This started about 3 days ago, and I'm not sure how. I've run Spybot, AVG and other programs, but nothing seems to stop it.Whenever I click on a link in my bookmarks, it gets deleted in the folder almost automatically afterwards. The bookmarks that get deleted seem to happen at random. When I replaced the bookmarks and clicked them again, sometimes they are fine while others that survived the first round get erased, while some bookmarks remain untouched. This happens to bookmarks in completely different folders, and my history seems to have been left untouched.
Sometimes my Internet Explorer will randomly disconnect from the internet. Sometimes it will disconnect when I have left the computer for 10 minutes. Sometimes it will disconnect right in the middle of surfing the internet. It is only Internet Explorer because my anti-virus and my stand alone download manager will continue to be connected.
I have Windows 7 Pro and Internet Explorer9. I've had this problem before when I was on Windows XP and it only happens when I have had DSL (didn't happen when I had cable internet).
but my workplace is using Windows 7 and I am discovering some things that are different to XP.When delete a file, windows explorer does not show that the file has been deleted.
Namely Libraries/HomeGroup/Network/Control Panel (and Public on a Vista Machine). I found posts on these the other day, but my RegEdit doesn't have a CLSID folder, only CLS, so I couldn't follow those tutorials.
I don't know if this is a define behavior or a known bug, in any case the following are the steps to reproduce it:- Close all foreground applications.- Run Windows Explorer.- Run another applications.- Do the ALT + TAB (or ALT + TAB + SHIFT ) key combinations. A new "window" on the center of your desktop should appear. This window (I don't remember the name) shows all foreground applications actually running. You should see only two applications: Windows Explorer and the other one. Move back on Windows Explorer selecting it.- On Windows Explorer select a file to delete or create an empty one and select it.- Now, click the Canc key button or click on the file and from the popup menu that appears click on Delete menu item.- At this point ,the Windows Explorer Delete Folder dialog should appear, asking you to delete or not the file.- Do not click on the dialog, leave it as it is.- Now, move on to the other foreground application, with the ALT + TAB (or ALT + TAB + Shift) key combinations.
Windows Explorer ( not internet Explorer) starts up when I turn on my computer ( without my request). This just started to occur yesterday. It must be in some startup menu . Where do I look for this to remove it ?
I'm new here and I've been having some problems with explorer crashing. I've searched all over the net including various forums and while I've found cases similar to mine none of them are quite like it. For instance, explorer will crash and ask for me to restart it randomly. It's not the right-click crash like some have had, I've checked my registry for a machine throttling string that caused some people crashes, but mine will just happen out of the blue, usually (but not always) when I have an explorer window open. The crash itself doesn't effect much. All my programs will continue to run as normal so it's not a huge deal, it's just annoying as it will happen sporadically throughout the day. I've ran various spyware, malware, and virus scans all to no avail and I've even used a registry cleaner. I've also tried running sfc /scannow in the command prompt as an administrator. I've rebooted several times since and it still happens. I can't reproduce it, it just happens out of nowhere, but here's the error.
explorer.exe process stops and needs to restart at random point. Tried combofix, registry cleaners malware proctetor is activated and computer is generally in good shape. This is what I get
I looked at some of the solutions including the error check in the c:. I've installed the ccleaner on my computer as well and still didnt work. So the problem is, whenever I am on my computer and explorer crashes it says "the windows explorer has stopped working" and after that it just restarts the explorer but my all the icons in the system icons disappear except for the clock. I tried to go and change it but I can't, the sound, internet and uac icons disappear and I can only see them again if I reboot my computer. I am running windows 7 32-bit. [URL].
Lately explorer.exe has started to stop responding and crash randomly, when it does then it doesn't restart and I can't start it from the taskmanger/run/cmd and I have to restart or re-log to get it to work again.
Windows Explorer recently started opening by itself without prompting or warning. This is really annoying, and if I leave my computer on and unattended, I will come back and find dozens of Explorer instances open on my desktop. They always open in the Library directory. [code]
I have been having problems with my new computer running Win7 Ultimate and have had to do an upgrade install. Now IE8 and Incredimail are unable to connect to the internet although Norton, Windows, System Mechanic, etc.,can all download updates
I've tried two different NIC's and they both do the same thing. One NIC was a PCI-E and the other is a USB. The internet just stops working, i.e. if you do a status on the adapter it says 'Internet not available.'Now! If I disable the new adapter and enable the old adapter which is a Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card WMP54GS with SpeedBooster that matched the router I had before it died three weeks ago the card works perfectly! It never disconnects from the internet so to speak. This has to be something in Windows 7 that is causing this behavior in the new adapter. I did a little snooping around myself and there was a suggestion to disable the 'IP Helper' service. I disabled it and stopped it and the adapter still 'went to sleep.'
I have had a little bit of trouble with my internet connection lately. sometimes i just get limited connection or it will just stop working. what i mean by that is it'll be working fine and then i get a little yellow exclamation mark over my wireless and it says limited access and i can't connect to the internet. i try disabling it and then re-enabling it, troubleshooting, and turning my router on and off again. i think it generally works fine when i restart my computer, but i don't want to have to be restarting all the time and having an unreliable connection. i've got a thomson tg585 v8 wireless router and under my device manager it says i have Atheros AR9285 Wireless network adapter and intel 82579V Gigabit Network connection.
