View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to reset my computer to factory settings a while back. I've done nothing to it except download advanced system optimizer and windows antivirus. This was a miracle alone due to the fact that my Computer locks up for extensive periods of time and will barely ever finish a task; such as transferring a picture to USB drive, scan, or any click command. It has never done this before the reset.
View 9 Replies View RelatedNow, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds). Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?
im trying to factory reset my computer because i'm just tired of having a full HD, and random software from years ago. Anyways, my current OS is Windows 7 and I have an Alienware m15x. Now i've read up on a few ways to restore this specific computer, however, I don't have the installation disc, AlienRespawn/DellDataSafe does not appear when press f8 at boot menu, and i don't have a factory system image to recover from apparently. So with this being said, Is there anyway to factory reset? I have a bootable USB drive with windows 7 recovery on it, but I need a system image or something I believe. I've also tried download AlienRespawn Win 7 patch off of alienware.com but when I try to use it it says "Change.MBR failed"

On my HP Windows 7 Home Premium x64 bit I have been having troubles booting it saying Bootmgr is missing ect. Since I already have everything backed up I wish to factory restore the computer. But since I can't boot the computer because of these errors I need a disk, and my computer came with none. The only thing I can load atm is Windows 7 recovery disk, but it has no options to fully factory reset. If anyone can help me find a download to a Windows 7 Home Premium x64 bit factory reset disc I can burn on my blank disc, I would be very much obliged.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOnce upon a time I set up a Windows PW so I could have a separate acct for guests. Then I spent time couch surfing and had my PC in a box. When I started using it again, I found I couldn't remember the PW anymore, and after a week of trying to recall it, was forced to do a Factory Reset. I lost ALL of my files, installed software other than what came with the system, and of course - because the guest acct had no Admin privs, I couldn't make a back-up before the factory reset... Is there any way to revert the process to a time say... Before I instituted the Windows PW? So not just roll it back prior to my Factory Reset, but ALSO to a further time in the past (reset 1/21/12, but need to revert to 10/01/11)..??

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm on my first and new laptop, still on week one. Permissions were being stolen by the OS and making programs irrelevant. This seems to be a breaking problem in the General Forum this week with many users coming in with symptoms of that.So I made a recovery USB stick, downloaded an .iso from Digital River, and am currently trying to do a factory restore. My first try I pressed F11 to get the choices and I didn't unplug my mouse against directions and my screen stayed black but on during the supposed reset, I got impatient and rebooted with the Power button and it said something about couldn't find BOOTMNG.exe. So I hit F9 on startup and got to another chance to reset to factory, but used my USB stick, which worked AFAIK, but since, my screen is still black but on instead of seeing any sign of activity for the past 25 minutes.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought a computer on craigslist a while back and it's been working great and all but lately it started slowing down really badly. I play WoW and Skyrim mostly. I used to be able to play at 60 fps or so now I can drop from 30-15 fps. I considered doing a system restore but there weren't any restore points because there weren't any being created every week or so for some reason. So really the only option I have now is to completely restore my computer to it's original settings. When I first bought the computer the guy who sold it to me told me that he'd wiped the hard drives clean and that's what I'm trying to do right now but he never gave me a back up disk or a disk for the OS which is what I'm really worried about. He had windows 7 ultimate installed. I'm afraid that if I try to do a factory reset that I won't have an OS to reinstall onto my computer.
These are my specs if they matter any.

Recently I got malware on my computer and it has been reeking havoc! I got my ET1331g-05w from Walmart about 2 years ago, and it did not come with a boot disk out of the box (Had a chance to make one then but didn't...) I have backed up all my files and have been trying to do a Factory Reset but can't seem to get it to work. The Malware has made it so I cannot do a System Restore to an earlier date...
When I try to use the Emachine Recovery Management tools, the second I hit the "Completely Restore System to Factory Default" button I get a pop-up stating "Hard drive configuration is not set to the factory default. Restore aborted"...
When I try rebooting and hit Alt + F10 at the Manufacturers Logo it starts loading the System Recovery Tool, but stops and gives an error message stating "Napp_KM: napp7.exe error" and has error code: 0X 10054162 and prompts me to Abort...
I can't seem to find a boot-able Emachine Windows 7 downloadable disk anywhere. I should note the computer is for the most part fully functional but slower than snot, and video game and video playback has become very choppy if not usable at all!
I really don't want to go spend $100-$200 to get a new copy of Windows 7, I just want to get this dang thing reset to Factory Configuration.
