Mar 26, 2012I've no idea what's causing this. I tried installing the language packs last night and woke up the next morning to the error codes mentioned above.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got Windows Ultimate and decided to let it install language packs I don't need (I didnt actually know they'd take a huge amount of space). Part way through the installation I cancel one of the language packs and the whole update finishes (This was a fresh install). Now in the history it says some of the language packs installed successfully but in "control panel>Change Display Language" there is only English.I'm quite sure a few language packs did install because the SSD free space was shrinking after every install.

If not could I "Poodlefake" or Backport the language packs from the VISTA system.
I'd like to try the Icelandic pack so some of our "Normal" i.e non technical users back home can check / try Windows 7.
(Of course they all speak excellent English -- like most Scandanavian countries English is a mandatory language in Schools here and even as adults around 90% here speak it fluently but it would be nice to test Windows 7 in a "Working environment" away from the IT testing areas to see how it performs in day to day work. (Maybe not 100% mission critical stuff but for reasonably robust office situations).
I get error code 8007002 when I install language packs(English). I'm sure installed the English language pack on my computer and switch to English. After reboot my computer it show up original(Chinese language).Than I check my computer is show currently Display:English I try to switch to english again but can't find English language pack in my computer.Than I download it again and reinstall again.during install get a error code
8007002.I have tried the Microsoft suggested solution. (deleting Software Distribution, somthing like that)but still not work.
Is it possible to just install a service pack as soon as you install Windows 7, or do you have to install a bunch of smaller updates first?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new rig and I had a problem with one stick of memory. The other stick worked alright, but I've been getting random failures. Can bad memory be inconsistent? Right now, I can't start my OS up at all. It goes straight to the Windows Repair Launcher, which fails. When it gets there, I can either find a restore point or let it 'attempt to fix' for as long as I can endure. The restore point option results in 'instruction xxx failed. memory reference xxx failed.'This leads me to believe there is a problem with the memory. But, could it be the motherboard? I played a video game for hours last night, as well as surfed the web and ran other applications. Everything was fine, until I shut down. This isn't the first time this happened. Last time, I 'fixed' it by switching the 'good' memory stick with the bad. The bad resulted in getting the OS up, but lots of BSOD's

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince early August all my Security updates have been failing. It adds time to each boot up period as it goes through the updates and then at the end will say it's failed and is reverting all the changes. I have already done some research on this issue and ran "sfc/scannow" as well as "chkdsk/f/r." Both seemed to go through with no problems. After that I did a Windows update and 12 updates seemed to go through with no problem until the required reboot where we're back to the same issue of failing and reverting.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUp until about a week ago my computer was happily running along until all of a sudden - POW! A good chunk of my games no longer launch. This happened to me back in the Windows 7 beta and it was only (partially) solved when I formatted and did a clean install of the retail version. Now that it is happening again I'm just like "screw it - format now and not waste 2 months trying to fix it.Issue seems to be: Can't update GFX drivers (Tried Driver Sweeper etc. Doesn't make a difference)Can't launch a good deal of my games (most of them the affected ones use OpenGL If I could fix that, it would save me formatting but last time I scoured the internet far and wide to try and fix it to no avail."But", you say, "just format and be done with it!"The install begins fine, it extracts all the files and gets to the first reboot. After about 3-5 mins of it progressing through the final stages of the install the screen goes blank and nothing happens (HDD and disk drive both idle even after 30 mins). Presumable its installing the graphics card driver.I had this same problem last time (From beta to retail) and I did find a solution which I can't remember exactly.I was certain it was from these forums (Which is why I'm posting here) but after a good search of these forums and the rest of the general internet I couldn't find the same instructions. Incase it rings any bells with anyone, it involved something like so:Do the first stage of the install At the first reboot enter safe mode Shift+F10 to open command prompt Open device manager and remove graphics card driver (or disable card)Reboot and continue install The only problem I ran into this time is that it wasn't loading into safe mode (it got up to loading disk.sys, the second last file it normally loads, and stops there) unless I first continue the install up to the point where where the screen goes blank, but then after I disable the card and boot normally to continue the install it says it encountered an error and makes me start it over?tl;dr: Can't update/install graphics card drivers normally or during during Windows 7 install.

When it asks me where i want to install Windows, i click next and it tells me:"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Windows needs the driver for device [Primary IDE Channel]. View 16 Replies View RelatedI'd like to do an upgrade install of Windows 7 Beta. Unfortunately, my current OS (Vista Ultimate 64) is in Italian, thus I cannot upgrade. I even tried to install the English language pack and I made sure to set the language in English. The problem is I cannot uninstall the Italian language as Windows tells me that it's the system language.
Is there any way to make Windows think that English is the default language of my computer? I really don't want to make a clean install.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have two simple questions, but I cannot find definitive answers .
>I have windows vista business 64bit (language: Dutch)
>I want windows 7 professional 64bit (language: English)
I am going to use upgrade media to upgrade vista to 7.
1. Can I change the language from Dutch to English if I do a custom installation? Answered: yes
2. Is it a 100% clean installation if I do a custom installation and format during this procedure? Answered: read thread
Ad 1: If you do a custom install, formatting the drives, the language difference between vista and 7 is not a technical obstacle. So it comes down to licensing: does Microsoft accept this?
Ad 2: I do not want to use any 'registry workarounds'. But since people are using them, I'm wondering if a custom installation (with formatting during this process) indeed is a fully clean installation. The different tutorials are very confusing on this matter.