Toshiba laptop, Windows 7 Ultimate x86, RTL8187b WiFi NIC.Clean install.Opening a new site is working ok and fast, when clicking on a link on the website, I get a very slow response or a time-out...When I do the same thing at the same time on a wired computer or/and on a Ipad (wireless), the page opens normaly....I've disabled the windows firewall. I've tryed several browsers (IE8/9, Chrome and Firefox), but all act the same... Tryed different drivers for the NIC...When I connect the laptop wired, all is ok....It happens on different websites on different times and moments....Opening the site works fine, so DNS should be ok.
I have a problem that has been puzzling and annoying me very much for the past week or so. I have no problem connecting to the network but at random times I lose connection to the internet for a few seconds or a few minuites. I never lose connection to the network though. My playstation 3 has a wired connection directly to the modem as does the computer in the living room, and those units never lose connection. How ever my computer in my room along with my xbox 360, which is also in my room, loses connection wirelessly. My xbox and this computer DO NOT have this problem at other people houses so I'm thinking it must be my router (Linksys E1000). The wireless adapter I have on my computer is a Linksys WMP600N Dual Band. Both the router and my wireless card have the lastest firmware and I have also tried giving my computer a static IP along with the Xbox and forwarding the ports for it. Still does not work for me. I am able to connect to my neighbors internet which has no problems with connection other than the fact that its laggy since i am far from their router. I really dont want to go out and buy a new router so any help anyone could give me would be awesome!
Now, I recently had to change to new ISP, that can't provide cable where I live. It's stupid DSL internet through the phone cable. With my old ISP there were zero problems, but now it's quite bad.Connection drops randomly for about a minute, then it comes back without me touching anything. Windows says it cannot connect to the primary DNS server when that happens. The problem happens more in the evening, which leads me to believe I cannot fix it, but any suggestions would be welcome.
Could it be like, not the line overloading because of other people, but the router getting clogged because of being used all the day, or something? O_o There's 4 PCs connected to the same router by the way so traffic gets quite heavy. I can't use my old router. I tried, but the cable that goes in this one is smaller, phone cable, not the ethernet one I plug in my PC.
My computer is relatively new and has been working fine until just recently. At random times when on the internet, it will suddenly freezes (but only the page) and not allow me to click anything. At first I thought it was the website but it has been happening on more sites than one. I have tried installing all the updates and have gone through almost all the tune-ups my computer offers.
why does my internet always after like 5 min go to no internet acsess and i disconect and reconect its fine ?both regular computers work fine but my ps3 and laptop both work then all of a sudden the little yellow ! comes up and then it says no internet access
Starting earlier today, my internet randomly stopped working on my main PC, though I could still connect and it would work fine on my laptop/phone/tablet/etc. I ran a full McAfee scan which found nothing, and after a couple restarts and unplugging my modem/router, it happened again now. When I try to shut my PC down, it goes to the normal vista "Shutting down" screen, stays there for about 5 or so minutes, and then I get a BSOD.
I've got an older Acer Timeline 4810t running Windows 7. We recently switched from Cox Cable internet to AT&T U-Verse, and I've started noticing that my internet connection will randomly go out when I am connected. This occurs whether I am on a wired or wireless connection. Specifically, I will be browsing the web and, randomly, when I try to pull up a website, I get an error indicating that I cannot connect to that website because I am not connected to the internet. When I check the status of my connection in the bottom right corner, it will show that I am connected to the internet. If I disconnect the ethernet cable (or disconnect and reconnect to the wifi network), the internet service is restored, although it continues to randomly lose connection.
I initially thought that it was a U-Verse issue, so AT&T came out and replaced the router. Unfortunately, I still got the random drops. I then thought it was a Windows issue, so I reformatted by hard drive and reinstalled Windows - still having that issue. My wife has an older Macbook and does not have this problem. We also do not have this problem with any of the tablets or phones that connect to the network wirelessly.I am beyond frustrated and do not know what to do. I also don't know if this is a sign that my laptop is at the end of its life, which would be unfortunate since I've only owned the laptop for about 3 years (my last laptop, a Dell, is on year 7 and still churning).
Where in the world is IE hiding? It doesn't show up under "Programs." When I search for it, up come sub-titles.I allowed Windows Updates to install IE 9 just a couple days ago. Is this the problem?
I run a comp with vista on but my wife as windows 7 she likes to do jigsaws to relax but when she goes to her favourit site only the adds come on the rest is blank. I logged on with vista it said do you want explorer to allow this site clicked yes everthing was ok but I could not get windows 7 to do the same how can I get her internet explorer to allow this site she as used it for years and had no problems but she was using vista then.
I normally use Mozilla Firefox but an upgrade programme I recently downloaded needs IE to install. IE couldn't display the webpage so I downloaded and installed IE9 On running there was a script error. Line 1, Char 1, Error 'Components is undefined', Code 0 and URL chrome://simppulltoolbar/content/lib/external.js. I selected Yes to continue running scripts. Then came this error. IE cannot display the webpage. I selected Diagnose Connection Problems but Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem.
