I recently purchased a laptop and I cannot figure out how to adjust some of the settings. For example, when you're on a website where you fill out information boxes such as name, address, email, etc. the boxes are so light that they don't show up. I have to hit tab just to find them. Even on this page right below title: the actual box does not show up.

View 6 Replies View RelatedUsing mailmerge in Word 7, with a template with a picture box (our logo) top left, and a text box (containing address) top right. If I print the document without merging any data, it's fine. As soon as I import my data - nowhere near either of the boxes - the address text box to the right of the logo picture box gets partially obscured by blank space and ends up showing only the last half of each line. If I remove the picture box, the contents of the text box print OK; or if I take the address out of the text box and enter it as indented text in the same place to the right of the logo, it's also fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo for a while, windows updates have been causing BSODs on my PC, usually I just go and remove them via safe mode and all is well again. Well last night, after doing that, my PC BSOD'd and on rebooting found that several things were bad. First, the start orb didn't work and I couldn't pull up the start menu. All the text is gone from my desktop icons, the date and time is missing, all the items within control panel and My computer are a jumbled mess of random lines and boxes, so that means I cannot do anything in Windows explorer or control panel. This happens even within safe mode. So far, I have tried doing a system restore, sfc /scannow, startup repair and rebooting in last known good configuration. Nothing I've tried has been successful in solving this issue. About the only thing I can do on my computer is use the web browser and type blindly in the address bar, since all the text is also gone from the top of tabs and the address bar
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a form which has many text boxes. My default language has been set to Arabic so each text box accepts Arabic entry to begin with. In some text boxes I need to enter English only, so I have set the language in that text box to be English. When the cursor comes to this text box, it takes little time than usual. After entering the text to move to the next text box also it takes a little more time. To sum up, whenever the cursor reaches the text box that has been set to accept a particular language, it takes more time to enter and exit. How can I overcome this problem.

With my new computer and Windows 7, I'm finding that information that I enter into the different sites that I visit is saved at that site. Is there an adjustment I can make so that the information I enter into the site like on Ancestry is not saved, and dissapears immediately after I leave the site?

Have created some basic online forms. Now I am tasked with displaying each entire field length (visually somehow) so the user can see approximately how much room they have to enter test. Examples:Name: Field length highlighted or shaded Location: Underlining would work to indicate field lengthPhone: ( Parenthesis might work )If I type "Enter Name Here" in Properties, under Default Text, only "Enter Name Here" is shaded. View 6 Replies View RelatedOk this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.
I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.
If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.
I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.
How do I insert my pictures inside the text or beside the text so it won't use so much space?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc).One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.

When I use a readkey method in a program it will display that the input it is reading is a 255 which is ancii for 'blank' if I understand right. I believe the boxes are the visual representation of a blank?
I am using windows 7 ultimate on a dell inspiron 1501. what in the world would cause it to continue reading this input? The thing that is strange is it only happens during a readkey call in code or a program that uses a similar method to type with such as a java application that is used to show work for homework. Things such as threads like this, or word processors or notepad etc don't do this.
For the past couple of months, I've noticed that dialog boxes (For Save as, Open, Error messages, ect) are not appearing. The window will go unfocused for a second but the dialog box never appears. This has only been happening with certain programs such as Microsoft Office, Steam, and Musenotes (Although there are many others too) while other programs such as notepad are working completely fine.All of the solutions I've found either have to do with AutoCad (Which I don't have) or the dialog box simply appearing off screen (None of the solutions work)

Last night, while going through a very informative troubleshooting thread with some of your knowledgeable members, I came across an option to when something is clicked to pick, it displays a checkmark box. On everything! I've find that I dislike this immensely. To my caprice and chagrin, I've forgotten where to find the option so that I can turn off this feature.

The house computers always defaulted to switch user. After I check out I discovered that my lap top did also. I cannot even delete a progam using control panel. The window immediately scrolls to the top each try.

IE9 won't bring up any popup boxes in Facebook or Twitter, HOw do I rectify this? Popup blocker is off in IE9, Fire box works fine so I think it's a setting in IE9

Sometimes when I attempt to select several words in a sentence the high lite stops during the drag operation and thhe edit box appears. I might try this several times before it finally works correctly. Other times the edit box appears when I select a Bookmark in FireFox. I just now hit Enter and the FF file menu box appeared.

i have been searching this and other forums for hours trying to find the cause/remedy for randomly appearing black boxes instead of desktop icons after boot up. its 50/50 wether normal icons appear or if black boxes appear. the icon texts are always present.
every time i boot in safe mode they appear normally. i use the "small icon" setting, if i change to medium or large icon size i still get the "small icon" sized black box overlayed on the larger icon (half icon half black box).
has anyone come accross this problem or have any advice for me, bearing in mind my computer skills are limited.
when ever I click or select a icon a tick shows in the top right corner how do i disable this.
