Apr 7, 2012I have been encountering a problem with a small netbook which has a 1024 x 600 screen resolution. The problem is that the window of some application is un-resizable ( I've also tried to download a small registery hack which makes it possible to resize un-resizable windows, but it seems like it won't work with that one)So, as you know, it is possible to partially hide a window on the left, right and bottom borders of the screen, but it is impossible on the top border, where the window would just go down again (while it can't be maximized though ).Is there any way to make it possible to hide a part of the windows over the top border so I can see the bottom of the window ?

For some reason, even though it appears to be up and running with me logged in fine, it won't show me any IM's received or made. If I hover over the icon in the taskbar, I can see I have a conversation window open, but if I click on it, nothing happens. I can see the main page no problem, but never any conversation window.

May 19, 2011I've just got a brand new laptop (Sony Vaio). I'm trying to connect to the internet through my existing home wireless network which a Macbook, Macbook Air, Toshiba Windows 7 laptop and iMac in the house can all connect to and access no problems.I've got an ADSL modem set up in bridge mode and an Airport Extreme as router and wireless access point.I can connect to the router fine. I am assigned an IP address fine. When I open a browser window the internet is very slow or times out.When I ping the router it usually times out or I get a very high ping.I've tried so many things to fix it I'm getting desperate! including:
-Disabled and uninstalled firewall and security software
-Changed wireless channels
-Disabled Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
-Setup a static ip and specified dns server

Jan 15, 2013If a key is pressed down for longer than 2 secs, it apparently stops working, i.e. the display halts. If I release the key, the (apparently unprinted)characters appear at once. If I hold it down long enough, it even beeps. This happens with all the keys including backspace/arrow keys making my browsing experience miserable. (i.e hitting backspace on google box, the deletion seems to stop abruptly. But when I release it, I see multiple characters deleted at once)
This is reproduced in Firefox/Wordpad/MS-Word (At its worst in Firefox, much better in Notepad, but still there.) I rolled back to a 1 year old backup image via CloneZilla but the problem still exists. Probably its a hardware issue? (My laptop is now about 2 yrs old, it has switchable graphics, 512mb amd raedon card). Just tried it again with headphones on, it gives me a 'drrrrr-r' sound. Its even happening now as I'm typing this at a moderately fast pace.
"File Open" Window Doesn't Display Correctly
Mar 25, 2010I have a problem running Patran 2007 in Windows 7, the program seems to run fine, and I am able to open data bases and work on them. The problem comes in when I want to either save the database, open a new database or just open a current database. For each of these functions a new smaller window pops up so I can navigate to the correct file or path to click on it or whatever.
Initially the window opens as I would expect, but as soon as I move the mouse or try to use the keyboard to navigate, the window goes blank and I can do nothing with it. Strangely, using the compatibility setting to open the program in a 640x480 display, they do seem to work fine, but because of the small resolution, I cannot actually see the part of the window where the files are - so that also doesn't help me.
It seems as though there is something between Patran and Windows that one of them don't like, but it baffles me that everything else works fine. If any one else has had the same problem, maybe with a different program even, let me know what you did to resolve it. Otherwise any advise would be useful.

Mouse Opens A Window, However Cannot Click Inside The Window
Aug 22, 2012I am running into an issue where I can open a window/program with my mouse however once the window is open I cannot click inside of it. The window becomes inactive. I also have noticed I cannot right click on my desktop to bring up the properties. I can right click on the window in the task bar to close it but not in the window. Since this is happening I am limited to command prompt. I ran sfc /scannow with no errors. I tried with 3 different mice. I booted the computer into safe mode with command prompt and brought up the device manager to show devices not in use, and when the device manager window opened I could click inside it! since I could use the window I uninstalled all mouse drivers, and reinstalled my microsoft wireless usb mouse driver.. while in this safe mode I changed my mouse properties to system default as I read somewhere that can reset things. Next I booted the computer in safe mode (without command prompt) and still the same thing. I was trying to do a restore point as well however my Kaspersky antivirus 2012 is preventing that as i cannot find a way to kill the program through command prompt.

Nov 19, 2009the display/monitor uses the generic driver for display and it is 1024×768 or 800x600 but it looks very odd it should be bigger because my screen is bigger. I have a acer monitor but is there something I can download to fix the display size?

Sep 22, 2012Windows 7 64 turns off the monitor 1 signal after startup. At login, it powers off monitor 1 and powers on monitor 2. Windows 7 behaves as though dual display is working even though monitor 1 does not display. It's the same for single display, the monitor will not work on cable 1 except at startup.Both 'Extend these displays' in Windows Screen Resolution and 'Extend' in the Nvidia Control Panel is selected. And changing which one is primary does not turn on monitor 1. Nor does switching the position of display 1 in either (ex.left/right/top/bottom).GeForce 8400 GS; Dual Monitor Solution 59 pin (DMS-59) to 2 VGA adapter -tried two of these adapter cables.atest Driver: 306.23 - installed a clean reset install of the latest Nvidia driver released last week.Same Resolution: 2 of the 4 monitors I have tried have the exact same 'recommended' resolution (1280X 1024), both 60Hz, and even chose 16 bit color for both instead of 32 to reduce resources.
Linux worked: Dual display worked immediately when I tried it in Ubuntu 10. So, it's not the hardware. It works in Ubuntu 12 too but not properly -it won't transfer windows across displays. My Windows 7 64 is an upgrade from Vista 64. One person in another forum with the same problem resolved theirs by reinstalling Windows 7. But another got the same problem only after a fresh clean install of Windows 7 64 with the same GeForce 8400 GS and DMS-59 when it had previously worked in Vista. It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing.For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.
