I've got a Dell laptop that has to be returned for a refund and I was wondering how to transfer my bookmarks over to a thumbdrive? I want to have them ready so I can put them on my new laptop when I decide what I'm getting.
got updated graphics/raid controller card drivers on a thumb drive. can I insert a thumbdrive with graphics card/raid controller drivers when it asks, or will this cause problems?
I have problem with my laptop acer aspire 4730zg,im trying to install windows 7 in my laptop using secondhand hardisk 80g,the original harddisk is 250g has corrupted.my first problem is in the middle of installation an error pop-up saying "windows cannot be installed to this disk".This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk.Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."I try changing from "IDE to AHCI" and "AHCI to IDE" in the bios menu but still does not work both ways.I tried to install WinXP,VIsta and Windows 7 and all still stuck in the middle of installation. So i want to update bios, because there is a bios update from acer that fix unbootable hardisk problem for this model.
My second problems are since the hardisk does not have any OS install,i cannot update bios using regular method.I need to flash it using thumbdrive in dos,if anyone can show me step by step to update bios and how to create the bootable thumbdrive for this model
I have windows 7 firefox with yahoo. I am trying to cleanit up but it won't work. I make anew file and then try to put the single things in there and it wont work
the last hour I was organizing all my bookmarks on Firefox 5 into folders and sub- folders.I had to do a lot of copying and pasting, and I noticed firefox was not responding everytime I copied or pasted.for example I was copying and pasting folder with thousands of bookmarks(2000-12K)And it wasn't fast! I am quite disappointed with the performance. Not only that, but after I finished copying when I selected one of the bookmarks in the folder, it was not responsive for a few seconds.copying, pasting, and selecting took between 10s to 1m!!! This is a lot of time to wait just to move bookmarks around!
My IE9 won't save my favorites/bookmarks? How do I fix that? I called MS and they took control but still I don't have favorites or bookmarks. What do I do? Can I go back to IE8? How?
My laptop machine is MacBook Air which is configured to be a dual boot system for Mac OS X and Windows 7. I installed Mozilla Firefox on both OSes. My question is if there is a way to let the two FFoxes share a common bookmarks file so that either one can update the file.
I am running windows 7 (64bit) IE 8. Now for some unknown reason to me when I click on my favorites tab it's showing programs instead of my favorites. All my bookmarks are still in my fav folder but I don't understand how this has happened.
Import bookmarks to Chrome, zoom they are right on the bookmarks bar. Same with FF. I can update them in 20 seconds. With IE, I have to import to favorites bar and then rearrange them alphabetically. I use Chrome and FF, but IE9 more. And this is just a killer, as I am always adding bookmarks.
Using Win 7 x64 and Firefox 4 with a Dell 23.5" LCD monitor, I randomly see Firefox bookmarks (1 or 2 bookmarks) appearing in the area at the bottom of the screen where the Firefox add-ons are shown (one add-on currently - "Ad Block Plus" - so the red stop sign shows) and blending into the taskbar/quick launch tool bar. These random bookmarks show up about centered on the width of the screen. If I click anywhere in the Taskbar/quick launch tool bar, the shown bookmarks vanish.
I have windows 7 firefox. I cannot manage my booksmarks. They say to go up to bookmarks and pick "manage bookmarks". I don't have that option. I try making a folder and moving links into them and they won't work.
This started about 3 days ago, and I'm not sure how. I've run Spybot, AVG and other programs, but nothing seems to stop it.Whenever I click on a link in my bookmarks, it gets deleted in the folder almost automatically afterwards. The bookmarks that get deleted seem to happen at random. When I replaced the bookmarks and clicked them again, sometimes they are fine while others that survived the first round get erased, while some bookmarks remain untouched. This happens to bookmarks in completely different folders, and my history seems to have been left untouched.
How to detect duplicate bookmarks in Firefox, Chrome? I try this Firefox add-ons (Bookmark Duplicate Detector 0.7.5) but its not support Firefox 4.0.1.
Reformatted & added Win 7 to #2 PC. I imported "my Favorites" from internet explorer by FF browser, bookmarks > Import & Backup. The favorites from i.e. were mostly held in 20 folders with sub folders then the rest, loose individual sites. The entire list - folders & loose sites now appear in the Private folder config: START > AaLF personal folder > Favorites. But in the firefox browser, I now see only half the folders from i.e. and also not the loose individual sites. How do I get My Personal Folder Favorites into FF's Bookmarks for easy use??
thats the default name of the folder where i keep all my saved bookmarks. i sorted everything so that it sorts alphabetically (when i go through the steps inside "show all bookmarks") but when i check it in my browser, it doesnt sort.
Suddenly, whenever I copy anything in Word 07, the copied text is bracketed with square brackets. They are gray color, and they are not reflected in the clipboard contents, so I believe they are non-printing characters.I have never had this happen before, and can't figure out what is going on.This occurs when using the mouse or CTRL-c to copy. It shows in Print, outline, and Web views.
I got the transfer key from the old computer and entered it into the new computer to start the transfer over the network. The transfer started and it says it will take over a day to completer.I was expecting somewhere along the line to be able to select which files and settings to transfer. I never saw anything like that.
I updated firefox to the newest version (11.0) and it asked me to import bookmarks from Internet Explorer, but I only used internet explorer once (to install firefox when I first got my computer, the only thing IE is good for) and I dont have any bookmarks in IE anyway. So when firefox started all my previous bookmarks got deleted. I can not remember the majority of the websites addresses and I need some of them for research papers and school work. Is there any way to recover the bookmarks or am I screwed?
I had to do a system restore to a prior point (two days ago) to fix a problem on a windows 7 dell PC. It worked but it moved all of my files and user profile to my C drive. I no longer see my user account when I go to start computer. I did find my files (at least some of them) under the c drive in C/OS/Users. Is there a way to automatically get them all back where they orginally were rather than attempt to manually move them and hope I'm placing them in the correct area? I also seem to have lost all of my bookmarks and cannot recover them on Firefox - is there any way to get them back?
