Lately explorer.exe has started to stop responding and crash randomly, when it does then it doesn't restart and I can't start it from the taskmanger/run/cmd and I have to restart or re-log to get it to work again.
Running on Windows 7 Ultimate x64
I looked at some of the solutions including the error check in the c:. I've installed the ccleaner on my computer as well and still didnt work. So the problem is, whenever I am on my computer and explorer crashes it says "the windows explorer has stopped working" and after that it just restarts the explorer but my all the icons in the system icons disappear except for the clock. I tried to go and change it but I can't, the sound, internet and uac icons disappear and I can only see them again if I reboot my computer. I am running windows 7 32-bit. [URL].

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter downgrading my AVG antivirus to the free version I restarted. After restarting my PC will no longer load windows 7. After "Launch startup repair (recommended) kicks in it goes to a loading screen. After that it goes black then after a short pause I get a blue screen that says: STOP: c000021a (FAatal System Error) and basically says that the system has been shut down. I can get to my FOXCONN motherboard setup but cannot get to safe mode.
View 1 Replies View Relatedtoday I have ran into a troublesome problem. When I turn on my computer, after 10-20 minutes it would BSOD then crash before I even have a chance to read it. After it restarts it will said that it is unable to boot and select a boot device. When I go into the BIOS the moment it restarts my hard drive would not appear there, but if I turn off the computer and turn it back on it would appear again as the selected boot device, but will soon later crash once more.

I just came back after a few days out, and for some reason my PC cashed several times today.So my PC will restart (more like crash) after I log-in, it is random, it can crash in a few seconds or a few minutes. Last time I used my PC, the "5,6,7" keyboard buttons didn't work (Logitech G15), I usually shutdown my PC every time I go to sleep or go out). I know that the computer crashes because, when I boot I get a screen telling me windows did not shut down correctly and I can use windows normally or with safe mode. View 12 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Toshiba Satellite Pro which had Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed from the retailer. It worked perfectly, and I had no problems. However, about 4 days ago, the hard drive failed, and I lost everything. This isn't the problem however. I took the laptop to have a replacement hard drive installed, and all a reinstallation of Windows 7 Home Premium. I received the laptop back a couple of days ago, and I had no problems with set-up. I noticed however, that whenever I try to shut the laptop down, or restart it (to apply changes features, configure updates etc) the entire laptop will become unresponsive on the "Shutting Down..." screen. The little blue circle will stop spinning, and none of the Brightness buttons, Cap Lock etc will function, so I know the whole thing has become unresponsive. This forces me to press and hold the power button everytime I wish to turn the laptop off, which of course is a strain on it. I have scanned the entire thing with MalwareBytes and Microsoft Security Essentials, so I know it isn't a virus of some kind (it wouldn't be anyway, as it was acting in this way before it was even connected to the internet.)

The computer does not restart neither shuts down. It justs freezes, and happened once when I was there. Yesterday I had to restart my machine due to Mozilla Thunderbird and Windows updates, however, when the box rebooted, my monitors displayed "No Signal". After a little troubleshooting and finding an old VGA cord, I figured out to hook it up to the on-board video card (the HDMI wouldn't work on it).Now for some reason the card isn't detected and when I use the disk to try and re-install the drivers, I just get a "No Drivers" message at the main menu. So it looks like my graphics card just went out. But wait! I also noticed (after much frustration) that when I tried to Hibernate the box, it didn't work. Now I have Hibernate set to my front power button, however, when I also try to do it from the start menu, Hibernate and Sleep are grayed out. Please help!!!To recap: After restart and Thunderbird/Windows updates, graphics card won't work along with losing the capability to sleep and hibernate the box.

If I try Safe mode it will get to SYSTEM32DRIVERSDISK.SYS and then just bluescreens and restarts again.Before it got to CLASSPNP.SYS but I tried to rename it to CLASSPNP.OLD and now it didn't really change much. I also tried using this code but it just tells me that some files are corrupt and it cannot repair it.If I try the automatic repair option it will just try and repair for a couple of hours and then say it cannot repair and rebooting the PC.

Completely randomly (this happens more often now - every 30 mins or so) the computer will freeze up, then brings me to a blue screen telling me that "A problem has been detected and your computer has been shut down to prevent damage". This stays on for only a second then the screen goes black. Five seconds later I get "Operating System Not Found". The only way I can use the computer again is to hold the power button down (which gives the computer a full power off), then turn it back on again.

My HP Probook 4320s laptop was purchased in October 2011 - It quickly developed the extremely annoying problem of freezing / crashing. I called the company that it was purchased it from, they asked me to do a memory test & hard drive test - they showed no errors. They then advised me to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit (it was preinstalled when purchased). I reinstalled it, & downloaded all of the drivers from the web (a painfully slow experience on Kenyan internet...!!). After installing all of them - it's still happening! Sometimes if left for a couple of minutes it will start to work again, sometimes it needs a reset with the power button.

Every now and then, my system just completely freezes, I can't anything. I can't even restart by pressing the Power button. I don't think it happens when I do a certain task, everything freezes one by one or window by window. Just as an example, first Windows Media Player will freeze then FireFox then Explorer and then the Windows Gadgets and the last to freeze is the cursor. I have no choice but to hold in the Power to hard shutdown my PC. Could this be because of my old motherboard or is it my hard drive crashing? I have 2 HDD, 250Gb each, the HDD that has windows on has about 70Gb free.

Running Win7 64 bit, built this computer back in December, has worked flawlessly until now. Last few days - operates fine for an hour or so, then freezes, goes black, crashes and reboots itself, only to stop at the loading OS screen due to 'Boot Disk Failure' Happens regardless of what I am doing, or even if idle. Have updated windows, ran virus and malware scans.

And starting today I've been getting constant APPCRASH errors from explorer.exe, it happens almost every 5 minutes (it's making me want to rage). I know the problem is ati/amd/catalyst from the error log.I'm installing the newest beta drivers after this posting and will update accordingly. [code]

I have gone to Event viewer to look for a reason and 9 out of 10 crashes acording to the faulting module is "msi.dll" Isn't msi the Microsoft installer?
