View 1 RepliesThe bios is detecting all of them but Windows 7 is not. The floppy's power is on all the time and it is enabled in the bios. My 3rd hard drive is not being detected, however I did delete some windows 7 files and it was working before that. And I have no idea about my dvd drive. My other drive is working though.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate on an Asus UL80J. When asking where I want to install windows, I get "No drives were found. Click to load a driver". The drive is new, has no problems, and is detected in the BIOS fine. Also, my Windows XP CD detects the drive just fine. I've tried both options in the BIOS for setting SATA to IDE and AHCI. I assume I'm missing a SATA driver needed at installation time, but I can't find one online or from the manufacturer.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi just built a computer today. and its the famous windows 7 not detecting hard drive but first here is my set up
amd fx 4100
gigabyte 970a-d3 mobo
kingston 4 gb ram (1 stick)
WD 500gb hard drive
now its the famous install. everything is brand new the new computer can not get any updates its not hooked to the internet, nor do i have a flash drive im on a crappy laptop right now that is surprisingly not fried yet, so i cant do anything updating yet, all i want to do is install windows 7 to my new pc, but it says no driver found, ive even tried putting in the mobo disc like gigabyte said to and still nothing. what can i do? my bios recognizes my cd/dvd rom drive and it also recognizes my hard drive. its all there. but windows 7 wont. is there something in the bios i need to change, i called microsoft and they told me i needed to reformat my hard drive but wouldnt tell me how, gigabyte told me the same thing and the computer store where i bought all my stuff wont touch my computer unless i give them $41 for diagnostics and $41 for install, the guy there is rude and doesnt seem to care about customers who made a HUGE purchase 2 hours before. everybuddy is saying update this update that but i cant the computer has no OS. it has boot screen, bios and windows install.
my pendrive name is cruzer edge 8gb it detected in my computer but i can't use it properly.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a SSD (Solid State Drive) it is a Samsung 64GB. My computer is an Asus with an i5 Processor.
Anyway I know the SSD works fine because currently I have Ubuntu downloaded on it, running just fine. For some reason however, Windows 7 is not detecting my drive. Under my computer, or upon booting from a disk, it will not detect it. The reason I am wanting to detect it, is because I would like to backup windows 7 onto my SSD and boot from there.
I installed Windows 7 64-bit on my computer which has only 1 hard drive (640GB). I partitioned it using XP to have 4 partitions: 1) XP Partition 2) Linux Partition 3) Linux Swap 4) Windows 7.The problem is Windows 7 cannot detect any partition besides it's own partition, so I cannot access any of my data from the other partitions (XP and ubuntu --- I don't care about ubuntu but I need the data on the XP partition). I know the other partitions exist since I can access XP still, and I believe XP can detect all 4 partitions.I went to start->menu then searched for partition and selected "Create and format hard disk partitions" and it actually detected all the partitions. The problem was the other partitions did not have drive letters associated with them.So I just right clicked and changed the drive letters.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new computer and connected my old hard drive to copy files across to my new one. Both drives had Windows 7 installed and while staring up I had to select one to boot from. I have since removed my old hard drive but am still asked to select one to boot from even though there is now only one connected. How do I remove my old hard drive so that it will automatically boot from the new one?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI purchased Dell Inspiron i14z Ultrabook, it has a hybrid SSD, it have 32gb SSD and the rest 470gb hard drive. It had Windows 8 and I couldn't stand it...I changed the BIOS settings from Intel Smart Response to AHCI, used Wipe Drive, (which detected the hybrid SSD as two separate hard drives) to format both hard drives, installed Windows 7 on the 32gb Hard Drive (I assume this is the SSD part), and everything went great. But when I click MyComputer, it only shows 32GB as my hard drive, how do I set the settings where it would show the rest of the hard drive that is not SSD?Whenever I change the AHCI setting back to Intel Smart Response Technology, it gives me a brief Blue Screen of Death briefly, then restarts in a loop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, I have run out of ideas on this..My setup is Windows 7 64, P35 chipset, 4g ddr2,Evga 8600GT dual dvi with dvi to vga converter s-video out, Q6600, 160g pata hdd and a Gateway EV700 (17").
I cannot get Windows 7 to show the desktop, or detect the monitor. I have an LCD TV hooked to the S-video connector and that is the only way I can see the desktop.
The main monitor will show everything up to the point of showing the desktop..that is where the mon goes blank and I have to look at the TV.
Someone suggested I try XP driver for the monitor, but it will not install and just gives a dialog saying that winxp and above already has the drivers nessesary.
