View 2 Replies View RelatedAt first I thought it was only my printer......uninstalled the drivers,reinstalled.......etc. Then I tried to print as an XPS document and I get the same error messages. Example error message from Excel is "Your file could not be printed due to an error on Microsoft XPS Document writer". If I try the printer I get the exact same message. From Firefox I get "An unknown error occurred while printing." I have searched everywhere for a solution, I even restored as far back as I could but that was only a month ago. I can print from Notepad, both on the printer and XPS Document writer, I can also print a test page and an alignment page

I downloaded the necessary drivers needed to print from this computer to the printer, which is a CanonMX 340. The computer recognizes the printer and will print, but the pages that it prints are blank. The pages are blank whether I'm printing from the internet, a saved .jpg file or even a .pdf file. In order to connect to the printer, I plug in an ethernet cable, still nothing works.

I'm unable to print emails or web pages.Dialogue box shows 'the internet has stopped working' and no printing information is displayed.It then recovers the tab when the dialog box is closed. Am running IE8, However can print from library.Have tried disabling firewall and altering Internet options settings. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm helping to develop a web application that uses iframes. On the main page (outside of all frames), we have a div that we use to display and print forms. We also have 2 nested iframes; the innermost iframe contains the main page content. When printing, we use extensive CSS and Javascript (contained in the outermost window) to hide everything except the print div.When I use File > Print Preview, it always displays the correct preview; that is, the outermost window which contains the print div. Printing from the Print Preview works as it should. However, when I use File > Print, it seems to print whatever window has focus, not the entire page (outermost window). Therefore my print div doesn't get printed and all I get is a printout of whatever is currently onscreen. Why doesn't the print out from File > Print match what is shown in the print preview?
A related issue occurs when using JavaScript's window.print(). When I call window.print from within the print div, it prints as it should. But when I call parent.parent.window.print() from within the double-nested iframe, IE still only prints the window that has focus, not the outermost window (as shown by "parent.parent."). And since they just clicked on a button in the innermost frame, the innermost frame has focus, my print div doesn't print and all I get is a printout of whatever is currently onscreen. I have been using "parent.parent" for all other Javascript calls from the nested iframe to the outermost, so I know that's not the problem.
My temporary solution is to focus on the outermost frame when the users mouses out of the nested window (ie, when they mouse up to the file menu) Code: window.onmouseout = parent.parent.window.focus(); and focus on the outermost frame when the user clicks the print button that is within the nested frame. I would really rather not do this focusing, especially on mouseout, because it seems to cause some issues when the user pulls up another application.I have also tried using the onbeforeprint event to focus. The onbeforeprint was triggered, but I couldn't get the focusing to work correctly.I haven't been able to find anything regarding these problems online; has anybody had similar problems?
My Windows 7 pro x64 system will not play the "Print Complete" sound after printing a document.I get the pop-up saying that the print job has completed, just like it did with Win XP. However, the sound is not played.The sounds applet in control panel has the "Print Complete" sound defined correctly and the Test button plays the sound. So I do not have an audio problem, and the .wav file is not blocked.I have looked for any options that could control the sound, but have not found any.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy parents brand new pc - a dell desktop - Windows 7 - i5 core, a really nice fast machine. They have a HP psc 2410 photosmart printer that they used on their old machine. I installed it on the new one, it installed fine - no problems. However, on some websites - and I can't figure out exactly why some work and some don't, but for instance - on the Food Network site, when she goes to print a recipe, it will overlay the pages on top of each other. It does this even in the print preview.
Also, she can no longer click on "clickable links" in emails. Or even on some web pages. For instance - the "manage attachments" link below, which I can access on my machine with no problem, here on this new PC, does absolutely nothing.
We are using IE9, that came installed. All updates have been done. I have never seen this behavior before - and I'm stumped.
my printer is only printing 1 copy of a document, webpage, excel file, etc.
It doesn't matter what I print, when I select to print, I get the box to change the quantity, but no matter what I put in there, it always just prints one copy.
It will print all the pages of a document, but just 1 copy.
I tried to print a document with the XPS printer thing and it wouldn't save no matter where I tried to save it, it said that I don't have permission. I am an administrator (and the only account on here).

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have 3 desktop..two PC is having a win7 32bit and the other one is 64bit..i install the printer LX-300+II(dot matrix) on the 64bit win7...then of course the three desktop is on a network...the 32bit win7 is the admin..then the 64bit win7 and the 32bit admin can print on the dot matrix..but the other 32bit cannot..both of those 3 desktop are shared..workgroup name is same..sharing properties is same for both 32bit..and both 32bit can connect to the printer and can detect..when i tried to print its just qeue and comes with the word "spooling"..but when i tried printing on a laser printer it prints..but on the dot matrix it cannot print...
ways i tried:
1.check the port/ethernet the UTP cables plug out plug in and wait like around 20 secs. then connect again.
2.reinstall the driver on the 32bit that doesnt print.
3.remove device then add printer again.
4.did a windows update.
5.check if same workgroup.
6.check if shared and with same location and can access both 3 desktop.
7.check the permissions.
8.restart the computer.
9.troubleshooting the printer.
10.make sure there's a network connection.
IP address doesn't have because its a USB port and not suported by the OS..3 desktop on a network...two 32bit win7 one win7 64bit.32bit and 64 bit can print on the dot matrix and laser printer but the other 32bit cannot print on the matrix but can print on the laser..when printing its just qeue with spooling..
I got a new computer powered by Windows 7 which was upgraded to Win 7 Pro. I have it attached to a Xerox Phaser 8400 printer. The printer will not print in color when i use the word pad or Print Master software. It's own self test it prints color so I assume there is a setting I can't find.

Everything was going fine with setting up until it came to printers.I have 3 printers connected - Brother HL2030 laser, HP Photosmart D6160 and Epson Stylus photo R2400 - and NONE of them will work. All three came up with "your device is installed correctly etc etc" message. I can't print documents or even a test page. I've downloaded and installed Brother's W7 driver - zilch. HP site says you lose most of the functionality of toollbox etc but "the windows 7 default driver should work" - it doesn't. Likewise the Epson. Computer #2 Sucessfully installed networked printer and prints normally when Computer #1 is booted to XP. When computer #1 is booted to Windows 7 it automatically detects and installs networked printer once network was correctly setup but gets error message when trying to print.
