Local Network Shuts Down Stick Modem Inernet Connection?
Sep 24, 2012
I have successfully connected my two Windows7 machines via local network (Ethernet) - it worked automatically, no setup was needed. Everything is fine, for example I'm able to use a share mouse utility via the local network and control both computers with the same mouse. However once the network is swtiched on, my stick modem mobile 3G internet connection is shut down (the browser reports DNS name not resolved error). If I turn off the router the internet connection immediately returns. I tried to disable the firewall but to no avail.
os is windows 7. PC working great until lately, when I try to read news or e-mail, I keep losing connection, however the modem is working and the indicator still tells me that I am connected to the inernet.
We've got our machine plugged directly into the modem and it previously worked fine. At some point something happened and now I have to connect via wireless. When I go the Network and Sharing Center and click "Change Adapter Settings", the only thing in the folder is "wireless network connection". I know the plug in connection works because I tested it on a laptop. I can even find where I can "opt in" or enable a LAN connection.
I seem to have a situation where my wireless connection does not include my local network, so I cannot see or connect to any local computers on my network but I can connect to the Internet just fine wirelessly. Of course, if I wire into the Ethernet port I can see the local computers. I know I should be able to access the local computers wirelessly but I cannot seem to find the "switch" to combine local and Internet access.
Stuck with my local area connection problem.I can not access my internet, under networks options there is no local area connection or any thing like that.I have also tried to format my computer to fix the error but no success.I have also tried to uninstall and then install the drivers but it was of no use but when i troubleshoot the it says the drivers are not installed properly.
just this morning i disconnected all of a sudden, and now i can't connect to the internet with my ethernet cable, my wireless connection is fine though...I've been searching for solutions but nothing has worked so far, i really have no idea what to do.
A week ago I put together a new computer and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, every thingy installed just fine even the Ethernet drivers that came with the Motherboard disk installed ok, but I get 'Unidentified Network' for my network and only local connection. I have reinstalled the drivers many times. I am on another computer hooked up to the same router and modem, but it is running Vista instead, but the internet works just fine, and it is using the same cable as my other computer so it can't be the cable.
My computer Specs: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz MSI NF750-G55 AM3 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard EVGA 1GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) [2x - Sli] SAMSUNG 1TB 7200rpm Hard drive G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
I am running win 7 and my LAC says "unidentified connection" no internet access. I can still connect wireless to other connection. I am running comcast broadband connection through a marvel yukon ethernet. I can't get my work done from home anymore!
OS: Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on Laptop and PC (custom build). Router: ASUS RT-N56U Switch: D Link DES 1008e Network Adapter PC: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Network Adapter Laptop: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
When either is plugged directly into the router, no ethernet cable is detected. If you run either the PC or laptop through the switch first, it works just fine. I have uninstalled and re-installed network drivers, I've uninstalled and deleted the adapters and software and started from scratch. I've checked all of the setting 3 times over.
Some server game banned my macaddress (NIC).So now I can't login this game with my lan card (Local Area Connection) in my windows but I sloved problem by play that game in VMWARE that have a virtual network adaptor with a new macaddress Question is if it possible to create virtual network adaptor with new macaddress in my windows7 , Not in vmware or vitual pc etc...Because I want to play this game in my windows but this server banned my lan card myaddress I need a new connection that have a new macaddress like vmware network adator.
When I log off or turn off my pc and then log on or turn the pc on, internet is not working. I need to open Network and Sharing Center, go to my Local Area Connection, disable then enable it and then all works. How to fix?
Basically my ethernet capability flew out the window ranomly the other day. Wireless works perfectly however.. before ...the other day.... it has been working solidly for almost a year Im plugged into a router which is running off my cable modem, both sitting less than a foot away from me. Also hooked up to the router is another computer, and my xbox the xbox works but the other computer cant seem to get a local connection either.
at first i assumed they were having an ip conflict of some sort, but why now after all this time?
I have tried:
- ipconfig /release - /renew - abolishing bonjour - taking the other pc completely off the router/network - updating drivers.....rolling back the updates - different cables different ports -plugging directly into the modem - and asking nicely
im on my laptop, Dell studio also the first time i noticed this happen was directly after having powered down the modem and router.

I have Brother MFC7340 printer connected to my HP home premium Windows 7 64 via a USB port. There is no ethernet connection. I want my Windows XP computer, connected to the local home network via ethernet hard connection through my wireless router to be able to print either with a hard connect or wirelessly to this printer. I am having trouble figuring out what to do and have tried various strategies to no avail.
For some reason my router and modem will not show correctly on my dell inspirion one desktop. Im running windows 7 and here are the net work connection deatils

