Before Opera did it, Open Office did it.When I close the offending program Dvorak is restored.I am NOT using the language bar and do not have qwerty set as a default layout, Only dvorak.

Feb 15, 2012I got problem with copying file.Well, problem is described in topic title.Lock symbol in file icon.When I make a "New" contents, there is no lock symbol.But when i copy or cut out and paste file, there IS lock symbol.i will describe it in "Old" file.It happens sometimes and sometime it doesn't.It's pretty random.Lock symbol disappear when i copy and paste old file.Like Overwritting or changing name and pasting it.It's not very serious when i'm working with current account but when my computer crashes and can't boot normally..I will use temporary OS to solve problem but Temp OS can't access file with lock symbol.

Dec 22, 2011I recently purchased a refurbished Sony Vaio PCG-6R3L with Windows 7.Everything was working fine, then I plugged in the USB plug for my wireless keyboard/mouse (Microsoft wireless optical desktop receiver 3.0A)I did not install anything for the keyboard, however windows automatically did something to get the keyboard to work (I think it downloaded the drivers automatically).From the wireless keyboard all the keys type exactly what they are supposed to, that's what I'm using to type this. I've used this keyboard on multiple computers, both with installing the software that came with it, and also just plugging it in, never caused this problem before.When I press and hold the FN key, all the keys type their regular symbol, however once I let go of the FN key they start printing the wrong symbol again.I did all kinds of searching online and went through all of the regional settings and such that I could find, and all the settings I could find were set to "united states english", which is also the only language/keyboard that I saw installed on the computer.

After about an hour of trying and several restarts (and my primary and secondary monitors switching for some reason), I could put the password in Once in Windows I found there was a keyboard issue: I was only typing the occasional special character (an accented i was one:) . Trying to type a test email I had the i-cursor available in the header (title-box) but not the body, even the special characters could not be typed in the main body. Have a friend with a new Toshiba Core i5 on which he has MS Office 2003 Professional fully installed, including PowerPoint. Three weeks ago, he complained that he could not open .pps files attached to e-mails, so he brought the computer to me. I opened the file associations subroutine, found .pps in the list of extensions, and ultimately (tha'ts another whole story) got MS PowerPoint registered as the default program to open such files.Today he claimed he got another e-mail with a .pps attachment, and could not open it, so brought the computer to me again. I don't know why he wasn't able to open it, because I called up the e-mail, clicked the .pps attachment and it opened perfectly. However, I opened the /Default Programs/Set Associations list and scrolled down to see what the .pps entry said was the current default.

Aug 18, 2011Time to time when I am typing up something my typing would freeze and then would resume, after the missing characters show up. I also noticed that when I am running WMP listening to an online streaming, fixed at 128kbps, the music would studder/pause and continue, it would also sound like scratching sometimes, very short pulses like something is causing PC to strain under a lot of workload but there isn't much happening. I also set the buffer at 10 seconds to avoid the problems if it was bandwidth related, but I don't think it is due to network. It happens at T1 and it also happens at home with 30mbps connection. Time to time the processor would also report high usage on the monitor.

Jul 6, 2012I recently upgraded to Window 7 Home 64x from vista ultimate 32x. I also installed 8gb of RAM. I downloaded all the drivers/updates and everything was fine. Then, I entered in a System Password and an admin password in the set up menu since this hasnt been done previously.
Once I rebooted, it started its normal boot process but then brought me to a white screen that asked for the system or admin password. The problem is, there is no spot to enter the password. I typed it anyway and hit enter and I got "invalid password. hit enter to try again".No letters, or numbers are visible, but i know the keyboard works because it recognized the enter key. After three attempts, it says "hit enter to abort", and then it shuts down.
It wont recognize f2 or f12 when I first turn it on, so right now I cannot access anything. Just that white password screen. I have also tried a usb keyboard. Dell Inspiron 1545
