Phantom Printer Have Never Owned Appearing As Network Device?

I have been trying to determine the source or cause of a printer that appears as a device on my network, however not only is nothing other than my Roku box attached to my router, I have never owned the device in question. After refreshing the page the device disappears. The screen shots below should concerned about a breach in my network but again, the router shows nothing attached that should not be already.

My Network Adapters has suddenly disappeared after a Critical update by Windows update, now my network is X'ed out. I already did reformat and still nothing and in the past all I do is to System restore but after a while it had errors and I was forced to reformat but after that there's still no connection.

I am seeing old entries of phantom folders in My Network Places in Windows 7. In XP you could just delete them, but there is no selection for this in [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]Windows [COLOR=blue !important]7[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR].

Someone just recently got a new Gateway all-in-one desktop computer running Windows 7. He has a slightly older HP deskjet printer connected to it. Each day, a second iteration of that printer appears and sets itself as the default printer. When he goes to print, nothing happens because it is sitting in the queue of that second printer. Yesterday I reset the print spooler by turning it off an on. When done, only the original printer appeared and everything printed fine. Today he called me and said the second printer was back and he can't print.

It is becoming such a hassle trying to play a game with a friend, when every 15 mins i get forcibly minimized to this box, and have died from it before. I have tried all the "fixes" regarding the user account and sharing part, none have worked, but somehow delayed the speed of the messages. Nothing has really changed lately, other than formatting a partition (but the messages appeared before this) Any suggestions? Also, it pops up on every program I use, my games, my browser, msn, etc. Wont let me click back on the program till I hit cancel

I downloaded Printers' drivers, one for HP and the other for Epson by accessing their web-sites.Both are USB-connection and working fine, however icons of both printers on, ... Start > Device and Printers,.... there are no printers' icons, even though other devices, such as thumb-drive, monitor, keyboard and others.Just wonder why icons of both printers are missing on 'Device and Printer?'

I want to uninstall DivX Plus media player but it doesn't show up on the Windows Programs list nor does it appear in the programs list of Revo Uninstaller. It has been installed in the Program Data>DivX folder. Can I just delete DivX file?

I have a phantom removable disk drive (4) G: showing in Computer Management, this is also giving me real hassle as in thread; Problem: Autoplay System Reserved (G:) error appearing.In Computer Management there is also a flashing G: or sometimes L: along side the System Reserved partition. I am hoping that removing this phantom drive may fix the problem in the link above.

I have a windows 7 small PC with two user accounts "Guest" and the one I use. I rarely if ever log in on the guest account. However sometimes I would come back to this PC and notice it is logged in as guest. This usually happens in the morning.This is a PC only I ever use yet I often see it signed in as guest without my doing.I've also noticed that after this happens my bluetooth headset acts odd. I can hear feedback from the microphone. As in instead of playing just the sound from the PC on the earphones I can barely hear them and instead I hear the sounds from the microphone.

if you are familiar with the phantom than u know it hax fan adjustments on the top. i have not taken a whole lot of time to test it out, but i belive the inputs for the fans that connect directly to the fan adjustment are slightly larger than your standard mobo fan connection. i plan on purchaseing about 80-90 dollars worth of fans so i want to make sure it will plug in to the fan speed adjustment panel on top.

We have just added our first Windows 7 pc to our XP network. I would like to connect to the Windows 7 PC to a shared "Epson lq-590" printer on one of the XP machines.According to the Epson website the only drivers available for this printer are through Windows 7 update in the "add a printer wizard". If the printer is directly attached to the Windows 7 PC the driver installation via "add a printer wizard" works without a hitch. I am using Windows 7. When I shut down my computer, I see this phantom transparent window pop up immediately and close within less than a half second. I have looked at my windows processes and even done searches to see if I can generate a shutdown log, but get no clear answer on how to identify what the window is from. My internet searches get me nowhere as becuase all I get it security functions of logging in and logging out of Windows.

when my windows 7 32-bit laptop starts up and displays the login screen there is an account that it seems to want to default to called ./user when the OS was loaded that was the original user account. since then that account has been deleted, however it is still showing up on the login screen. i believe at one point someone may have deleted this account from the user accounts on this laptop, as well as the folders associated with the profile.does anyone know how to manage this annoying screen?

I have an issue where my computer makes the "ba-dum" sound randomly and hangs for a moment, but I haven't connected or disconnected a drive. It seems only to happen when I am moving the mouse. I noticed it for the first time after Norton 360 started telling me I needed to buy more online backup space. I also noticed that the Norton backup drive, which shows up as an "other" folder in my "computer" folder would pop in and out in time with the sound. I called Norton technical support. They were terrible, so I uninstalled Norton. I downloaded a trial of Vipre instead. When I installed Vipre, it said that Norton had not been completely uninstalled. I couldn't find any Norton programs in my program manager, so I installed Vipre anyway. The sound and hangups are happening less frequently, but they still occur. I no longer see a drive popping in and out on my "computer" folder.

