I run a Nvidia GTX 275 Works flawlessly even if i use both ports on the back to use dual monitors.
If however i plug my Nvidia 8800GT in the second PCI-E x16 Slot the computer only recognizes the 8800GT which is in the second port and there is no GTX 275 showing in the Device Manager or Boot Menu.
So basically i plug in my second video card and my primary card just vanishes from the computer like its not even there.
Has anyone got an idea what could be the cause of this?
I have checked the drivers and its the same drivers at the moment for the 8800GT and the GTX 275.
I want to be able to run my 19" Widescreen Monitor on my GTX 275 and use my 8800GT Card for my tiny 15" Screen so i can play Games on my Primary card and be able to have Website open and viewable all the same.
(I'm not trying to run SLi as i know you need 2 of the same GPU and your motherboard needs to be able to support it, I don't like SLi so its all good so far.)
anyone knows how the HD 2500 compares to the 3000 and 4000? I'm mostly looking for improved video transcoding compared to my Pentium G620 and don't really need the "gaming" graphics capabilities. But I haven't been able to find any information as to how the HD 2500 compare.
i have got a new PC and was wondering if i could use my Nvidia Geforce GT 440 with my Nvidia Geforce gt 220 at the same time? I want this setup so i can get more fps on my games. I have a custom built gaming PC and i really want good gaming proformance.
I currently have an ATI RADEON HD 4850 in my computer, but i have an old Nvidia 6600.. something laying around. I was wondering if it would be possible to drop that in my system and use it purely for additional monitors. I dont mean to link it with my ati card cause i know that that wont work, but basically keep it separate to run a few more moniters.
Edit: not only for windows 7 but if its possible on vista too.
I am currently running 2 monitors on my PC, but I would like to add a third that I had on hand. My computer has an AOD 790 GX/128M Motherboard, with quad-core AMD Phenom II CPU. I currently have a Nvidia NX8800GTX GPU installed, which has my 2 monitors connected to it. I have a graphics card that I could install, however it is an ATI X1300. I would be willing to connect my third monitor either through the motherboards embedded graphics, or through my ATI card. Is it possible to do either of these? I am worried about a driver issue since the 2 GPU's are different brands, and I am not sure it is possible to use embedded graphics at the same time as a card. If this is not possible, what would be the cheapest way to add a third monitor?
I have done this before for myself without any problems and while bragging to my friend I was roped into setting up his computer with a third monitor. As the system is not mine I am trying to keep costs low and avoid buying anything. In short. I am trying to run three monitors, 2 through a ATI4600 series and 1 through an el-cheapo ATI Radeon 9250 256MB, however when both cards a plugged into the mobo the second (el-cheapo) will not run displaying a cannot start message.
I have a Dell Optiplex 740 that I'm using to test Windows 7 on. I have 3 video cards total. 2 are PCI cards and 1 is integrated. Windows sees the Integrated in the device manager but when I go in to the display control to change resolution I cant choose it to extended my screen to. It doesnt even show up in the selection. Only the 2 other cards. I went into the bios and made sure it wasnt disabled, I made sure the right drivers are installed, the cable is plugged in, and the monitor is on and has power. What else could be wrong?
Ok so when I had xp installing drivers was pretty simple.
*uninstall then reboot
*driver cleaner reboot
*install new driver reboot and your all good
Now with windows 7 (64bit) i am having some problems. I am trying to update my driver for my 1900xt (ancient I know) because I seem to have below normal FPS in most games. I downloaded the ati driver package for win 7 64bit and installed. During installation I never actually see the driver or CCC being installed. I only see...
*Hydravision
*Microsoft visual c++
*Cat installation Manager
*Ati problem report wizard
Now after installing Windows Defender pops up with the C:amd/cat... path, notsure what that is all about.
What is the correct way of installing and uninstalling drivers in win 7? Becuase I cant seem to get this to install properly. Do i need to disable something in windows?
As time goes on and a product catalog grows, it's not unusual for a company to reduce and eventually eliminate support for older products. In the case of ATI, AMD's graphics division, a new decision to reduce support for older graphics chips is about to take effect. To date, ATI has provided a new WHQL certified driver every month to nearly every graphics card capable of DirectX 9 acceleration. That includes cards all the way back to 2002's Radeon 9700 Pro. After this month's Catalyst 9.3 release, that will not be the case.
After Catalyst 9.3, products prior to the R6xx generation of graphics cards (that go by the Radeon HD 2000 series brand names) will be changed to "legacy support status." This means that these products will get quarterly WHQL driver updates, instead of monthly updates. AMD assures us that these products will still receive critical "hotfix" drivers if high-priority fixes are needed.
whether it would be ok to run a Nvidia 7800GT and Nvidia 9500GT graphics cards side by side, safely on this mobo. Obviously i do not intend to run in SLI mode, i just want to run 4 monitors from all four outputs.
