View 1 Repliesthe display/monitor uses the generic driver for display and it is 1024×768 or 800x600 but it looks very odd it should be bigger because my screen is bigger. I have a acer monitor but is there something I can download to fix the display size?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 64 turns off the monitor 1 signal after startup. At login, it powers off monitor 1 and powers on monitor 2. Windows 7 behaves as though dual display is working even though monitor 1 does not display. It's the same for single display, the monitor will not work on cable 1 except at startup. Both 'Extend these displays' in Windows Screen Resolution and 'Extend' in the Nvidia Control Panel is selected. And changing which one is primary does not turn on monitor 1. Nor does switching the position of display 1 in either (ex.left/right/top/bottom).GeForce 8400 GS; Dual Monitor Solution 59 pin (DMS-59) to 2 VGA adapter -tried two of these adapter cables.atest Driver: 306.23 - installed a clean reset install of the latest Nvidia driver released last week.Same Resolution: 2 of the 4 monitors I have tried have the exact same 'recommended' resolution (1280X 1024), both 60Hz, and even chose 16 bit color for both instead of 32 to reduce resources.
Linux worked: Dual display worked immediately when I tried it in Ubuntu 10. So, it's not the hardware. It works in Ubuntu 12 too but not properly -it won't transfer windows across displays. My Windows 7 64 is an upgrade from Vista 64. One person in another forum with the same problem resolved theirs by reinstalling Windows 7. But another got the same problem only after a fresh clean install of Windows 7 64 with the same GeForce 8400 GS and DMS-59 when it had previously worked in Vista. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been crashing a lot lately. Usually, the computer freezes and weird lines appear on the display when it happens. Other times it just shows a BSOD and restarts. It started happening around 2-3 weeks after my motherboard, processor and RAM were changed because a part of the previous motherboard had burnt. The previous motherboard was ASUS M3A78-EM, the onboard graphics was ATI Radeon HD 3200 and RAM was 2 GB DDR2.I took the PC to a my computer vendor after everything I tried had failed. Firstly, he diagnosed it as an issue because of improper earthing/grounding in the switchboard where I plugged the computer and the UPS. I got the earthing issue sorted but to no avail, it still hanged/freezed. The second time I took it to him he said that he might have to update the BIOS and when I brought it back the problem had apparently been fixed but that was only for a few days. After like 4-5 days it started happening again. Same weird lines - green, magenta, purple and all the rest of it - started appearing. The HDD LED stops when this happens. I only observed the LED today, though. Today the computer freezed without those weird lines on two out of the 5 or 6 times it happenrd, it looked like it had just hanged but the HDD LED had gone off.Sometimes the PC doesn't start up at all immediately after it has crashed. That's what led me to guess it's a hardware issue. Also, it happens in safe mode and Windows XP too (I dual boot Windows XP and Windows 7) and I remember it once happening even before the computer had completely booted.Computer details:Windows 7 32-bitASUS M4A78LT-M-LEAMD Athlon II X2 250ATI Radeon 3000 onboard graphics1 x 2 GB DDR3 RAM250 GB SATAMinidumps and NirSoft BlueScreenView HTML report: url..

View 0 Replies View RelatedThis morning my HP DV 9000 laptop screen comes up grey with no discerning images. I have an additional monitor attached (for TV) and booted into safe mode with networking and can see the desktop in VGA on separate monitor only.
Looking in Device MGR I have two 'base system devices that need attention. They are not identified as to what they are only PCI Bus 7 device 5 function 3 & PCI bus 7 device 5 function 2.
Win 7 Prem Home 32 bit SP1
Intel 5500 @ 1.66ghz
2GB ram
NVIDIA geoforce 7600
Last night - everything ran fine. Read newspaper online & watch TV on separate monitor. Everything closed down without issue.
I am very curious to know how to connect a laptop display to another laptop display. I have an old laptop and a new laptop with windows 7. I did some extended displays to other monitors. But any one have any idea about extending to a Laptop display from another Laptop.
I am just curious. Is it possible??

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently isntalled windows 7 professional and I have three sata drives, one is the system drive where windows 7 is installed (C, my primary partition, the other is a storage drive (F and a drive to replace the partition (Z. My boot priority for the moment is the F: drive then the C:. This is because for some reason my C: drive, even though the system is installed on it, will not boot.
I tried several things like copying the hidden system folder in F:Boot to the C drive but that did not work. I recently did a repair install but that did not restore the boot manager. Is there a way to manually set my C: drive as my primary boot drive, without jumping through hoops, I bought the Z drive to replace the F drive and need to be able to boot without it.

Both agreed with each other on the updates and that all was well. It was some week later when I was working and closed the lid on my HP dv7 (Win 7 Home Premium) opened it again within 10 seconds and ever since the screen simply doesn't come back after closing the lid. I have set all power options to Max Performance, turned off Hibernation and Sleep with no change in outcome. Checked the updated BIOS (updated via OM Intel site) and no applicable (or at least identified) power settings found.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus EEE PC 1005HAB Netbook. I has been out of warranty for about a Year and a half now. It shows nothing - nothing - unless connected to an eternal monitor. But the reasons that netbooks are so cool is because they're suppose to be portable , right? This means that if I have to plug it into a big hunka monitor then I might as well use a full desktop because my netbook is no longer portable. It's been going on for about six months. I'm just really good at procrastinating. I've checked display setting, so count that out.

Example this text I am using now for this message is ok as long as I have increased the side of this display to about 2.5 times the size of the normal screen which increases the text size a lot. Trying to read email requires the magnifier option provided with Win 7 Pro, In Windows Live Mail I cannot increase the size of the windows as you can do on the Web, In talking about Windows Live Mail if I am looking at new mail which allways comes in bold I can see just infe whitout increasing the size of the font.. High contrast text makes much better reading, windows 7 Pro is much worse than XP.Increased the dots per inch that worked ok except it fouls up Expression Web 4 what I use to keep web sites up to date, It just looks to me like this, example if a person would restrict a light bulb to be lit 100% would be bright, 40% would be very dim, that looks to me like the problem in order to reduce current.

OS: Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
Graphics card: Radeon HD 5450
This graphics card is connected with a samsung syncmaster 2253bw (Main monitor) and a samsung LED TV ue40b6000vpxxn (HDMI to HDMI).
Screen Resolution Syncmaster: 1680x1050
Screen Resolution LED TV: 1920x1080p
Problem Description:
I've connected my graphics card with the hdmi 1 port of the led tv. The tv only shows a crispy image of the first few boot screens whenever i turn my desktop on. The tv shows the error "Mode Not Supported" once it gets to the account login screen. According to the tv manufacturer's manual, the screen resolution and refresh rate of both screens should match in order to get it working.
Actions taken:
I've tried out all possible screen resolution combinations at the control panel of the pc. None of them gets my tv to show what's on my main monitor screen.
Question:
Are there any other steps I can do in order to use my tv as a pc display?
