We have been having some odd printing issues. It only happens when there are people in the building. It spits out random Office files. I have checked for viruses and spyware with four different software packages. When I look on our SBS 2008 server only one page is printed but is still an MS Office document. The really odd thing is that it is almost always a random Office template. Any ideas? Microsoft told me that they had never seen or heard of this. And this was from the developers
Since I got my new computer with win7pro 64bit...... I've had an intermittent problem which is that when printing mostly from word2010(use this for 98% of printing) the print job will restart in the middle of the job(I print from 300 to 50,000 page jobs 99% are mail merges)
PRINTER: SAVIN 9060(using the RCPS driver - because of the overlay capability)
I've watched the print que while merging/spooling/printing and it never does it as it is spooling/printing only after it is done spooling and it is VERY, VERY random
my SAVIN IT TECH(they could not re-create the problem on another win7pro 64bit computer) and I thought it could be the product of using older version word .docs.....so I starting converting them to word2010 .docs and it was still doing it so then I started re-typesetting some starting from scratch with a word 2010 .doc and still have the problem but still very random
In the print que it will say: printing 3/2,500 then it will say Error-Printing the printer pauses then it will just start over spooling/printing from the beginning again
before new computer I was running winxp pro.....word2000 with no problems at all
I only want to print pages 13-17 but it prints 1-10

I'm unable to print emails or web pages.Dialogue box shows 'the internet has stopped working' and no printing information is displayed. It then recovers the tab when the dialog box is closed. Am running IE8, However can print from library.Have tried disabling firewall and altering Internet options settings. Same with 3 different printers wired and wireless.Have tried resetting internet options.

I just got a new computer with windows 7 and windows live mail. When I want to print a document or anything in the email, I don't get an option of previewing or printing only certain pages from the email
My PC, running 64bit Windows 7 is printing blank pages on the work computer. I downloaded the necessary drivers needed to print from this computer to the printer, which is a CanonMX 340. The computer recognizes the printer and will print, but the pages that it prints are blank. The pages are blank whether I'm printing from the internet, a saved .jpg file or even a .pdf file. In order to connect to the printer, I plug in an ethernet cable, still nothing works.
Ive got a desk top pc with printer connected and working.
When connecting my laptop vis cable network through my dsl router, I can see and "add network printer", but all my printing jobs get hung, cant even delete them. Have to reboot all pc's to clear the hanging files, which allows the very same "hung" printer job then to print.
I'm sure the desktop is having a network or user id problem, any suggestions?
In case you didn't already get the memo, Dream Machine 2011 is going to be unleashed on the world at the beginning of next week. We've given you some hints so far about what you'll find in this years rig, but we haven't given out any specific spoilers so far. Well, since you've all been so patient, we'll give you the first one right now: Dream Machine 2011 has an unbelievably kick-ass custom paint job. What's it look like? Who did it? You'll have to wait to find that out, but for now we're going to tease you with 30 amazing custom paint jobs we found around the web. One last thing: one of the paintshops whose work is featured in this gallery did Dream Machine 2011--can you guess which one?.
As per the title, I'd like to schedule multiple backup jobs; I don't see how to do this with Windows 7's built-in backup utility.
I have copied NTBACKUP and it's two associated .dll's from an XP box to my Windows 7 system; ntbackup runs if activated manually but scheduled tasks don't run.
I've been using various print drivers for various locations with success for a month with my new laptop. Today, all drivers gone.Loading new ones doesn't work. Print spooler is not "started;" it starts successfully, then is not "started" next time I look.Other possibly relevant information: HP 1020, HP MX 340 at home office.Tried: multiple restarts of print spooler, multiple reboots, troubleshooters, HP detect and download drivers?
(Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, HP LaserJet CP1215)When printing from Word (or any other normal application) the documents just sit in the print queue with Status = "Error - Printing".If I stop, then re-start the Print Spooler service, they then print.Strangely enough, this does not happen if I print from the HP printer diagnostic utility.I've done complete re-install of the entire printer driver suite and I'm pretty sure everything that end is OK. So what's happening with the spooler? The error message isn't exactly very revealing
I'm on Windows 7 and have run into the annoyance of my PrtScn key actually bringing up the print dialog box to print. It still copies the screen to the clipboard for a paste into paint, but I can't figure out why it's bringing up the dialog to print or how to turn that off. I have seen it before maybe 8 years ago on Windows XP but do not remember what was done to correct it. When I try to search, I just find posts about it not working or how to turn the whole screen capture function off for the PrtScn button.
I'm using Win 7 Pro and want to schedule several backups to my NAS. With Win XP, I was able to schedule multiple backup jobs, which makes things easier since I have 116 GB of data. I like to backup my documents, email files, etc. every week, but my photos, MP3s, etc. don't change as frequently so once a month is fine for that. Not surprisingly, the media collection takes much longer to backup, which is another reason I try to separate it from my "regular" backup.Unfortunately, Win 7 backup only seems to allow one backup job to be scheduled, which seems awfully limited. Am I missing something? Are there other free backup utilities that would work better, or do I need to shell out some cash?
Been having some crashes. At first they occurred on start up. Claiming the computer wasn't properly shut down. Now today, the other crashes started, with the first happening out of nowhere, the second happening upon starting a video game. I've been without crashes for a while now, only having used my browser(Opera) and copying some files to an external hard drive. As well as the SF tool.I only have 2 dump files available. SF tool file should be in attachments, unless I made a mistake somewhere
I reformatted my computer multiple times, yet my computer seems to BSOD randomly. What happenes is that everything becomes unresponsive; cant alt+tab, cant ctrl+alt+del etc etc. everything freezes randomly... then boom, BSOD. its happened twice, with no apparent pattern. And then, when it restarts, it tries booting but then it goes into the boot selection screen and my SSD is nowhere to be found. I have to power off then power on again for it to boot up and log in.

