View 2 Repliesbut can't seem to find the right post. I want to set my PC Dell Inspiron 560 Windows 7, back to the factory settings as I just bought a new one and I'm selling this one.I have the CDs to do this, but when it comes on the screen, there is so much "jumble" on the screen, and I have no clue what it means, or what to do. I hit f12, when the Dell logo appears. Is there an easier way to do this, or can someone explain what I do, I am totally clueless on this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedError code:0xe0f00013I have a HP Pavilion laptop (windows 7 Ultimate 64bit system with a 2.3gb AMD Turion 11 Dual-Core with 8gb Ram.I bought it about two years ago for my daughter. When I bought it I burned DVD's for the Recovery Disks. I have never used them UNTIL now.She was getting a message that it was NOT a Genuine copy, but it is.I figured that if I restored the laptop with the original DVD's that it would fix the problem.I loaded the recovery Disks On the last Disk it gave me this:Recovery Manager could not restore your computer using the factory image-Please contact HP support,Error Code:0xe0f00013.I tried restarting laptop and it said BOOTMGR is missing .Press ctrl+ALT+DEL to restart. I called HP and ordered the operating system. When it arrived I loaded the DVD's BUT on the last Disk it gave me the same ERROR.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy family's desktop has reset back to factory settings seemingly by itself. This has happened before but I was able to do a system restore and bring back all the settings, files, and programs. I tried the same thing today but the restore failed (it still failed after I followed its advice to turn the anti-virus off and then run restore) so I've got a large amount of files (pictures, music, documents) missing that I am hoping are still on the hard drive somewhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a pc and recently it just kept throwing up BSOD with error "8E" after a factory reset with OEM partiton 30 seconds into loading windows and BSOD again. so I deleted vista and reinstalled 7 ultimate N. but left the OEM partition intact, which now runs smooth and all grand. what I was seeing was how or can I now go back into the OEM partiton and load the original OS back to vista to see if it blue screens again. do I have to install vista off a CD and then 'repair' after I have reinstalled to get to the OEM boot menu . when I loaded and put back to factory first time below 'command prompt' in "system recovery options" I had a Packard bell option to go to factory settings?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently had a virus/malware attack on my system, removed it, but the system is damaged (Security center & updates cant be started etc) . I want to restore the comp using the acer feature "restore to factory settings". But I wonder, must I have a Win7-installation CD after the restore?? Because the computer came with preinstalled Windows 7 when I bought it. Keep in mind that it's a factory settings restore not a complete format c (i think) I've done a backup on hardrive "D" of my current system in case of anything going wrong. If a Cd is required, could you tell me another way to format the comp without buying the CD? My security center is damaged, so restore to point doesnt work either. If you got any solutions to how to start security center except setting it to "automatic" in services.msc (Since this doesnt work), please post 'em.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a dell Inspiron n7010 and im trying to reformat my computer. I backed up all my personal files into an external hdd. However when I try to restore my laptop to its factory settings, I get stuck. Upon booting up my computer I press f8 to get into the advanced boot menu. From there I select system repair but after selecting that, it always gets stuck at windows is loading files. It doesn't look my computer is loading anything either and it doesn't make sounds as of it were.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor a variety of reasons, I want to do a clean install on my laptop, which is a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7. I don't have any Windows disks (it's 2 years old and I'm fairly sure I wasn't provided any), so I'm trying to do it through advanced boot options. When I hit F8 during startup and select repair, I am shown the screen "Windows is loading files..." and then the system starts as usual, rather than giving me options for a fresh install, which the description (and every set of instructions I've seen) would suggest.

I was just wondering if, when I restore to factory settings (since I don't have another point to restore to), will my laptop be wiped completely? Since I don't have any installation CDs or anything, I don't want to restore it to factory settings if it'll wipe it completely.will it wipe my laptop blank or restore it to the point it was at when I started it following purchasing it (all the basic programs and such already installed)?
