Packet Loss Only In Windows 7, But Not In Xp?
Mar 18, 2012I have packet loss, and randomly connection loss (but otherwise i have very good pings!) under windows 7 with two different computer with realtek 8111B and 8111E onboard chips. But there is no packet loss under windows xp with the same computers.I tried old, new, and motherboard manufacturer's drivers, new windows 7 system without any antivirus software, disabled windows defender, in safe mode, but still the sameI have no router, just a modem directly plug into the pc.

Mar 14, 2011im having troubled with my acer netbook wireless network connection.i can connect to servers..but i cant browse in the internet. .the notification icons..prompts that i am connected at all.until i view my status.. 650 send packet data but 0 receive??and if i tried to direct into websites.. it will just say "taking too long to respond" or unavailable.i dont know if there was something wrong setting on my network ip or what??

Sep 22, 2012I can't enable wake on lan on my computer. First I tried with an on board LAN cart then I added external cart - Intel(R) PRO/1000 GT.In the device manager I checked "Allow this device to wake up the computer" and "Only allow a magic packed to wake up the computer" for the network adapter.In BIOS I enabled the PME Event Wake up property.On my machine I installed a Magic Packect sender/receiver to check whather the packets can reach the computer and I see that the packets are received when I send them from my phone.But when the computer is turned off I can't wake it this way. Also there's light from my LAN cart, so I assume that is has power from the mainboard when the computer is turned off. My mainboard is Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3 and the operating system is Windows 7 32bit.

CPU: Intel Core i3 M380
OS: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 64 bit
Network Card: Broadcom NetLink
Antivirus: McAfee
From time to time (an average of 5 minutes) I experience a packet drop, whatever host I connect to or I ping. The problem is not related to any network device because the problem does not occur on another PC connected to the same switch. And, more interestingly, the problem does not occur on a Linux virtual machine (VMware) installed on my laptop. The problem occurs even if I disable the firewall or the real time check of the antivirus. So, every clue brings to Windows 7 or the network device driver (that is up to date, though). It's important for me because I have to connect to other machines remotely (and the connection drops).

May 15, 2012I recently had to reformat my hard drive. Before doing so, I exported all of the registry mail rules and saved them on a flashdrive. Now, after reinstalling Windows and WLM, I am trying to figure out how to get the rules imported/reinstated without having to recreate them all again.
I merged them; i.e. clicked on the registry files I exported and saved prior to the reformat, and they are now in the registry themselves, but what else am I supposed to be doing because when I open WLM, there are no rules.
Transfering Message Rules In Live Mail

Nov 7, 2009Did a clean install upgrade from XP and installed office 2003. I used a utility called backrex to save and reinstall my office settings. Everything works fine except my message rules do not work. I get an error message similar to unable to move from inbox. I deleted all of my rules and was only able to recreate the ones going through the specified account to a folder.
All other rules attempted produced the rule but the underlined portion that you click and fill out were not underlined so it is impossible to do the rules other than through the specified account.
After finishing each rule I attempted to run the rule in the inbox to sort the emails and that failed and I received the error message unable to move from inbox. I have 47 email accounts for my businesses and for my sanity must use rules. Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone know of a solution?
Base Filtering Engine Won't Start?
Mar 7, 2012A few days ago my computer was infected with the trojan HEUR:Backdoor.Win64.Generic (consrv.dll). Kaspersky caught it and removed it but not before it disabled my windows security service, "base filtering engine". I restored the service in the register but it won't start even though it is set to automatic. I think it won't start because the file bfe.dll was corrupted by the virus. I have another copy of the file obtained from a working computer with the same operating system but I cannot replace it because "I don't have permission".

Jul 16, 2011In IE8, do people use it? I find it blocks something on every web page I visit so I'm always seeing the exclamation point. And wondering if it is making the web page not display properly. On a few sites I was able to allow some things to make the pages display correct but then it has to be run with "choose which content to block" which seems basically the same as not running it at all. I couldn't find a lot of info about it. Only how to turn it on or off.

Jul 1, 2012I've tried re-adding the appropriate reg files. I've tried fixing permissions in the registry. I've tried all the cmd line commands. I have no idea how to get this service to run. Because of this the firewall doesn't work. And also i can't open any ports on my router I'm thinking.I've used ccleaner to fix the errors in my registry, as well as sfc /scannow. I was getting some error when trying to use the Windows 7 installation disc to repair windows so I couldn't do that.I'm also not infected with zero acess rootkit becaue these aren't found on my computer.
