View 0 RepliesI am trying to deny access to a particular .exe using applocker. I have created a rule and the default rules, and made sure the appIDSvc service is running. My rule is not being enforced. The application runs normally. If I check the event log I can see a bunch of warnings stating appidsvc.dll:AppLocker component not available on this SKU. Not sure if this is a symptom or something else.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI run windows 7 enterprise as an administrator and I want to make use of applocker. So I start the local security policy, enable applocker and create the default rules. If all is correct I should not be able to run executables in for example "D:Applicationsquickpar" but unfortunately I can. I even create a rule which explicitly blocks "D:Applicationsquickparquickpar.exe", however I can still run it. I even got the application identity service running, so I don't know what is wrong.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently had to reformat my hard drive. Before doing so, I exported all of the registry mail rules and saved them on a flashdrive. Now, after reinstalling Windows and WLM, I am trying to figure out how to get the rules imported/reinstated without having to recreate them all again.
I merged them; i.e. clicked on the registry files I exported and saved prior to the reformat, and they are now in the registry themselves, but what else am I supposed to be doing because when I open WLM, there are no rules.
I have four Windows 7 machines with Windows Live Mail on each machine. I have been able to transfer my messages and contacts from one machine to another just fine. What I want to do now is transfer the message rules from one machine to all the others.
Does anyone know how to export and import message rules?
Did a clean install upgrade from XP and installed office 2003. I used a utility called backrex to save and reinstall my office settings. Everything works fine except my message rules do not work. I get an error message similar to unable to move from inbox. I deleted all of my rules and was only able to recreate the ones going through the specified account to a folder.
All other rules attempted produced the rule but the underlined portion that you click and fill out were not underlined so it is impossible to do the rules other than through the specified account.
After finishing each rule I attempted to run the rule in the inbox to sort the emails and that failed and I received the error message unable to move from inbox. I have 47 email accounts for my businesses and for my sanity must use rules. Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone know of a solution?
I am trying to create a message rule in Windows Live Mail Desktop. For example, I want a rule to automatically place any email from Pay Pal, to a folder I created named Pay Pal. But when I chose the option "specified folder", only the Outbox shows up as a list of folder options to move this to.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop with a 250GB HDD that has Vista Ultimate installed on it. I recently added a 64GB SSD and installed 7 Professional on it. All is working well as a dual boot system, but at this point I would like to format the 250GB drive and use it for data storage. Problem is that since it was the original drive when I added the SSD and Windows 7, I believe that the MBR is on that drive. When I physically disconnect it, I get a message to put in my 7 install disk, but when I to try to repair it, it shows no OS to repair. So, can I move, change or create a new MBR on the SSD or am I going to need to just do another clean install of 7 on the 64GB drive without the 250GB drive attached, then attach it and format it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded my computer from vista to seven and as i had many problems with it, I was later advised to make a clean reinstall.
Details of my problems here: Very slow Seven 32bit and unable to install updates
To do so, since it is a student version downloaded from Microsoft's website (no physical dvd then), I had to make a windows 7 ISO file in order to boot from a seven dvd.
To do this, I need to install AIK first (so as to later have the possibility to use the 'oscdimg' command), by downloading an ISO file. I have done so and am now unable to open this ISO file with daemon tools. I am able to do it with Magic Iso, though when I start the install, the AIK install program asks me to put a cd in.