The Connection was working about ten days ago and then suddenly stopped and read as an unidentified network no internet access. at one point is was not receiving packets but now it is but it still says no internet access on the IPv4 Connectivity. Media state is also enabled and the speed is 100.0 Mbps when i troubleshoot it says windows cant identify problem but in the details it says default gateway is available. when i use the cmd prompt ipconfig/all my local ethernet adapter has a physical address of all zeros.
I am using Internet Modem USB Stick with my computer. My computer is Windows 7 Professional. I have a problem with removing the Internet Modem USB Stick from the computer. When I insert the Internet Modem USB Stick into my computer and then I wish to remove it, I really can't do so. I, however, can remove the Internet Modem USB Stick from the computer easily in Windows XP.I think it will reduce my Internet Modem USB Stick Lifetime and there probably should effect my computer lifetime if I try to remove the USB Stick without allowing to reject.
my new windows 7 PC will shut my DSL modem off when it enters sleep mode. This is a real problem due to that it effects all of my other wireless components
I started getting a "DNS not responding"? on my desktop. All my wireless devices work fine, and when I turn off my laptop's WiFi card and plug it into the same router it works as well.I've done some Googleing on the issue and none of what I found has helped. When I do an ipconfig on each maching, the thing I notice is that on the working laptop I have an entry for the "Connection specific DNS suffix under the "Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection", where on the desktop that's not working the suffix is blank.
I am trying to enable a new Incoming Connection but get a message saying "Incoming connections depend on the Routing and Remote Access service, which was unable to start".I have a standard 56K modem installed, using a telephone line. The computer is a stand alone system, running a local application where Internet access is not required.I do however need to access the PC from time to time and dialup is the only option. Is there a work around as it appears that Windows 7 needs to identify a Netork befor starting the Routing and Remote Access service?
I am getting the above message after troubleshooting. I have just switched to a new computer with windows 7 pre-installed.
All fine on old computer running XP Getting unidentified network + above error message. enabling/disabling card, checking for Bonjour service string and the like but no luck.
The problem with Windows 7 and an USB 3G modem is that everytime I use it it creates a new connection, and next time I plug the modem in it will be like "Internett Modem Connection 11" and in the connection list I got many of them, how can I prevent this issue? And can I delete some of them by any chance?

I was online one day and 20 windows opened up at the same time computer rebooted bsod. that day computer rebooted about 10 times. at first i was able to go online but soon afterwards no internet connection (red X on icon).I tried to scan and the computer would reboot in the middle of scan (All different types of scans safe mode safe mode w networking normal). I was on the ph w a tech from avast for three hrs we ended the conversation by him telling me to internet provider, did that spoke w that tech for two hrs. I uninstalled avast. Every time the computer starts comodo message comodo does not seem to be started or installed. fix doesn't work. I kn it is my computer that will not allow a connection to internet. I decided to put old hdd in and combat the problem. Message Diagnostics Policy Service not running.
i am using a USB modem for networking, but i want to connect my cell to the internet using this modem via WiFi. How can i setup up a WiFi connection in my house using this USB modem?
I've just bought a new router-modem (lynksys x2000) to replace my old modem. After going through the setup(by using quick install guide CD-ROM provide with router-modem), i've got no internet connection. My laptop can connect to the router-modem but not the internet.Do my new modem have its own firewall?(I know my laptop firewall is running). Do i need to disable the firewall? If yes, which one should i disable, my laptop of modem.
I'm trying to achieve something which I think most might not have tried, starting with what I have
1.Type 2 adsl2+ cpe/iad modem-It has built in wifi. 2.A fiber internet connection. 3.A samsung smart tv with built in lan adapter (40 inch LED-no wifi but wifi ready)
Now the modem which I have mentioned above cannot be used with the fiber internet connection. So,it is just lying waste but I want to use my internet connection provided by my ISP through fiber connection with the modem so that I can use my modem's wifi and lan ports. What I have done was connected my laptop to my modem's wifi and also to my ISP's fiber connection so my laptop is connected to both the networks and now I have tried to establish a bridge connection between the lan connection and the wifi connection I was successful and I was also able to share my internet connection(as shown in my laptop) but when I have checked for the wifi internet connection it is not there(Checked on my mobile-one x and ipad). So is there any way so that I can do this...??Please don't suggest me to use a application like connectify or virtual router to share my fiber internet connection. Now there is a another thing that i have mentioned above my Samsung tv now I have connected one of my modem's lan connection to my tv and tried to use the all share application(my laptop is connected to the same modem through wifi) in my laptop I have found my tv and the laptop connected to the modem(Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Map)but my tv is not at all recognizing my laptop and my laptop is also not finding my tv(in the allshare application). If my first problem of getting my internet to the modem's wifi is possible then I also want to try that for the modem's lan connection so that I can avoid the pain of buying a samsung wifi dongle which costs more than 10% of my tv's price.
I have a notebook that is connected to ADSL modem via Ethernet cable.I don't know how it happened but at a certain moment after I rebooted it, my network connections started looking like this:I have an extra unidentified network and at the start up my notebook tries to connect to it and fails. So I have to manually disable and enable Local Area Connection for it to start working and things look like they should:This happens every time I start up Windows.
I connected it, installed drivers (Rlink or RaLink, basically chinese noname) and tried to set up the hotspot. It worked, but my android phone was stuck at "Obtaining IP address". So I installed Connectify, set up Internet connection sharing from the main adapter to the wireless adapter and it worked fine.
But since then the internet connection is wonky, for example right now I'm downloading 350MB file for the fourth time because it had always been interrupted. And the download usually stops for 10-15 seconds, then downloads really fast and stops again. I use Backblaze for backup and I can see the the average upload speed is 0.13mbit/s, before it was cca 0.35mbit/s.
Windows 7 home Premimum 64bitIt started with a trojan which is removed but it left a couple of problems. Here is the last one.Device manager shows my lan card. I've tried uninstalling it but its uninstall app hangs...no messages just never finishes.Network Connection in control panel comes up blank, nothin, nada under manage network connections.
This sounds really noobie of me but is it possible to improve local network transfer speed by adding a 2nd network card. I was planning to connect one exclusively for lan transfers and another one hooked to a separate wireless router.
Right now only a maximum of 3 users can stream SD videos off the PC before it gets a little choppy.
The pc in question runs on windows 7 and it's board has built in gigabit, I happen to have a spare gigabit card.
