Logged in - autocomplete filled it in after first character entered, as was a password BUT it isn't the "right" password - I now have to over-ride it every log-in.So - how does one edit the stored password for this site, alternatively, delete the whole existing entry and let it offer to remember it from new?
Auto-complete In Office 2010?
Jan 8, 2011I just moved a client over to a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2010 from Windows XP with Office 2007. This client is having an issue with auto-complete contacts. This person has the need to be very productive and does not want to waste time going through their contacts to find each individual email address they wish to send email to. I have been looking around and the only thing I can find is about a .nk2 file being hidden on the old machine. Right now all I have is dial in access, and I would really like to have this fixed for them this weekend if at all possible. Is there any application out that works with Office 2010, where I can recreate a auto complete list so that every time they start to type the name, they can go ahead and have that automatically populate the TO: field? Or is there a way to make their contacts autocomplete

Oct 18, 2011I need to remake the auto complete cache on a computer, and I'm using the method of sending a blank email to all of my contacts while disconnected from the internet. I tried this and it's worked with a list of a few contacts (about 5), but I'm wondering if Outlook might crash when I attempt this with the full sized contact list, which is about 100 or so total entries.

Mar 16, 2012We set up three new terminals this week at the office; they're all running Win 7 Pro 32-bit. I set them all up simultaneously (literally sat at a desk and entered the same keystrokes at each of them), so I don't see any obvious reason that one is behaving differently from the other two. The essential problem is that the terminal doesn't see the Internet. Here are all the particulars that I think might be interesting, listed in no particular order:
- The terminal ran fine for several hours. Email access, Internet access, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. At that point, the user called me to show me a dialog box. I used System Restore to go back in time to 9 a.m. in case the user had somehow managed to do anything (though she's not an admin).
- IPv6 is disabled.
- The workplace uses Static IPs. The IP address is entered correctly in the IPv4 properties (x.x.x.213), but at cmd / ipconfig, I get this result: "Autoconfiguration IPv4 address: 169.254.95.187"
- In Network and Sharing Center, the network (which is only known as Unidentified Network) is set to type Public. When I reset it to type Work and reboot, it resets to type Public.
PC To Show A Boston IP Address
Dec 16, 2012I need my laptop to appear as a massachusetts/boston IP address. I am from boston but im currently in costa rica... i want to listen to the patriots game but the radio station that broadcasts it online is only accessible to regional listeners. (according to their info page).
I dont know for sure how it works, since this will be the first time i tried listening to it outside boston. But i want to get a workaround figured out before the game starts just in case i have a chance to make it work.
I am wondering if i can get around this with something like TOR browser or something similar... as far as i can tell TOR assigns a random IP but nothing i can choose.

Some were factory installs, some were installed by me at various times.Although I manually configured an IPv6 address on each system, they all exhibit the problem of using an automatically-generated IPv6 address instead of the one I have configured. This makes it difficult to connect to servers which use IP addresses for access control, as the automatically-generated addresses change on reboot.[code] one which I have hard-coded, an auto-generated one marked "preferred" and another auto-generated one which is not marked "preferred". When I try to access another IPv6 host on the same LAN, the connection comes from the 2430:1432:1:2:60ee:fe68:8697:cf8a address.I've searched for a way to force Windows to use the IPv6 address I configured and I haven't found anything that worked.

Jul 7, 2012My internet connection shows 'no internet access' even though my ISP shows the connection is coming into the house just fine. I usually use a router (NetGear-WNR3500U) but I right now I have the Ethernet connection plugged directly into my PC. I tried directly plugging into my laptop and the internet works just fine. So I know the problem resides in the PC.
Some troubleshooting things I have tried.
-Power cycled my modem, router and PC.
-Repinged my connection from my ISP(Comcast Xfinity)
-Used the reset option on the router and the modem
-I was walked through the internet options needed with the tech support from my ISP to make sure DHCP was enabled and every other setting was correct, and he cleared me that all settings were correct.
-Tried ipconfig commands to /renew and /release my IP When I tried ipconfig /renew I get the error 'An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server'
-Restored my PC to a restore point where the Internet was working
All of these options did not work.
What I think the problem is and I am not sure how to fix it, when I run the ipconfig /all command my Auto configuration IPv4 Address shows 169.254.112.76 which I was told is a router IP address even though I am plugged directly from the modem to my PC with an Ethernet cord. So I think that's my problem? But I am not sure.
Stop Auto-hide Taskbar From Being Auto-ticked?
May 20, 2012I bought a Asus U36J laptop back in April of last year and ever since then I have been beating around an issue that I dont seem to be able to resolve one way or the other. When ever the laptop is on battery and in battery saving mode it has my taskbar on autohide. If I turn that off, then it stays off right until it is put back into battery saving mode at which point it is "magically" ticked on again.
Is there no way to simply disable that feature, as its annoying me greatly. I know its tied into the battery saving desktop, and I want to keep the battery saving desktop but want a full taskbar all the time. I found a supposed fix to make that happen, and while it actually makes the taskbar appear all the time, it still is a bad hack as any windows I have open wont "attach" to the taskbar but attaches to the buttom of the screen.
So for the love of god is there no sane way for me to keep the battery saving desktop but get rid of the autohiding taskbar. Otherwise I know Asus most likely wont be my laptop of choice next time aroumd.

HDDs Show In BIOS, But Do Not Show In Disk Management
Oct 14, 2011just completed a first-time new Windows 7 PC build. Successful installation of Windows 7 Pro on WD 600GB 10000 system drive. Went back and installed 4 additional HDD. (2) WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM and (2) WD Caviar 7200 500GB HDD from XP system that were used for storage.
BIOS sees all HDDs, but are not viewable in Disk Management.
System Specs:
Antec Nine Hundred
ASUS P6X58D-E MOBO

However, only three are visible in Disk Management. Missing (1) WD 500GB (previously used on WinXP system) and (1) new WD 1T.

