View 2 RepliesThe bios is detecting all of them but Windows 7 is not. The floppy's power is on all the time and it is enabled in the bios. My 3rd hard drive is not being detected, however I did delete some windows 7 files and it was working before that. And I have no idea about my dvd drive. My other drive is working though.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSome time ago I bought a battery for my laptop (Asus G51JX) and, it didn't work, I've sent it back and bought a new one with the same specifications (11,1V, 7200 mAh, 9 Cells). Now, when I start the computer on AC only, it works fine, but when I put the battery, the little icon on the taskbar goes up and down and then stops, If I remove the power cord, the laptop continues on but for my surprise it says "Plugged in, Charging" WITHOUT the power cord!, how is that possible? it is not from the OS because I tried another HDD with a completely different installation and it did the same, now my question is... Is it BIOS or the Motherboard?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate on an Asus UL80J. When asking where I want to install windows, I get "No drives were found. Click to load a driver". The drive is new, has no problems, and is detected in the BIOS fine. Also, my Windows XP CD detects the drive just fine. I've tried both options in the BIOS for setting SATA to IDE and AHCI. I assume I'm missing a SATA driver needed at installation time, but I can't find one online or from the manufacturer.

Now however I cannot get it to detect any CDs. It will not load anything. Now I looked and I realized that my CD/DVD drive was not listed on my computer. I am trying to figure out what driver I had, so I can try re-installing it. I run a Dell Inspiron M5010 64 bit.
Im upgrading to windows 7 on a new hard drive and it will not detect my seagate hard drive?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi just built a computer today. and its the famous windows 7 not detecting hard drive but first here is my set up
amd fx 4100
gigabyte 970a-d3 mobo
kingston 4 gb ram (1 stick)
WD 500gb hard drive
now its the famous install. everything is brand new the new computer can not get any updates its not hooked to the internet, nor do i have a flash drive im on a crappy laptop right now that is surprisingly not fried yet, so i cant do anything updating yet, all i want to do is install windows 7 to my new pc, but it says no driver found, ive even tried putting in the mobo disc like gigabyte said to and still nothing. what can i do? my bios recognizes my cd/dvd rom drive and it also recognizes my hard drive. its all there. but windows 7 wont. is there something in the bios i need to change, i called microsoft and they told me i needed to reformat my hard drive but wouldnt tell me how, gigabyte told me the same thing and the computer store where i bought all my stuff wont touch my computer unless i give them $41 for diagnostics and $41 for install, the guy there is rude and doesnt seem to care about customers who made a HUGE purchase 2 hours before. everybuddy is saying update this update that but i cant the computer has no OS. it has boot screen, bios and windows install.
my pendrive name is cruzer edge 8gb it detected in my computer but i can't use it properly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat's been going on with my HDMI port. 2 nights ago I was watching a movie through my Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop through my Panasonic HDTV. Yesterday, I tried to connect my HDMI cable to my laptop and computer, but nothing happened...So frantically I've been searching everywhere and trying what I have so far with no progress...
1.System Restore to earlier date when my HDMI port was working.
2.Toggle Computer/Duplicate/Extended/Projector Only and nothing worked(Also made sure tv was on the right HDMI input)
3.Tried 3 different HDMI cables and HDMI inputs
4.Uninstalled all sound drivers and Display Adapter(Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
5.Contacted Dell and had them try to reinstall drivers
6. Checked BIOS but I couldn't find any enable/disable feature for video.
7. Took battery out of laptop waited for 30 seconds pressed power button to reset.
My Panasonic TV doesn't even show up under my playback devices and when I try and do a dual screen through screen resolution it says another display not connected. I've tried going Intel HD Graphics Control Panel as well...no such Luck! Beginning to think that my HDMI port on my laptop is broken.
Trying to figure out what is involved in changing hard drives in a new Atg 6420 laptop. Im guessing I need to create a ghost image of current HD, but not sure how to. Once that's done do you just install new HD and reinstall ghost. It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a SSD (Solid State Drive) it is a Samsung 64GB. My computer is an Asus with an i5 Processor.
Anyway I know the SSD works fine because currently I have Ubuntu downloaded on it, running just fine. For some reason however, Windows 7 is not detecting my drive. Under my computer, or upon booting from a disk, it will not detect it. The reason I am wanting to detect it, is because I would like to backup windows 7 onto my SSD and boot from there.
I installed Windows 7 64-bit on my computer which has only 1 hard drive (640GB). I partitioned it using XP to have 4 partitions: 1) XP Partition 2) Linux Partition 3) Linux Swap 4) Windows 7.The problem is Windows 7 cannot detect any partition besides it's own partition, so I cannot access any of my data from the other partitions (XP and ubuntu --- I don't care about ubuntu but I need the data on the XP partition). I know the other partitions exist since I can access XP still, and I believe XP can detect all 4 partitions.I went to start->menu then searched for partition and selected "Create and format hard disk partitions" and it actually detected all the partitions. The problem was the other partitions did not have drive letters associated with them.So I just right clicked and changed the drive letters.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new computer and connected my old hard drive to copy files across to my new one. Both drives had Windows 7 installed and while staring up I had to select one to boot from. I have since removed my old hard drive but am still asked to select one to boot from even though there is now only one connected. How do I remove my old hard drive so that it will automatically boot from the new one?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to fix a vaio laptop at the moment and am a bit stuck. The screen doesn't go past the vaio. It just before the windows logo would normally appear. I tried using the windows 7 cd to try a repair or cmd/chkdsk etc, but the OS wasn't found/listed. I also tried to do a clean install and the HD wasn't detected by windows 7 setup. I also tried booting up with ubuntu and the HD still wasn't detected. Can I assume this is a busted HD? Should I still shoot for a bootage diagnostic cd for the hard drive?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased Dell Inspiron i14z Ultrabook, it has a hybrid SSD, it have 32gb SSD and the rest 470gb hard drive. It had Windows 8 and I couldn't stand it...I changed the BIOS settings from Intel Smart Response to AHCI, used Wipe Drive, (which detected the hybrid SSD as two separate hard drives) to format both hard drives, installed Windows 7 on the 32gb Hard Drive (I assume this is the SSD part), and everything went great. But when I click MyComputer, it only shows 32GB as my hard drive, how do I set the settings where it would show the rest of the hard drive that is not SSD?Whenever I change the AHCI setting back to Intel Smart Response Technology, it gives me a brief Blue Screen of Death briefly, then restarts in a loop.
