I have just recovered my laptop toshiba satellite L505 es5018 windows 7 home premium 64bit to factory settings successfully. After that system start up but keep configuring system continuously. How may I solve this problem?.

I do have the Driver & Utility Ver.1.0 disk, but I have lost the System recovery disk that was made by the store where I purchased my laptop from. I have tried recurring it using the partition file thing that's on my computer, but I received an error message. I am wondering, is there a way to recover my Notebook to factory settings without using the partition or the recovery DVD?

View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently I was attacked with malware and I had no internet security. It messed up some programs, changed the description of processes etc. I read up on how to get rid of malware and such, and I got Malwarebytes, SpyBot - search&destroy, and finally Avast! computer antivirus. After running scans with malwarebytes and Spybot, removing all the trojans and programs that were affected, I used ccleaner to clean the registry. Although I did all that, it seems like there is still something in my computer because spybot keeps scanning the same files over and over, and both Malwarebytes and Avast! keep saying that a malware threat had been stopped, while showing a URL that I never even connected to. Sometimes it even happends when internet explorer is off. what I really want to do is to restore my PC to the factory settings and start with a fresh NEW system. I'll make sure to get AVAST right away to insure security. As for backing up files, I'm afraid that the virus would somehow be in certain files and infect my computer again. Nothing really important that I'd lose. So I don't really mind so much to do a full factory reset.

I think my computer got a virus. It was working fine until i shut it down. I tried to turn it on the next day and it said something like "windows is trying to repair the problem" or something like that. My PC is connected wirelessly to the network. The Xbox is connected via ethernet. I have Windows Firewall completely off and no other firewall installed. In the network map, I can see the Xbox 360. I can see my Xbox and it can see my PC. But they will not link together completely.
I can use get it to work if I have my computer wired to the router. The only problem is trying to go wireless. I go through the setup to get to add extender and get the 8 digit code. I put it in and it goes to the "configuring computer settings" and then times out saying "cannot setup extender". When I go to the online section it only tells me to enable UPnP setting which is already enabled.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI ordered a refurbished/reconditioned Packard Bell EasyNote TJ74 laptop from a very well known retailer in the UK called Currys. I received it two days ago. Initally, the laptop stayed on for all of about 5 seconds before shutting down, however I have solved that problem by Googling the text and looking here: pxe-e61:media test failure check cable. It was basically trying to boot from something other than the HDD itself, so I set the HDD to the top of the list in the BIOS.Then, the next problem I got was this: I get the "Windows is Starting..." screen, and then a setup services starting message, and then this:"Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer."I restart the computer and... nothing happens. No Windows installation/recovery disk came with the laptop.So, I set the laptop to boot from CD in the BIOS and, using a 64-bit edition recovery disc I found online and ran startup repair using it, apparently no problems were found, and I got a message about ensuring I didn't have any cameras etc. attached... ..Someone online recommended I disable digital driver signing, so I did that by pressing F8 at one point when it was booting... it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Safe mode doesn't work either.Currys have told me they can do nothing but send a courier to my house to pick up the laptop... I don't get a replacement, simply a refund. I needed this laptop for Monday as I start university.I've set it back to boot from HDD and I'm getting the "Windows could not finish configuring the system, please restart" message again and again and again, and the system just constantly restarts and the same message appears. It is a never-ending loop!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7, 64-bit on an Intel Corei32100T processor on a Gigabyte H67A motherboard with 8gb ram, connected via HDMI to a Sony Bravia. No sound or video card as its all on the processor. I want to set up the system to record a line-in source for (1) my turntable and mixer, and (2) interface for my guitar and microphone. My device manager shows both Intel(R) display audio and Realtek HD audio. Clicking on the speaker icon in the notification area brings up the Intel display audio mixer with three sources, the Sony, system sounds and Firefox. I'm sure this is controlling the system audio output. No way to a recording mixer. Bringing up the Realtek audio manager still shows me no way to set recording levels. Since I'm planning to use the pc for recording LP to disc (on my second thousand, now, switching from favorite old programs on an XP machine to the newly built system)and for live recording, properly setting up the basic sound paths in the system before setting up Audacity and Artist One from Presonus.

I want to restore the comp using the acer feature "restore to factory settings". But I wonder, must I have a Win7-installation CD after the restore?? Because the computer came with preinstalled Windows 7 when I bought it. Keep in mind that it's a factory settings restore not a complete format c (i think) I've done a backup on hardrive "D" of my current system in case of anything going wrong. If a Cd is required, could you tell me another way to format the comp without buying the CD? My security center is damaged, so restore to point doesnt work either. If you got any solutions to how to start security center except setting it to "automatic" in services.msc (Since this doesnt work), please post 'em.

However when I try to restore my laptop to its factory settings, I get stuck. Upon booting up my computer I press f8 to get into the advanced boot menu. From there I select system repair but after selecting that, it always gets stuck at windows is loading files. It doesn't look my computer is loading anything either and it doesn't make sounds as of it were.

I don't have any Windows disks (it's 2 years old and I'm fairly sure I wasn't provided any), so I'm trying to do it through advanced boot options. When I hit F8 during startup and select repair, I am shown the screen "Windows is loading files..." and then the system starts as usual, rather than giving me options for a fresh install, which the description (and every set of instructions I've seen) would suggest.