Sep 24, 2012I was using my desktop like normal then an error came up saying that there was a hdd failure, and that i needed to scan for errors. all my files disappeared and only this error would come up. There would be hundreds of the same msg spamed on my screen. I scaned my hdd for errors using my Bios/Advanced options and no errors came up. I decided to take out the hdd and put it into my External Hdd bay to hook up to my laptop to extract the data off it.When i hooked it up to my laptop it showed up empty. I went into folder options and clicked on show hidden files and folders. Everything came up but it was grey/transparent. I then copied the files to another hdd for backup.
Then i formatted the hdd and put on a fresh new OS. Id like to mention i have a second internal drive that i use for backups but it wasnt backed up recently when this issue happen so i had to take out the main drive and use it as an external to back up onto another external drive.so then when i click on my second internal drive after the reinstall of the new OS it shows empty i have to go in and show hidden files and folders.. now they show again transparent. also i plug in my external to get the recent back up and all those files are still transparent when i move them to my desktop that is freshly OS installed they are still grey/transparent and i have to keep the show hidden files and folders to view them.. so its all my music, pics, documents etc they are all greyed out..i tried to copy my backup IE favs into my new IE browser and they wont show up because they are hiden it shows it copied to the favs folder but in ie i cannot view them if that makes any sense.
Startup Does Not Complete
Jan 1, 2013I've started having a problem on my Dell desktop PC with Windows 7 Home Premium. Sometimes, when I attempt to start the PC, the process will not finish and it just hangs. It seems to happen at the same point in the process. After the welcome screen, the wallpaper and shortcut icons load. If they load all at the same time and the tray items show, the start up will be successful.However, sometimes the process stops right after the wallpaper loads. Sometimes some of the icons will appear with others as only white icons. Sometimes, none of the icons will appear. If I let it set for awhile, nothing happens - the blue circle continues to spin, but nothing else happens. When I attempt to shut down or click any of the other icons in the quick start tray, the blue circle just shows on top of them. No matter what I try at this point, nothing works. The only thing I can do is hold down the power button to shut down. Then, when I try to startup again, I get the error message that Windows was not properly shut down and I either "start windows normally" or go into "safe mode". I haven't installed any hardware since this started, and I've tried to isolate if a certain program has caused this. Sometimes I will uninstall the last program installed while I am in safe mode, but I find that this was not the problem program. When I shut down from safe mode, Windows closes properly and then I can try and startup normally again. This is sometimes successful, sometimes not.I've tried doing a full scan with Norton Internet Security and Malwarebytes while in safe mode, but they both show no issues. I also tried a startup repair in Windows, but that also showed no issues.

Sure, the enthusiasts will check out 3rd party options - like they do with browsers.
You would think the big name must have considered an anti - trust case.
Maybe they didn't go ahead as some versions of 7 won't include it ( you're not very likely to see those).
Or because they didn't want to upset the MS lovers - witness the vitriol heaped on Opera by people who should know better.
It was available in Vista - but only the higher priced versions - people chose to pay extra for that.

Install Not Complete After New CPU
Oct 18, 2010I was successfully running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my machine as it was with a AMD Athlon dual core processor, on my MSI 770T-C45 motherboard.I purchased and installed a AMD Phenom II X6 1055t which IS supported by this motherboard (after bios flash).
I flashed the bios using the correct procedures, and any time i wold log into windows i would get BSOD and the message "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" and also down below "rushtop64.sys" something... i would post the dump, but i have since formatted.I couldnt solve that issue, the computer would run fine in safe mode.i had not changed any other hardware. I googled for ages, and saw that if i was to change processor to more cores, that i should re format and reinstall windows.I got my windows disk, tried to do a clean install. Once it "completing install" and restarts, all i get is a blank black screen with the ( _ ) cursor type thing flashing in the top left of the screen and the computer freezes.
Complete Lock Up At 42%?
Dec 4, 2010My neighbors computer is completely virus ridden. An IT person came out and wanted to charge $400 for a clean reinstall so i said i would do it She has windows xp and i recommended that she purchase windows 7. After purchasing the upgrade pack i put it in and selected custom (the clean reinstall option of the two).It gets to the "expanding windows files" part and then locks up at 42% every time. I cannot move the mouse. how to get through this? could it be a problem with the disk?

Dec 4, 2009I have a new Dell XPS 13 (Windows 7 64-bit) and am pleased with it thus far. I have successfully created a system image on DVDs (Using Windows utility).
Twice I have tried the Windows Backup utility to back up all user files (what Windows selects) to DVDs and it does not complete! The utility gets to 66% or 67% running for approx 4-6 hours and does not prompt to insert another DVD (the 2nd). The total size of data to backup is approx 11GB. The second time I disabled the antivirus software (MSE) hoping that was causing the problem.
Any suggestions or solutions?
I'd like to backup to DVDs as I have plenty and do not have an external HD available.
PDF Complete Replacement ?
Jan 1, 2013My HP p6710f came with �PDF Complete� which lets you save a single page of a PDF as its own PDF file. This option comes up when you right click on a PDF and choose Print & then the printer, which is PDF Complete.However I did not know this was a trial program & mine just ran out. Every month I generate a PDF with several pages, but each page is for a different person. I found it convenient to print or save each person�s page separately in order to email to them.
I need a replacement for PDF Complete & was hoping to find something which has the same functions. I have seem some free programs for creating PDF files but am unable to figure out if they can save individual pages as new PDFs.
