. Does anybody have any ideas?

Other program such as Ventrilo, do nothing when links are clicked. I cannot find anything at all about this on google.

Every time I print a document from any program the print que continualy resubmits te job when it has completed causing the printer to print multiple copies and will not stop until i cancle the print job in the que. Have disconnected and uninstalled the 812C and then reconnected (USB) and reinstalled the driver. Same result. Only the test page prints.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a refurbished Sony Vaio PCG-6R3L with Windows 7.Everything was working fine, then I plugged in the USB plug for my wireless keyboard/mouse (Microsoft wireless optical desktop receiver 3.0A)I did not install anything for the keyboard, however windows automatically did something to get the keyboard to work (I think it downloaded the drivers automatically).From the wireless keyboard all the keys type exactly what they are supposed to, that's what I'm using to type this. I've used this keyboard on multiple computers, both with installing the software that came with it, and also just plugging it in, never caused this problem before.When I press and hold the FN key, all the keys type their regular symbol, however once I let go of the FN key they start printing the wrong symbol again.I did all kinds of searching online and went through all of the regional settings and such that I could find, and all the settings I could find were set to "united states english", which is also the only language/keyboard that I saw installed on the computer.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having this problem with a windows 7 HP Elitebook 2540p laptop. Whenever I print a power point presentation on the landscape setting, the first page of the presentation comes out in portrait. This problem only happens when printing to one of our toshiba copiers in color. This is not a problem with a smaller hp color printer also hooked up to the computer.
I have checked the orientation settings and everything seems normal. I have even replaced the laptop with a new formatted one with the most updated drivers. The printers are toshiba 3530 and 2830s.
When I pop a DVD in my drive I use WMP 12 to play it and 2 interfaces of WMP 12 open to play it. One has the menu of the DVD on it and it's maximized ready to go and one is just WMP 12 minimized. The minimized one fades out, but that's not the issuue. Why do 2 of them open in the first place? Is it something to do with the fact that WMP 12 has both a 32 bit and a X64 when you're running Windows 7 HP x64? I do have the 32 bit as default with the Windows 7 codec package by Shark.
