I have just installed a Forex Trading Platform that needs my PC running all the time,otherwise it pauses. If i am away from my PC for more than a minute or two the system hibernates and i have to login in again,How do i stop this from happening
View 1 RepliesI have set my laptop to go to sleep when I close the lid. According to the online help, it should stay in sleep mode unless the battery gets low, in which case it hibernates. Well after a while of being asleep, my laptop goes into hibernation regardless of the battery life remaining. This can happen after an hour or so.
How can I stop it from hibernating, or is this normal?
I had the brilliant idea to delete the manufacturer's recovery partition on my ASUS Win 7 64-bit laptop, and reclaim that space for my C drive, and now my system is unbootable. I get the error message "autochk program not found" then stop: c000021a Fatal System Error. I have run System Recovery several times to no avail. I tried to do a repair using the Win 7 DVD, but that didn't work either.

I have a blank screen, the monitor light is amber, the fans are spinning but no hard drive noise like I usually hear. I see that the Port 80h POST code says E6 which refers to "Started connecting drivers" I have tried resetting CMOS by removing the battery and waiting 1 hr, still get the same problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a FW-1082 mixer/sound device connected to a firewire pcie card, and my problem is that whenever i try to shutdown or restart computer i get a bsod. after some research on the net, i have found that i can make a net stop .bat file to stop "AudioSrv" and "AudioEndpointBuilder". However when i run the batch file for the "AudioSrv" i get a System error 5 has occurred, Access is denied, message. Can anyone please tell me how i can resolve this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI moved Windows 7 from a partition on a physical hard drive to a new SSD. It was pretty easy, and everything works great except the hibernate function. The screen goes blank for about two seconds and then comes back on. Nothing power-related appears in the Event Viewer. The PC restarts, shuts down, and even sleeps with no trouble. I ran powercfg -h off and then powercfg -h on to delete and recreate the hibernation file,no offense, but no lectures about how a "clean" reinstall is required or even recommended when moving to an SSD. That's just not true. Similar to upgrading to a larger physical hard drive, all you do is copy the partition to the new drive and continue on your way.

Prior to this, when I left the netbook plugged in overnight, it would go to sleep mode after 10 minutes, then sometime during the night always power off completely (hibernate). This would allow me to take it with 100% battery and power it up later when needed. Now after the reinstall, it goes to sleep mode, but always remains in sleep mode and will never hibernate. I've scoured the power options, and confirmed that hibernate is enabled with powercfg. Is this just a simple option I'm over looking? The only difference is that I installed SP1 this time!

I have tried the recovery disk to repair startup but nothing happened. I don't have a Windows 7 disk either...I need this repaired by Sunday as this is the only time I have other PCs to use in case I need to download/burn anything.
EDIT: I also forgot to mention I have no system restore points and I cannot boot last known configuration or boot into Safe Mode?
Whenever I try to log into my laptop I just get a deformed taskbar, everything is running like there's 30MB of RAM installed and I can't even open task manager, eventually resulting in me having to crash the laptop after 10 minutes because nothing will progress.The reason I'm able to post right now, is because I'm in safe mode.Safe mode boots fine, let's me log in, and I'd use it except.. well.. When I opened it, there was immediately an option to alter the startup settings so I deleted vista and set windows 7 to default. Now, when I turn on thhe put, it automatically tries and fails to start vista, with no option to start 7 (meaning I can't use my computer). I've scoured the bios for something to do but can't find anything. Also, I've tried putting in the disc I used to install with, but the same messages come up, even when I say boot from CD and not the HDD!

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently i have been having trouble getting my Dell Studio 1747 laptop to hibernate or sleep. When i go to start and hit either sleep or hibernate, the screen shuts off but the computer never fully goes off. The fans continue to run and the usb power lights are still on. It will stay like this for hours. I have let it go all night before and the only way to shut it off is to hold the power button and do a force restart. I have had this problem before. After a different discussion post we determined it was a power settings problem and after I set hard disks no not shut off the problem was solved. I had to reinstall my OS and when i put the same power settings back, the problem continued to happen. But i still think it may be a power setting. I have all of the current drivers installed and my computer is free of any viruses. Im running Windows 7 Pro x64 but it was also a problem with home edition.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo if i click hibernate and repeatedly press my power button, until the small light with the cylinder icon at the bottom front side of my laptop turns off, my laptop powers back on once that light goes off, once it powers back on it resumes Windows again and everything is amazingly faster than before. It goes slow again once i shutdown or restart, so i do this every time I'm gonna use my laptop. I press the power button while it is hibernating, it's not fully hibernated and turned off while I'm pressing the button, and it never really hibernates, it just boots back up while it's trying to hibernate lol..

I installed Windows 7 this week on my notebook Dell XPS M1710.
Everything is good working, except one thing :
When I close the screen, so the notebook go hibernating, and then I reopen it, the notebook leave the hibernating mode, and here the screen goes dark, the brightness is very low, despite the brightness setting is at max. The only solution is to reboot the notebook.
So now I can't use hibernating mode, I have to always shutdown the notebook.
Does anybody have the same problem ?
For the last month or so, my home-built Windows 7 (Home Premium) PC doesn't always hibernate properly - it just hangs at the black screen and I have to hold in the power button for at least 4 seconds to 'power off' the PC.
I have no idea why this has started to happen and sometimes it works fine. Sometimes when I boot back up I get the message that Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown and will notify me if a solution is available, but no other details are provided.
I've checked the Windows system logs and can see no indication of what is causing the issue when shutting down. Obviously with the screen going black I cannot see any error messages either!

run windows 7 on an old laptop, an hp pavilion zt1250 (1ghz, 1gb ram, 20gb hdd, dvd/cd, external wlan, xga screen, that sort of old). it isn't like a serious installation, it is more like a "post on Internet to a "windows 7 running on a nine year old laptop" or "wow your friends with your old computer running a newer os than their new one (possibly)"", and because it looks pretty darn cool. anyway, i pop in the install dvd and we get past the gray progress bar and onto "starting windows", until all of the sudden out of nowhere, just a second before the cutesy windows logo animation appears, i am instantly greeted with a blue screen saying nothing more than:
stop: 0x000000a5 (0x0001000b, 0x50434146, 0xffd0ac0, 0x00000000)
it does it on all install discs that i've tried, and it gives me the same error consistently every time. i even tried starting the installer within xp, and that starts okay, but after the first reboot where it boots the partially installed os from the hard drive, it does the same thing before it can continue. everything that is not essential has been unplugged, tried removing ram modules, on battery or plugged in, checked the extremely simple bios settings menu (you can change like three things, none of which pertain to the situation), and most other items that could possibly be covered here. this leads me to the conclusion, that since it my disc is fine and my hardware is fine (did a bios update), that the installation disc must be first modified in some way, perhaps to skip a certain unnecessary check?
after running Advanced System Care Free (latest version), I noticed that my windows explorer pinned folders jumplist disappeared. Is there a way I can prevent that from happening again? I can't find a specific setting for it.

How it goes is that, at first the system was really stable, without any crashing issues, but recently, when i tried flashing my BIOS, i some how screwed it up and the PC doesnt POST .. so to cut it short, i've manage to changed to a brand new motherboard to replaced it with the faulty one, and that's where BSOD starts to happen.