Why are most of my web pages to Large i have the setting on the recommended resolution, windows 7, i have a 19inch square screen in Landscape mode and it says the resolution should be 1280- 1024?
a week ago the IE stopped loading pages, i have also firefox installed which is working fine. googled the problem and show a suggestion to reset the IE (tools - internet options - advanced - reset). but this option was in grey. i tried tune up utilities to fix the win but it didn't heventually i removed the IE9 (control panel - programs and features...). the problem was solved or so i thought. the problem came back again in the next time i run ie8. i tried to re install IE9 but the problem was till there. i removed again the IE9 and again i thought the problem solved but it came back in the next time i run ie8.
I dont know if this is the right area or not, as i just joined, but it seems to be the best place. I recently bought a new computer, and now it will randomly shut down. Its also making loud pitch noises. That just started happening. I called tech support and they told me it was probably just the power supply. Before I send it in though, i want to make sure that is what is wrong. I dont know all to put on here.
I have recently purchased a Sony VAIO Laptop, running Windows 7 Premium. On my attached screenshot, you will notice parts of the pages are transparent, I can see my desktop and other images which are underneath. Is this normal on Windows 7 or should I return it to the store from which I purchased it?
I'm having a strange problem that I have never seen or heard of. Every time I try to do anything in windows 7 that requires an internet connection, it gives me a "Page cannot be displayed" or "Page not found" message. The only way I can get some pages to load is to refresh them several times, after wich they will finally load.It is not just a problem in IE8, as Chrome, and firefox do the same thing. Windows will not update anymore as it cannot get a connection, and I cannot purchase items from steam or itunes because they give me a "cannot find a secure connection" error. I recently reformatted and the problem still persists. Other PCs on my network do not have the same problem. I recently moved all of my components to a new chasis, and am wondering if the ethernet port or controller could have been damaged
I was using Google Chrome and it just suddenly wouldn't load ANY pages. My internet is working fine. So I used Firefox instead, as that seemed to be working fine. But today, that's being really slow. And most of the time goes into "Not responding." if it needs to load something like a video.