I used to connect a Nokia 6700s phone to my Sony Vaio using a USB cable, but I no longer use that phone. However, even though the phone is not connected I see it in Start - Computer under Other (1): MyName Nokia 6700s System Folder If I double-click this entry nothing happens, but if I right-click it then I get the following: Windows Explorer has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem.... Windows Explorer is restarting ..... I would love to be able to delete this entry! I have looked in Device Manager but it is not there. There is also no drive letter assigned to it.

anyway - i just unplugged everything from my system, to install a new graphics card, and at the same time dust around it, tidy up etc. including an external hard disc which is connected full time, and is assigned, or was assigned drive F.as i had an onboard card originally, i had difficulty with the install, so had to reset the bios by removing the battery.everything works fine now, except i have a phantom cd drive in F
it doesn't show in the device manager, and it isn't in disc management either.the biggest poblem is i have an external drive which has 500gig of projects, photos and video, which are all linked to adobe lightroom, premiere and after effects, and now they are all broken links, unless i can assign the drive which has now been assigned to E, back to F where it should be.

When I go to the device and printer window there is nothing listed. There are printers and devices on the computer because everything works with the exception of the Bluetooth. The printer prints, but I have no way of knowing what is in the queue. This may have never worked since the beginning. I don't know if this is related, but, Internet Explorer does not work. I have downloaded it at least 4 times with the same results. It will not open.

Issue with an HP deskjet D4363. It worked just fine when I bought it in November and then just stopped.At first it would print 3 or 4 lines and then freeze. I have purchased a D-Link 1040 wireless print server and have connected it to my printer using a USB connection. I have installed the software. I turned the power on and pressed the little button on the side of the print server to enter search mode. In Windows 7 I tried adding a device but my computer can't find it.I suspect I may have to make some network connection or adjustments using my wifi modem. How to proceed?

New computer windows 7. Lexmark Z52 printer. Devices and Printers calls it an unspecified device and could not locate drivers. I went through the steps and did Windows Update and it found the drivers. I have tried unplugging, power off, computer off and reboot. Reboot with USB plugged in, reboot with USB unplugged. A whole host of attempts with no success. My old computer was 7 also, and I was able to find a generic fix. It was a driver (bullzip) I thought, but cant get that to work either. All I need is basic printing for check writing and regular Word stuff. No photos or graphics printing.

I have a projector on my network which has LAN connectivity for the purpose of emailing error messages (ie. lamp due to be changed). The connection path is as follows:Using cat5e, I've connected the projector to a 5-Port Linksys SD205 where there are other devices connected. The SD205 is connected to a 24-Port Zyxel via cat5e which is where all network devices meet.The projector is properly configured with IP information. I am unable to ping the projector through the network. The port to which it is connected gets a brief, intermittent flash. If I connect the projector directly to the Zyxel switch, I can ping it and access it via IE.I thought the same so I swapped it out with a 8-Port Linksys EZXS88W but still get the same results.Perhaps it is a quirk with Linksys, so I swap out the switch with a 3com and still the same results.Why would this device connect when directly connected to the ZyXEL but not when going through the Linksys SD205? What does the intermittent flashing light on the Linksys SD205 mean?

I have installed Windows 7 RC on 3 computers and setup the network as a home network, skipped creating "home-group" I have 2 XP systems on same network that I need to access. Anyway, I cant seem to figure out why/what this unknown device in my network map is? It shows up on all the computers that have the RC installed. I have attached a pic of this.

I installed Win7 Pro no hastles and updated it. Installed all the latest drivers etc.Left the PC while it was downloading something and came back to find the Network connection had disappeared. Restarted several times between loading on the newest drivers from Realtek. Each time I checked the device manager I was unable to locate the network device options. Each time i tried to re-install the drivers it would give me a message about "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. IF Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable". After doing some reading about it I tried removing the RAM and BIOS battery but to no avail. So I tried updating the UEFI from ASROCK, the existing version was 1.3 and I updated to 1.5. After doing that I was no longer able to load into windows. I read further that if windows had been installed with disk setting set to IDE instead of AHCI it would not work. I could not recall If I had enabled AHCI or IDE so I tried every combination I could come up with but no luck. I then tried to re-install windows but after it installs and reboots the pc it goes to the completing installation screen. I have some mouse control for a short period and then it seems to freeze. However the 3 little progress dots on the screen continue to move eternally. I tried rolling the UEFI version back to 1.3 and ran the same process again and the same result.
It's been several hours since i wrote that part. Since then I have managed to get windows 7 to install. The network device was recognised and worked correctly. I immediately disabled sleep mode for the network device. I updated windows and installed all the required drivers again. Then all of a sudden the connection drops again and no network device can be found. I then go and get the PCIe Intel network card from my previous machine which I had bought due to a faulty onboard network device. I disabled the on board LAN device in the UEFI and then shut down. Installed the Intel Network Card and rebooted. Windows does not find it even when I try and add a device.
Only other thing I can think of is to try and install on a regular SATA drive and see if it's some kind of conflict with the SSD.
