Use Same Disc To Reinstall Genuine Window 7
Dec 14, 2009can I use that same disc to reinstall it as my "genuine" window 7? since the previous install already deleted my window vista..
The situation now is my current OS is window 7(upgraded from vista),can I reinstall it using the same method?(upgrade disc) without worrying the copyright and such?
I want to do so because I heard peoples said that if you have a partition with OS alone will grant better performance to the PC..so I tryin' to immediately after the installment of the new window 7, I want to do a partition for the OS alone only,separate it with the programs file and such to avoid the OS file mix around with other file..

Nov 22, 2012I am getting the 'This copy of win is not genuine' black screen again. I built my computer and bought win 7 home premium online from Microsoft. I received two disks in the mail and installed 64 bit version. I activated and was fine for a few months and got the black screen. This time, I added a usb drive to my comp. and got the black screen. I removed the usb device but the deed was done. I can't find the activation code so I can't activate on line. I have been through all the activation tutorials.

For some reason, even though it appears to be up and running with me logged in fine, it won't show me any IM's received or made. Every time I start up the laptop the desktop is black, there is no icons, and there is no bar at the bottom of the screen, and also the Libraries Window show up at the start up.
This laptop also did not come with any CD so I don't have an option to reformat do I? I think it maybe a virus but I'm not sure and I don't know what to do about it, when I try to open Mozzila Firefox from that Libraries Window i get a msg saying:

45-60secs Black Screen After Window Logo Before Desktop Load?
Oct 4, 2012I have an MSI Laptop which I bought about a year ago was running fine and at the beginning of September started having the issue of a black screen, for about 45-60 seconds, between the windows logo and the desktop loading.
The laptop has:
Intel Core i7 460M Processor 2.53Ghz
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
4G DDR3 memory
Nvidia GeForce GT 540M
15.6" 1366x768 HD
Intel® HD Graphic VGA

The above 3 files exist in the directories asked for so not sure why it can't load them.Although the laptop works fine when it's loaded, the additional time on this blackscreen is just winding me up as it didn't do it before.

I think some of the black screen video driver troubles are being caused by either incompatible Power Plan settings... or poor uninstalls of older video drivers... or both. this is only a suspicion and nowhere near a certainty, which is really why I'm putting it out there.
WMC Plays TV Audio But No Video Display (black Screen)
Mar 7, 2012I have a problem playing live TV using Windows Media Player. I can select different TV channels without a problem. I can hear the audio clearly. However, i can not watch anything as it displays a black screen. I originally used WinTV (version 7, with the newest updated driver and software) and works fine. For video card, I have a GTX260 with the latest version (295.73) installed. I've tried different versions of driver (259.xx to 285.xx) to no avail. When I tried setting up the TV tuner it detects the tuner as Analog Cable (tuner 1) which I assume is the WinTV tuner.

Toshiba Laptop Recently Began To Display A Black Screen Upon Start Up?
Jul 23, 2012My Toshiba laptop recently began to display a black screen upon start up. The starting windows screen appears, and then simply displays a black screen with cursor instead of login, and if I let it sit, it then restarts my whole system. However, I can force restart, and it allows me to run the computer in safe mode, and safe mode with networking support. My Mcafee Total Protection displays that my computer is at risk, but when I run a full system scan through safe mode, it produces no results. I then ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and it to yielded no results. Im thinking the best fix might be a nice baseball bat.

Mar 25, 2010I have a problem running Patran 2007 in Windows 7, the program seems to run fine, and I am able to open data bases and work on them. The problem comes in when I want to either save the database, open a new database or just open a current database. For each of these functions a new smaller window pops up so I can navigate to the correct file or path to click on it or whatever.
Initially the window opens as I would expect, but as soon as I move the mouse or try to use the keyboard to navigate, the window goes blank and I can do nothing with it. Strangely, using the compatibility setting to open the program in a 640x480 display, they do seem to work fine, but because of the small resolution, I cannot actually see the part of the window where the files are - so that also doesn't help me.
It seems as though there is something between Patran and Windows that one of them don't like, but it baffles me that everything else works fine. If any one else has had the same problem, maybe with a different program even, let me know what you did to resolve it. Otherwise any advise would be useful.

Jun 30, 2011I am using an Acer Aspire 5738G, which originally came with Windows Vista Home Premium. Later I got the free Windows 7 Home Premium update disc and never encountered any problem.
But since the last 1 month or so, I've been getting this 'Windows not genuine' message on a random basis. Microsoft Security Essentials says that it will disable itself within 30 days if the issue is not resolved. When I click on 'Resolve issue', an IE window is opened and takes me to Microsoft's website. When I do all the steps explained, everything goes back to normal and my Windows is again considered as genuine.

Also: When I go to 'open file location', the file's folder opens in the same window - highly annoying. In Vista, it opens in a new window. Anyway to change this behvior in Windows 7 to act like Vista, so the file opens in a new window?
Mouse Opens A Window, However Cannot Click Inside The Window
Aug 22, 2012I am running into an issue where I can open a window/program with my mouse however once the window is open I cannot click inside of it. The window becomes inactive. I also have noticed I cannot right click on my desktop to bring up the properties. I can right click on the window in the task bar to close it but not in the window. Since this is happening I am limited to command prompt. I ran sfc /scannow with no errors. I tried with 3 different mice. I booted the computer into safe mode with command prompt and brought up the device manager to show devices not in use, and when the device manager window opened I could click inside it! since I could use the window I uninstalled all mouse drivers, and reinstalled my microsoft wireless usb mouse driver.. while in this safe mode I changed my mouse properties to system default as I read somewhere that can reset things. Next I booted the computer in safe mode (without command prompt) and still the same thing. I was trying to do a restore point as well however my Kaspersky antivirus 2012 is preventing that as i cannot find a way to kill the program through command prompt.

Nov 19, 2009the display/monitor uses the generic driver for display and it is 1024×768 or 800x600 but it looks very odd it should be bigger because my screen is bigger. I have a acer monitor but is there something I can download to fix the display size?
