View 3 Replies View RelatedI am accessing another computer by read/write rights to specific folders.Today, I was at the host computer and I saw a file, that I deleted before, still there. When I was permanently deleting it, it was going off; but when I refresh, it was coming back. When I tried to just delete - recycle - it, it told me that I didn't have the rights to do it.When I checked the security options from the properties, it showed the owner as "Unable to display current owner" and didn't let me to change the owner or delete the file. What can I do in these kind of situations when current owner cannot be displayed or changed?(I understand the file can come from/to host computer, remote computer, and one of the external drives which may have a different owner -remote computer controls all the external drives, just some of the external drives has a creator owner in permissions also)

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just tried to install the latest iTunes update, but keep getting an error when it tries to access the C:Program FilesiPod folder. When I try to access the iPod folder directly through Windows Explorer, I get "Access is denied".The same happens when logged in with the system administrator account. When I right-click the folder and choose Properties > Security, the Current owner field shows "Unable to display current owner." And it won't allow either of the listed administrator accounts to take ownership. When I choose Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner, the Current owner field also shows "Unable to display current owner." And it won't allow me to Edit it either.I've tried opening the Command Prompt as the administrator, and deleting the folder, but it won't allow me to do that either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm going to be buying either a Logitech Quickcam Sphere Webcam or a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000.
I'm currently running the x64 Windows 7 RTM, I'm worried that buying either webcam will result in no x64 drivers.
Can anyone tell me if both or either have x64 drivers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to start by saying that I love Windows 7. The only driver issue I have is with this Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 which I just purchased. I am on a 32-bit system and based on some of the things I've heard on here, they have had no trouble. Here are the issues that I've been having.
1) I try to install the Quickcam software and it does so successfully (also in compatibility mode), but once I try to use the software, it freezes up.
2) The camera always works but because I cannot use the software, I have not been able to record a video. I bought the camera so I could use Google Talk with my family and that's all I really care about.
3) The microphone does not work at all. Tested it in Sound Recorder.
Where I am now: I got Windows 7 to install the drivers but not to install the software. So in Device Manager it shows that everything is working properly. The main thing I want to work is the microphone so I have functionality with Google Talk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded a friend's old laptop (Toshiba Satellite A70) to Windows 7, but there are no drivers available for his graphics chip/card.how to properly install it?I'm aware that the 9000 series only supports up to DX8.1 and thus can't run Aero, but that's not a big deal. I merely want the capability to run the machine at its native resolution without having "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" listed in Device Manager.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 64 turns off the monitor 1 signal after startup. At login, it powers off monitor 1 and powers on monitor 2. Windows 7 behaves as though dual display is working even though monitor 1 does not display. It's the same for single display, the monitor will not work on cable 1 except at startup. Both 'Extend these displays' in Windows Screen Resolution and 'Extend' in the Nvidia Control Panel is selected. And changing which one is primary does not turn on monitor 1. Nor does switching the position of display 1 in either (ex.left/right/top/bottom).GeForce 8400 GS; Dual Monitor Solution 59 pin (DMS-59) to 2 VGA adapter -tried two of these adapter cables.atest Driver: 306.23 - installed a clean reset install of the latest Nvidia driver released last week.Same Resolution: 2 of the 4 monitors I have tried have the exact same 'recommended' resolution (1280X 1024), both 60Hz, and even chose 16 bit color for both instead of 32 to reduce resources.
Linux worked: Dual display worked immediately when I tried it in Ubuntu 10. So, it's not the hardware. It works in Ubuntu 12 too but not properly -it won't transfer windows across displays. My Windows 7 64 is an upgrade from Vista 64. One person in another forum with the same problem resolved theirs by reinstalling Windows 7. But another got the same problem only after a fresh clean install of Windows 7 64 with the same GeForce 8400 GS and DMS-59 when it had previously worked in Vista. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS N51Vf on which I just changed a defective hard drive with a new one, same size and specs as the old. After a clean windows 7 install all was working fine. I created a System Restore Point. No errors reported, restore point created.I then tried to restore all my data and settings with a back up I had on a external hard drive. This back up has been made with LaCie Genie Back up Assistant, a program with decent review online. After having finished to restore the back up, I was asked to restart windows, which I did. Windows restarted but then it failed to log in giving an error (which appears to be quite common googling it). A window pop up saying "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details."If you say ok the windows keeps appearing again and again. There was no way to access windows whatever mode (safe, normal and all the other boot option appearing when pressing f8) I choosed. Startup repair was as well ineffective (since there was no problem in the startup process itself.)
People online reported the only way to fix this was to check the event log files on another computer. So I installed Ubuntu on the unallocated space I left when installing win 7, I copied the logs files, I went through all the errors in the event viewer of another computer, particularly those in application.evtx, I copied safe version of winlogon.exe logonUI.exe and userInit.exe on windows/system32 through Ubuntu but nothing worked. Same error preventing log in.I then went into the System Restore Point nasty affair. As I previously mentioned, I created this point prior to restore the LaCie backup. The Restore point was there, accessible through the standard recovery options. What appears is this: standard final window of System Restore and I couldn't select any of this drive and proceed. So I go to the Command Prompt and I realize that windows has been installed on D:, not on C:, which appears to be the system reserved partition with 70Mb free. Something standard when you install Windows 7 apparently. Since my backup was made copying files from C: and I didn't care for the path when restoring my LaCie backup, I thought I messed up things attempting to copy to the wrong drive, even though no error was reported to me.So I formatted everything, reinstalled windows paying attention not to create other partitions. Clean install, all went through fine. I check on Computer what's the windows unit label, and it is C indeed. I didn't check for the presence of other partitions. I re-restore files from the LaCie Backup. At the end I try to create a new System Restore point, but a weird error tells me that I can't. Already suspicious, I restart, to find myself on the exact same position as before, unable to login, unable to restore (both same as previously described) and, moreover, checking through command prompt, win 7 appears to be in the D: unit again with the C: set up to be the system reserved!!
I am very curious to know how to connect a laptop display to another laptop display. I have an old laptop and a new laptop with windows 7. I did some extended displays to other monitors. But any one have any idea about extending to a Laptop display from another Laptop.
I am just curious. Is it possible??
