Gmail Standard View Fails To Load In IE8 From Favorite
Dec 4, 2009Periodically I have problems loading the Gmail inbox from an IE8 favorite, if using Gmail "standard view". Gmail "basic HTML" view doesn't have the problem. Likewise Firefox 3.5.5 nor Chrome 3.0.195.33 have the problem in either Gmail standard of basic view. IE8 version: 8.0.7600.16385. Happens with both 32-bit and 64-bit IE8.
Problem only happens if loading from an IE8 favorite, not if manually going to Gmail and logging in.
Typically the problem manifests as an indefinite wait while loading Gmail. However sometimes one of the following two errors happen:

Is There A Way To Stop Auto-complete
Mar 13, 2012I love the game "Free Cell" which comes with most computers.I do not like the way it makes moves automatically and finishes the game for you.I would like to be able to make my own decisions and do the final moves'myself.Is there any way to over-ride the automatic features, or is there an alternate version that can be downloaded.

Logged in - autocomplete filled it in after first character entered, as was a password BUT it isn't the "right" password - I now have to over-ride it every log-in.So - how does one edit the stored password for this site, alternatively, delete the whole existing entry and let it offer to remember it from new?
Auto-complete In Office 2010?
Jan 8, 2011I just moved a client over to a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2010 from Windows XP with Office 2007. This client is having an issue with auto-complete contacts. This person has the need to be very productive and does not want to waste time going through their contacts to find each individual email address they wish to send email to. I have been looking around and the only thing I can find is about a .nk2 file being hidden on the old machine. Right now all I have is dial in access, and I would really like to have this fixed for them this weekend if at all possible. Is there any application out that works with Office 2010, where I can recreate a auto complete list so that every time they start to type the name, they can go ahead and have that automatically populate the TO: field? Or is there a way to make their contacts autocomplete

May 6, 2009I recently bought a maxtor 500 gb external hdd and i just cant get it to work with windows 7, i got a computer at home where i want to keep it that has windows 7 rc , I have tryed everything i can think of to make it work but nothing does, I cant see it in my computer or with the explorer, but I can see it with computer management, It doesn´t have a drive letter or NTFS and I just cant do anything to it, I cant format it then I get the error "An unexpected error has occured. check the system event log for more information on the error. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console then restart Disk Management or restart the computer."Now im getting pretty annoyed with trying different things on it but can´t seem to make it work, now on the other hand it does work on my laptop computer wich has Windows vista, and it works fine, also works on another computer I have that has Windows XP, can anyone please help me with this problem I would prefer to not have to format it since I did put alot of data on it from my other computers but if I have to then so be it .

Well first off the computer was running Windows xp64 pro and I performed clean install of windows 7 64BIT, Everything was working great and installed all updates up to sp1. Then I got a "twitch" in my brain and deciced to update my bios which I have never done nor even really used bios before and even better I updated when I was using windows 7. I was nable to open safari and I think other things were glitching out but cant remember. So of ourse now I know that my bios settings changed with the update and I attempted to reset and oll back and now have the old bios reinstalled and have tried many different settings with no change in installation. So I thought maby another clean install will fix my mistakes.and now after many many attempts to install both 32 AND 64BIT Windows 7 I found that using Shift f10 and going to device manager I can see that only the VGA DRIVER has a question mark and there is not a display drivers folder. I have tried onboard with no card installed with same results. I have also tried 3 different video cards and even ownloaded the driver for them for windows 7 64 and 32 from microsoft update catalog and it will say it can not be installed at the load driver option during windows 7 install, it will find the driver and put it on the list so it knows what Im trying to install just wont install it.(like it doesn't recognize the hardware)So im going crazy because I know windows 7 will run on this maching I just dont know what to do to make it work again other then find a working vga driver or video card that will install its drivers during the install from the windows 7 disc.I have tried:2 different hd both formated with windows 7 disc from cmd prompt disabled everything in bios I am not needing for installinstalling from usb with nothing attached to motherboard except a video card because I dont think onboard is compatable.Have tried to install in safe mode tried to disable vga during completing installation tried disabling usb after first restart and removed usb.I have tried installing in a different computer then puting hd back in and repair says it can not repair.Well im stuck believing I need to have a working VGA driver for installation to complete or it is not recognizing my card to know to install the driver.I have two VGA cards to try.Geforce 8500GT Geforce 7300LE Also my ethernet driver will not install ither so I dont have internet when using shift f10 to attempt installing driver over internet. I have been keeping it disables to prevent a problem there also.

Stop Auto-hide Taskbar From Being Auto-ticked?
May 20, 2012I bought a Asus U36J laptop back in April of last year and ever since then I have been beating around an issue that I dont seem to be able to resolve one way or the other. When ever the laptop is on battery and in battery saving mode it has my taskbar on autohide. If I turn that off, then it stays off right until it is put back into battery saving mode at which point it is "magically" ticked on again.
Is there no way to simply disable that feature, as its annoying me greatly. I know its tied into the battery saving desktop, and I want to keep the battery saving desktop but want a full taskbar all the time. I found a supposed fix to make that happen, and while it actually makes the taskbar appear all the time, it still is a bad hack as any windows I have open wont "attach" to the taskbar but attaches to the buttom of the screen.
So for the love of god is there no sane way for me to keep the battery saving desktop but get rid of the autohiding taskbar. Otherwise I know Asus most likely wont be my laptop of choice next time aroumd.
