I'm running company software that includes the trademark symbol in windows titles and message box titles (as part of the application name). It works fine on every machine except mine. Instead of the superscript "tm" I get "™". I've checked fonts and tried regional settings. I am either using US English or Canadian English. I have the same problem regardless.

A pop-up error message then says:"Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."This has now happened several times, at random, while I'm on my laptop. Doesn't seem to matter what I'm working on at the time.

No problems, however the last 48 hours my screen goes black then sometimes it will come back on and say that my display driver crashed. I've tried looking around but i see no error reports or anything on the driver. I am using a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS. I just uploaded the complete system specs to the website.

The computer turns on however I get no signal from the monitor, it's on but nothing on the screen so i cant get into BIOS or anything.
I've tried:
- Using different cables
- Taking out and putting the CMOS battery in
- Using different Monitors

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got problem with copying file.Well, problem is described in topic title.Lock symbol in file icon.When I make a "New" contents, there is no lock symbol.But when i copy or cut out and paste file, there IS lock symbol.i will describe it in "Old" file.It happens sometimes and sometime it doesn't.It's pretty random.Lock symbol disappear when i copy and paste old file.Like Overwritting or changing name and pasting it.It's not very serious when i'm working with current account but when my computer crashes and can't boot normally..I will use temporary OS to solve problem but Temp OS can't access file with lock symbol.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a refurbished Sony Vaio PCG-6R3L with Windows 7.Everything was working fine, then I plugged in the USB plug for my wireless keyboard/mouse (Microsoft wireless optical desktop receiver 3.0A)I did not install anything for the keyboard, however windows automatically did something to get the keyboard to work (I think it downloaded the drivers automatically).From the wireless keyboard all the keys type exactly what they are supposed to, that's what I'm using to type this. I've used this keyboard on multiple computers, both with installing the software that came with it, and also just plugging it in, never caused this problem before.When I press and hold the FN key, all the keys type their regular symbol, however once I let go of the FN key they start printing the wrong symbol again.I did all kinds of searching online and went through all of the regional settings and such that I could find, and all the settings I could find were set to "united states english", which is also the only language/keyboard that I saw installed on the computer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I switch user accounts the computer will start the switch and then lock up with a display message that says no signal on the monitor. It happens if the computer has been running for hours or only a couple of minutes. I have to shut the PC off and leave it off for 20-30 minutes. I can then restart and enter any user account. But if I try to switch user or logoff and pick a different user the whole cycle begins anew.

When I use a readkey method in a program it will display that the input it is reading is a 255 which is ancii for 'blank' if I understand right. I believe the boxes are the visual representation of a blank?
I am using windows 7 ultimate on a dell inspiron 1501. what in the world would cause it to continue reading this input? The thing that is strange is it only happens during a readkey call in code or a program that uses a similar method to type with such as a java application that is used to show work for homework. Things such as threads like this, or word processors or notepad etc don't do this.
For the past couple of months, I've noticed that dialog boxes (For Save as, Open, Error messages, ect) are not appearing. The window will go unfocused for a second but the dialog box never appears. This has only been happening with certain programs such as Microsoft Office, Steam, and Musenotes (Although there are many others too) while other programs such as notepad are working completely fine.All of the solutions I've found either have to do with AutoCad (Which I don't have) or the dialog box simply appearing off screen (None of the solutions work)

Last night, while going through a very informative troubleshooting thread with some of your knowledgeable members, I came across an option to when something is clicked to pick, it displays a checkmark box. On everything! I've find that I dislike this immensely. To my caprice and chagrin, I've forgotten where to find the option so that I can turn off this feature.

The house computers always defaulted to switch user. After I check out I discovered that my lap top did also. I cannot even delete a progam using control panel. The window immediately scrolls to the top each try.
