Outlook 2010 Auto Address Complete After Restart?
Aug 10, 2011I have been researching the problem Outlook 2010 has had with NOT remembering email addresses for the Auto complete after the program is shut down and restarted.

View 1 RepliesI need to remake the auto complete cache on a computer, and I'm using the method of sending a blank email to all of my contacts while disconnected from the internet. I tried this and it's worked with a list of a few contacts (about 5), but I'm wondering if Outlook might crash when I attempt this with the full sized contact list, which is about 100 or so total entries.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just moved a client over to a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2010 from Windows XP with Office 2007. This client is having an issue with auto-complete contacts. This person has the need to be very productive and does not want to waste time going through their contacts to find each individual email address they wish to send email to. I have been looking around and the only thing I can find is about a .nk2 file being hidden on the old machine. Right now all I have is dial in access, and I would really like to have this fixed for them this weekend if at all possible. Is there any application out that works with Office 2010, where I can recreate a auto complete list so that every time they start to type the name, they can go ahead and have that automatically populate the TO: field? Or is there a way to make their contacts autocomplete
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I typed an address in my To: and tabbed down to type my message. The address is validated and underlined as I'm typing my email, but I noticed I typo'd the address. Now I go back up to the address in the To: field to fix it (delete 1 character) and I can't seem to edit it? If I right click I can bring up an Outlook contact card, where it can't be edited. Or I can bring it up in a Outlook contacts page but it can't be edited there either - and it wants me to save as an outlook contact there which I don't want to do for this one off address.
In OL 2007 you just dbl clicked on the underlined address in the To: and it popped up with a dialog box that allowed you to change the address and the display name.
I have a specific email contact who can be reached directly through my Gmail on Google but every time I send directly from Outlook 2010 the email dies as "Invalid Recipient". This applies even if I am replying to a received email from that person so it is not a typo or similar personal error and it is the only contact which behaves like this.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen multiple accounts are added on Outlook 2010 and you create a new email, autocomplete in the 'to' field shows suggestions from every account. Is it possible to only show suggestions relevant to the account the email is being sent from. For example, if I had my personal account and a customer services account, when I go to send an email from my personal account, every email address who has ever communicated with the customer services account shows which is quite risky.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving successfully moved my address book (.WAB format) to w7 and converted it to .CSV format I can get as far as "Select the Contacts folder that you want to import to" as in the website [URL] but when I click "next" the box is blank where a Contacts folder should be. In outlook 2003 I have some contacts which I added manually to address book so there should be an address book of some sort.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have over 13 years of Outlook Express folders and addresses that I desperately need to convert to Outlook 2007. I should have imported them into Outlook before I made the "Easy File Transfer" to the new Win 7 machine, but didn't know I needed to do that. Several years ago I had imported the files into Outlook, although that data did transfer it is now way out-of-date and full of duplicates. The up-to-date data is still in my old machine and also in an external hard drive backup. I have isolated the Outlook Express personal folders into .dbx format and the addresses into .wab format. Is there a way this can be reformatted into Outlook? Or is there some other way? I would probably also need to delete what is already in Outlook first, or I would have many more duplicates.

I've been trying to create a Task in Outlook from a Word Document that I have created on this computer. The idea is that a shortcut to the document is created as an Outlook Task. Click on the shortcut, and voila - there is the document. The "Create Microsoft Office Task" icon DOES send the document to Outlook as a Shortcut in a Task, however, when I open the task, Outlook says:"Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments: Shortcut to 'document name'."It's NOT an unsafe attachment; Outlook WILL OPEN this document if I send it as an email attachment. Outlook will open .docx files types.
I am trying to move one pst file from one laptop which has Outlook 2010 32 bit to another laptop which has Outlook 2010 64 bit installed, steps taken 1) Copied the pst file from the User/AppData/Microsoft/Outlook folder to usb. 2) Pasted the file from usb into User/Documents folder. 3) Tried to open the file in Outlook and I get the error that Outlook encountered errors while opening the file. Now how is that possible when the file is working perfectly in one laptop but when I copy and paste it into another it gets corrupted? Is it due to 32 bit to 64 bit outlook? I tried to repair it using scanpst and it brought back few mails?

I'm trying to retrieve archived emails that i backed up on an external hard drive from a previous computer, the files are .pst which is an outlook format but i keep on getting an error message saying the file is not an Outlook data file (.pst). i dont have any other way to retrieve these emails since they were deleted from the server and its about 1.5 years of work emails. Not sure what to do? should i move the files from the external driver to a different location on the computer and open them, or are they corrupted and need to be fixed?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Firefox browser.I like the "autocomplete" which routinely fills in user name and password, but recently ran into a problem - on a rarely-used but important site (Doctor's surgery) I forgot my user name and password.Retrieved user name from surgery (which hasn't changed), BUT they gave me a temporary password
Logged in - autocomplete filled it in after first character entered, as was a password BUT it isn't the "right" password - I now have to over-ride it every log-in.So - how does one edit the stored password for this site, alternatively, delete the whole existing entry and let it offer to remember it from new?
When I type my login for gmail and tab to password it fills in automatically? Is there a way to view it? Using Internet explorer

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe set up three new terminals this week at the office; they're all running Win 7 Pro 32-bit. I set them all up simultaneously (literally sat at a desk and entered the same keystrokes at each of them), so I don't see any obvious reason that one is behaving differently from the other two. The essential problem is that the terminal doesn't see the Internet. Here are all the particulars that I think might be interesting, listed in no particular order:
- The terminal ran fine for several hours. Email access, Internet access, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. At that point, the user called me to show me a dialog box. I used System Restore to go back in time to 9 a.m. in case the user had somehow managed to do anything (though she's not an admin).
- IPv6 is disabled.
- The workplace uses Static IPs. The IP address is entered correctly in the IPv4 properties (x.x.x.213), but at cmd / ipconfig, I get this result: "Autoconfiguration IPv4 address: 169.254.95.187"
- In Network and Sharing Center, the network (which is only known as Unidentified Network) is set to type Public. When I reset it to type Work and reboot, it resets to type Public.
I attempted to install Windows 7 x64 RC version on my new desktop, and about 20 minutes into the "Complete Installation" section my computer crashed for a reason of which I'm not aware (I saw a blue screen with writing for about a second or two before my computer restarted). I now get the following error after windows attempts to "start services":
"Install Windows. The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation".
I've now clicked "OK" about 10 times, with my computer restarting properly each time, and the same error pops up every time.
I have a number of systems with various flavors of Windows 7 installed - x64, x86, Home Premium, Ultimate, and so on. Some were factory installs, some were installed by me at various times.Although I manually configured an IPv6 address on each system, they all exhibit the problem of using an automatically-generated IPv6 address instead of the one I have configured. This makes it difficult to connect to servers which use IP addresses for access control, as the automatically-generated addresses change on reboot.[code] one which I have hard-coded, an auto-generated one marked "preferred" and another auto-generated one which is not marked "preferred". When I try to access another IPv6 host on the same LAN, the connection comes from the 2430:1432:1:2:60ee:fe68:8697:cf8a address.I've searched for a way to force Windows to use the IPv6 address I configured and I haven't found anything that worked.
