Minecraft Massive Lag Spike
Nov 3, 2012recently got a new Pc the Asus G75 to be exact but every one and a while Minecraft will MASSIVELY lag. This shouldn't be happening on a gaming laptop like this does any know what the problem is?

Lag Spike Every 30 Seconds
Oct 16, 2011So lately I've been getting lag spikes every 30 seconds or so. They last no more than 1 or 2 seconds, but they are incredibly annoying.For example, I will be typing, scrolling, clicking something, or watching something and it will completely freeze for 1 or 2 seconds, then suddenly jump to where the screen is supposed to be (like to the tab that SHOULD be showing if I clicked on a different tab during the lag spike) [code] Everything was fine. One day I restarted my PC (I usually set it to sleep at night, but this time I had to restart) and after that I noticed the lag spikes. The only significant thing between then and now is probably reinstalling TESIV Oblivion but I do not see that being an issue.These lag spikes are not related to my web browser, as they happen even when I do not use the internet. However I DO NOT GET ANY LAG SPIKES WHILE I AM PLAYING A GAME. When my PC is dedicated to running a game I do not get any lag spikes at all. They only happen on the desktop / internet.

May 19, 2012For some odd reason, whenever I play any game, it starts off crisp smooth and then maybe 10-20 minutes later it goes completely laggy and then about 20 minutes later, it goes back to smooth gameplay. Some instances of this is when I play Star Wars Battlefront 2, Battlefield 2, ArmA II, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I have tried to set the game's priority to High but it does very little improvment and I have tried Game Booster aswell.

Sep 18, 2011I have recently started experiencing abnormally slow shutdowns (it will go to the windows login screen with the shutting down message and hang there for about ~5 minutes), and random freezes on my PC. The freezes happen from things as small as moving the mouse. I run a weekly virus scan, and have come up with no viruses, though it could be something not detected by my antivirus.
The PC is less then 2 years old.

VLC Causing Physical Memory To Spike Dramatically
Sep 25, 2012This has been going on for about a week now, where my physical memory spikes from a solid 20-30% to 90-96% and just makes my laptop completely unusuable. I currently have 4GB of RAM, so I KNOW it's not an issue with lack of memory. I've investigated this to the point where's it's really starting to drive me mad. I've been using VLC for a good 6 months and this happens all of a sudden, now I can't even use VLC in fear of slowing my laptop to a crawl. I've tried Malwarebytes, scanning for viruses (In safe mode and clean boot), re-installed VLC TWICE, updated everything I could think could be causing the issue, checked the resource monitor each time the spike occurs to see what service could be causing the issue, only to find nothing.

I have been in touch with Mackie and they say that there are no plans to develop new drivers. Now I have gotten the basic features of the product to work by using Windows XP compatibility mode. However, i can't install the plug and play drivers which means that there are several features which I am still unable to use. Is there anything I can do to get these plug and play drivers to work? (apart from double booting with XP)

Well, after my computers been in sleep mode, and wakes up, it always shows that Core 3 is usually up around 50-60% and Core 1 around 20-30% or so... It never goes back down until a restart/shut down.Also, I own Driver Reviver, which suggested like 9 new driver updates for me, and I still have the problem.

Jun 26, 2011I purchased a new Dell XPS 17 and have previously been a long time user of XP. One big reason I am already not a fan of Windows 7 is because while some things have improved other things have gotten worse. By far this is the worst problem:
In XP my Duration online can be 1-2 days and would barely hit a million or a million and a half of packets for sent and outgoing individually. With the Same exact setup in Windows 7 what takes days in XP I experience in about 1 Hour in Windows 7!! As of right now I have over 19million outgoing packets! Similar for Received. What gives?? I have searched online and am hoping i'm not the only one with this issue.By the way I have an Intel 1000BGN Internal Adapter but I have it disabled and am using an Alfa AWUS036h b/g adapter. My router is a Netgear N300 WNR2000v2. I am experiencing very low speeds 1-5.5 and occasionally a stable 11mbps. I firmly believe this network traffic is causing both my low speeds and my random and frequent limited access / disconnections.
Massive Physical Memory Usage On Windows 7, 64 Bit?
Mar 15, 2012Why does my laptop use around 2-3GB of physical memory for NOTHING.
I know my skype, Msn, and TS3 lauch on laptop start, but that should be just about it.
Atleast form anything that takes much memory. Even those 3 dont take much.
i just turn it on and it instantly uses that MUCH OF IT.
How do i reduce it!

HP Laptop Suffering Massive Slow Downs?
Dec 26, 2012I bought a used HP Pavilion g7 about a month or two ago. I first noticed that I was suffering from a massive slowdown problem that often prevents me from opening programs or even shutting down the computer from a cold startup. My computer is currently running chkdsk from bootup and is finding file segments 58724-58731, 58756-58763 unreadable.My computer is running Windows 7 sp1. This is the second time this has happened; I had reformatted the hard drive once already due to this issue, and it has now started occurring again two weeks later.Considering that all I've only put League of Legends, LackeyCCG, and Google Chrome on my computer, I doubt this is a software issue. I have heard that I may have to replace my HDD if I'm receiving errors such as this in such volume. If this is one of the vagaries of purchasing used computers, how should I act? Do warranties typically cover dead hard drives, and if not how much would it cost to replace mine?

Feb 23, 2012I work at the IT department of a school where we have around 600 PC's that need to be maintained. Most things break by the kids and most is fixed my replacing, or simply imaging said computers again.However, after having switched over from Windows XP to Windows 7 we've been having masses of BSODs when loading Windows. Not just the normal PC's, not just linked to one type (although pretty much everything is from HP). But it keeps happening.The most common errors that we've been able to discover are:0x00000018, 0x0000000A, 0x0000007E, 0x000000BE.After having researched these things, they all turned out to have something to do with drivers, not only that, but when trying to boot into safe mode the PC's would all freeze at "classpnp.sys" and sometimes reboot shortly after.Our current solution is simply putting a new Windows 7 image over the computer and it'll work another day or two. It's great that it works again then, but we spend too much time on it.
It can't possibly be the hardware, there are too many different kinds of computers for it to be that. I'm quite sure the problem is somewhere originating from the drivers we install, but then he question comes as to what ruins the drivers? Not to mention that there are also different drivers for the different kinds of PC's.

Mar 22, 2012I have been having BSOD for a while now. It happens during extended general use, or when playing games (really only minecraft). However, when I turn the power settings to "Power saver" I do not usually get a crash (not as far as i remember anyhow). But I would rather not have to use that mode, because it makes using more than one window at a time slow, and severely impacts game performance.

Minecraft Freezes After 20 Seconds In Game?
Jul 7, 2012On my new laptop and after around 20 seconds in game minecraft freezes. I have put the graphics on both highest and lowest with no changes. Theres also 2 ways that my minecraft is crashing.
1st: Minecraft just stops and i have to open task manager to close it.
2nd: Minecraft freezes and then i get a black screen. Then it goes back to the main screen, minecraft closes, and then in the bottom right a message pops up saying. "AMD video has stopped responding and has recovered successfully. I tried finding drivers but couldent in the end what now!

Jan 14, 2013When I'm playing minecraft, at RANDOM times, the entire computer will just freeze for me.The sound gets stuck in this jarring freeze like repeat and I can't click Ctrl-Alt-Delete or Alt-f4 or anything. I can normally play at 100 fps with no problems until this freeze happens. I've tried letting it sit for a while but it just remains frozen. It doesn't give me BSoD, it just freezes.