I have tried the Windows 7 64 drivers from MS update, Nvidia, and EVGA (both Windows 7 and Vista 64 drivers).
I have tried both monitor outputs. nothing.
I have a KVM which was not an issue for XP, but I am not sure about Windows 7.
Taking out the KVM is my last resort, as I am running out of ideas.
I also tried using an old Diamond Stealth PCI card to no avail....It wouldn't even post with it.
If I had a VGA to S-video converter, I would try that, but for now, I am stuck trying to use Windows 7 on a tv screen that is only 12".
At 1024x768 it's not much fun trying to read anything on it.
I forgot to add that the Nvidia ctrl panel does not show multi display menu.
Recently i upgraded win XP to win 7 with a format and fresh install. Though after the install, Win 7 did not pick up my onboard sound card or my usb modem. I have the drivers for them but how can i install them if Win 7 wont pick them up? they dont appear in the device manager at all. Win XP had no problem at all with this. Is it possible that they hardware is to old to be recognised by windows 7? i dont have the XP software to switch back so hopefully ill be able to fix this with assistance.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy brother was trying to restore his friends laptop and during the process the power got disconnected and the C Drive got wiped--I believe. I decided to fix it I would do a fresh install of Windows 7.
Everything was going great and I got the recovery disk to install, but my problem was the Hard drive wasn't showing up as unallocated disk space. The drive did show up, but not as any free space. I tried to do some tutorials in diskpart to fix the drive, but to no avail.
Now, I can't even get windows, or BIOS to detect the drive. The last diskpart command I did was to reformat it. It wasn't the quick reformat, but the one that takes an extremely long time. That's when I noticed it wasn't detecting anymore.
Here's some pics of what I'm seeing:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've lost all my usb drivers and windows will not connect or recognize any usb device when I install it. Here's the message I get from device manager:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). I've tried everything possible to correct the situation even reloading the intel chipset from Asus web site. Windows no longer will detect a flash drive or external usb drive. View 1 Replies View RelatedI run a Nvidia GTX 275 Works flawlessly even if i use both ports on the back to use dual monitors.
If however i plug my Nvidia 8800GT in the second PCI-E x16 Slot the computer only recognizes the 8800GT which is in the second port and there is no GTX 275 showing in the Device Manager or Boot Menu.
So basically i plug in my second video card and my primary card just vanishes from the computer like its not even there.
Has anyone got an idea what could be the cause of this?
I have checked the drivers and its the same drivers at the moment for the 8800GT and the GTX 275.
I want to be able to run my 19" Widescreen Monitor on my GTX 275 and use my 8800GT Card for my tiny 15" Screen so i can play Games on my Primary card and be able to have Website open and viewable all the same.
(I'm not trying to run SLi as i know you need 2 of the same GPU and your motherboard needs to be able to support it, I don't like SLi so its all good so far.)
When I was running windows vista, I could display my laptop on my TV with no issues. After installing windows 7, the TV does not detect any input. I tried pressing Fn F8, and windows P and the laptop says its switching dispays but the TV does not react. I just updated my NVidia drivers. Any ideas?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to plug a USB camera into the back of my computer, but the computer won't acknowledge that I plugged it in. I don't get an error message or anything, it simply doesn't seem to notice anything. (I've tried it with a flash drive, too—same deal.)
I'm not missing drivers for the device itself, as I've plugged them both into other ports and they work fine. It seems that the port itself is the problem. I just reinstalled Windows yesterday after getting infected with a System Fix virus, so that may have something to do with it.
EDIT: It may have something to do with my BIOS, as I changed my boot order for the reinstall. I'm not aware of anything else being changed, but it's possible.
I don't know what happen, but im having problems with my external hard drive. I have 3 partition in it, but only the first one is detecting, the other two doesn't appear at all then a sign pops up saying i have to format it, i hit cancel and all 3 drives disappear. seems like hard drive failure. I have a lot of important data on the other drives, is there any way to recover it myself? I really don't want to pay 500+ dollars to recover the data off the drive.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI no longer can stream media from my PC to my PS3. It used to work a couple of months ago and it still works with my dads computer. Both mine and my dads PC are windows 7. I've compared the settings between the two PC's and could see no difference. I've tried several different media server programs including vuze, ps3 media server and windows media player and none of them work.
I've made sure all the media streaming and advanced sharing settings are correct and the proper services are started and temporarily disabled windows firewall. As far as I can see its an underlining issue and not one on the surface.