I recently played NFS Hot Pursuit 2 (released 2002), and the next day my Graphics card busted. The strange part is that I have been playing Robin Hood Legend of Sherwood AND Harry Potter 4 (both released after 2004 and with higher graphics) for over two months now and no problem arose. Could it be that NFS, and car games in general, exert greater pressure on the VGA Cards than normal strategy games? I am wondering whether to discard NFS or to play it
i have heard a lot of my friends saying that they are unable to play high resolution and high definition games on their pc and told that they are on a low budget to buy a graphics card.here is a solution for that:there is a software named 3-d analyzer available in the internet which acts as a virtual graphics card for playing games. you can enter the graphic card needed from the 4 available graphic cards available and then you can get the attributes of that graphic card..if fine tuned, you can play games at the range of a 128mb ram virutal graphic card on your non graphic card pc. note:graphic intensive games, that requires atleast 512mb of graphics memory can't be played through 3d analyzer if you don't have a graphic card, but you can try running it if you have a 256/128 mb card. steps for using the 3-d analyzer software, *first download the file from here, *then extract that software and open the software, *then, select the exe file of the game that you want to run, *choose the select option, *then you can choose the attributes the options you require to play the game,*the attributes may be pixel shader or disable rendering in the game or emulation or some other options specified, *then, enter the device id and the vendor id for the graphics card you need from the available graphics card on the right.*i would suggest the ati radeon 9800pro to run most of the games like fifa 08/09 or prince of persia two thrones/sands of time, *then choose the run option and then i assure that the game would run for you at a decent/playable speed. note:1.if it shows any error that a file is not found pls reinstall the software.2.if the screen turns black/blank then play with the options in the s/w, by trial and error method,if fortunate, may be,you'll be able to run your favorite game.3.if pixel shader/shader version x.x not found, then select the appropriate shader model and run the game. all the best..happy gaming..if any queries post it below.how to: use 3d analyzer video at Internet
In my windows 7 rating i have got 6.3 in gaming graphics but in graphics i have got only 4.9. Why this is happening? A graphics card which is good for gaming is that not good for desktop aero graphics?
my operating system is windows7 and i have this sata hdd and it is not detected by the os well it used to work with the os earlier but it wasnt detected by the system recently. then i tried to reinstall the os after that it did but after a two or three reboots it went missing again... at the time it got detected the system was booting very slowly,.. My hdd is not detecting by os
Ok, I have run out of ideas on this..My setup is Windows 7 64, P35 chipset, 4g ddr2,Evga 8600GT dual dvi with dvi to vga converter s-video out, Q6600, 160g pata hdd and a Gateway EV700 (17").
I cannot get Windows 7 to show the desktop, or detect the monitor. I have an LCD TV hooked to the S-video connector and that is the only way I can see the desktop.
The main monitor will show everything up to the point of showing the desktop..that is where the mon goes blank and I have to look at the TV.
Someone suggested I try XP driver for the monitor, but it will not install and just gives a dialog saying that winxp and above already has the drivers nessesary.
I have tried the Windows 7 64 drivers from MS update, Nvidia, and EVGA (both Windows 7 and Vista 64 drivers).
I have tried both monitor outputs. nothing.
I have a KVM which was not an issue for XP, but I am not sure about Windows 7.
Taking out the KVM is my last resort, as I am running out of ideas.
I also tried using an old Diamond Stealth PCI card to no avail....It wouldn't even post with it.
If I had a VGA to S-video converter, I would try that, but for now, I am stuck trying to use Windows 7 on a tv screen that is only 12".
At 1024x768 it's not much fun trying to read anything on it.
I forgot to add that the Nvidia ctrl panel does not show multi display menu.
Recently i upgraded win XP to win 7 with a format and fresh install. Though after the install, Win 7 did not pick up my onboard sound card or my usb modem. I have the drivers for them but how can i install them if Win 7 wont pick them up? they dont appear in the device manager at all. Win XP had no problem at all with this. Is it possible that they hardware is to old to be recognised by windows 7? i dont have the XP software to switch back so hopefully ill be able to fix this with assistance.
My brother was trying to restore his friends laptop and during the process the power got disconnected and the C Drive got wiped--I believe. I decided to fix it I would do a fresh install of Windows 7.
Everything was going great and I got the recovery disk to install, but my problem was the Hard drive wasn't showing up as unallocated disk space. The drive did show up, but not as any free space. I tried to do some tutorials in diskpart to fix the drive, but to no avail.
Now, I can't even get windows, or BIOS to detect the drive. The last diskpart command I did was to reformat it. It wasn't the quick reformat, but the one that takes an extremely long time. That's when I noticed it wasn't detecting anymore.
Here's some pics of what I'm seeing:

I unstalled my AMD filter usb driver, rebooted and now none of my usb work..I can't log into the computer via usb reason being when i boot up to the login screen i can't type or use my mouse cause the driver for the usb' have been unstalled. i can use them in bios. When it boots to the login screen i can't use anything iv tried plugging in all of the usb's but it doesn't work.
I gave my pen drive to my friend she used it in internet cafe but it doesn't working from that day.it is not showing in my pc when i insert into my laptop
I have two 9500GT video cards one id Evga and one is BFG they are both 1GB DDR2. I have looked into it but you experts will know. I think it's possible to set up a crossfire configuration. It might not be worth doing but i would mostly do it for fun and to see if I can get it working. My current mobo supports it and would like to play with it.
Is it possible with the same GPU but different companies and possibly slightly different specs on the rest of the card? I thought if it the same GPU you could do it.
Also you might know if I can make a USB install flash drive with professional and use it to install home premium or ultimate as long as I have the licence keys?
I've lost all my usb drivers and windows will not connect or recognize any usb device when I install it. Here's the message I get from device manager:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). I've tried everything possible to correct the situation even reloading the intel chipset from Asus web site. Windows no longer will detect a flash drive or external usb drive. I'm at the end of my rope and I don't envy the thoughts of a reinstall. Is there a way to reinstall the usb drivers?Any one can point me in a direction.
