When I maximize any window, it never takes up the whole screen. Instead, it stops short about half a centimeter from the top of the screen, where I can see my desktop. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm including a link to the screenshot that I took. The top is outlined with a red box.[URL]
My desktop PC is running Windows 7 64 bits. I have already created a homegroup on it. But when I try to view password, system does not show anything there and if I try to change the password to a new one it fails to do! Further I can not also leave the homegroup as the system shows the message 'windows cannot leave the homegroup'.
Problem:I am using Windows 7. When I am browsing and switch to a new window it appears minimized, and I have to maximize it myself. I remember way back that there was something to do to have the new window maximized all the time.
Is there a setting on win 7 whereby I can have it defragment without having to leave it on all the time? Also when it defragments while I am using it, it slows down a lot so that's not a good solution for me.
I leave my game running at night when I get up in the morning the computer's still on but the game client is no longer running, what is shutting down the game?
I downloaded IE 9 beta with no apparent problem and the installation ended with a window which said some of the IE files were in use and could not be updated. I dont know which these were since nothing was open but I continued, restarted ok, and on from there.Problem: Open IE ok but can only tab browse when windows is maximized (double boxes.)CTRL+W, right click and select "Close Tab" to close a tab, and CTRL+TAB to switch between tabs works fine no matter what the size/orientation of IE. But click on the tab "x", depress mouse wheel to close tab, and click on tab to select it will only work when maximized (double boxes.) Seems like IE 9 will only work with windows maximized. All other features work ok.Installing with no add-ons, in safe mode, or with anti-virus off makes no difference
I just got a new laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. When I start it, and open up internet explorer, the program is fine and fully maximized. However when I go and close the lid, then open it again, I find a 1cm gap has appeared at the top of the program window where I can see the desktop (all three buttons still there). Then I cannot get it to fully maximize (it said it was fully maximized with the gap) until I log on again, or restart. Any suggestions. I am guessing this is a software issue, not a hardware issue right? I should say this only happens with certain programms (IE9, Paint, document explorer, picture explorer etc.
i have a new nvidia video card that allows me 3 monitors - however the first two are 'spanned' giving me a work area of 3840 x 1080 (which is perfect for my video editing), HOWEVER:when clicking the maximize symbol in the upper right hand corner the application window will spread across both monitors.is it possible, or is there any software, that will allow me to set the size of a maximized window?i also get all windows messages opening in the center of the two screens, very annoying and sometimes hard to read.
When maximizing any new window I would like them to be automatically maximized like this:(bordered)instead of like this(borderless)Ideally I would like to override the borderless maximized state with the bordered maximized state, so that I never have to encounter the borderless maximized state.side from looking better (personal preference) it is also easer to adjust the windows with the freesnap program (It is not possible to adjust the window in freesnap if the window is in the borderless maximized state.
windows media player underlaps the taskbar when maximized. Also websites such as facebook have the bottom part going under the taskbar so i can't chat to people.
Seen several different posts about this issue but really no definitive answer as to why is occurring. Never happened with XP or Vista only Windows 7. Seems most users with this issue report having a Dell computer but mine is a Toshiba Satellite L505. I just find it very annoying to have approximately half inch of desktop space visible on top of any type maximized window, browser window, explorer window, whatever.
Is there a possible way to switch Windows users while a game is maximized? I feel like I used to have a windows system that had a button on the keyboard that I would accidentally press from time to time, and it would send me directly to my windows users list while keeping my full-screen game active. I'm looking for that same functionality here.
I have tried all suggestions but my machine absolutly refuses to leave the homegoup. It just keeps on saying "windows coudn't remove you frome the homegroup".What can I do to get out as I am absolutly at the end of my wits with this?
What i mean is, if i drag or right click a file (picture, folder or film etc) and select delete, the file goes to the recycle bin no problem, but it appears to stay on the desktop too. It is definately in the bin also, if i select the file once in the bin it wont open because windows tells me it doesnt exsist so why is the icon left behind ? its anoying to have to refresh to see it dissapear.
Also emptying the bin of the file doesnt make a difference either. Icon remains.I have ran a virus check, spyware, malware etc... PC is as clean as a whistle.
I installed Ashapmoo Office Trial Version. I unstalled it but when i right click on my desktop and move my pointer to "New" I get this goddamed Ashampoo Planmaker and Textmaker along with other usual items
i want to make my WMP play on a maximized screen, i have to drag to fit the screen, or press maximize. any idea on how to keep it maximized all the time, then if i want to go full screen, i can.
When opening Computer Management by right clicking Computer in the start menu the word Manage didn't leave the screen. Please see image below.Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I'm running Windows 7, the keyboard works fine as long as I'm using it but when I leave the PC for hours and try to work after that, the keyboard doesn't work and I have to use the on-screen keyboard to login and continue working on the on-screen keyboard only. The only way for the keyboard to work again is if I restart the PC.
Is there an option that I have to check or something? Anyone knows how to resolve this problem ..
Whenever Firefox 8 opens, it opens in minimized mode (ie, just about covers the whole monitor screen, but not quite...hovering over single square in upper right gives a tooltip of "Maximize". I'd like it to open in maximized mode (in upper right should show double square and "Restore Down" tooltip)--how? Within the icon's shortcut on the desktop, properties>run>normal or maximize makes no difference, FF still opens minimized.
EDIT: BTW, the same thing is also happening on my laptop which is configured exactly the same as this desktop. Different computer manufacturers, but same OS and same configs for FF8.
I bought myself a new laptop recently and it arrived today. When I maximize a Window, it sometimes leaves space above the window. It is very, very noticeable, at about half a centimeter in height. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, it is only fixed by logging off and back on again, and even then it is only temporarily fixed. If I put my computer onto standby and then bring it back on, the problem is often created, but sometimes it just happens if I launch a program. The link below goes to a screenshot showing the problem. It leaves space above my window and in that space my desktop is visible. [URL].
Latest NVidia drivers (not Beta) on Asus 8800 GT, Apple Cinema Display 23" monitor.
Frequently, when I open a program then close it, it will often leave a radio button on the screen. The button cannot be removed, moved, or clicked. The only way that I've cleared it was to change screen resolution, then revert back.
I am running Aero settings and themes. I have plenty of memory available and the computer runs fast enough with the bells and whistles running.
I'm guessing it's an issue with the driver and a newer driver may address it, but I guess it could be something else.

I cannot seen the bottom of the screen or window(full window or bottom tab) when it is maximized. I am facing this problem since two days, earlier it ok( i use to see full window when it is maximized).
