Somewhere along the line my money 2004 upgraded to 2006 and now I have a new computer. Installed 2004 software and trying to backup with a 2006 restored file. Go through all the steps and get "restoration stopped you will get error message shortly and never do.
Microsoft stopped making new versions of Microsoft Money, their personal money management software package and now they've made it available for everybody for free well, sorta. The new Sunset versions were created so that existing customers could continue to install MS Money without requiring activation, but that also means anybody can download and install it.From their page: The Microsoft Money Plus Sunset versions are replacements for expired versions of Microsoft Money Essentials, Deluxe, Premium, and Home and Business. They allow existing customers to use Money Plus to continue accessing their data. Changes to the new versions include file conversions from older versions of Money, no required activation, no online services and no assisted support.
I uninstalled it previously because the icons were missing. So trying to reinstall it I keep getting a rather unspecific error just saying "an error has occurred". screen shot : http://i55.tinypic.com/vwzypj.png, I really need this to do homework n stuff.

I have a HP Pavilion dm4-1150ca Entertainment Notebook PC and I see an exclamation point on my device ... it says I need to reinstall microsoft teredo tunneling driver ... I have tried going onto the HP help manager and it tells me that all my drivers are up-to-date.
I had to wipe my hard Drive and reinstall windows. In the process, i lost Microsoft Office Professional Academic. Now, I'd really like to not have to pay another 80 bucks for it, so how can i re download and reinstall it using my Product key? I bought the download version and I didn't get a backup disk
If i enter the key here... [URL] it says that the key does not represent a product which is available for a free download. Have i just been screwed over by Microsoft?
I recently upgraded my OS in order to solve registry issues retaining to the corrupted windows installer. When I try to enable the Microsoft SE, it would not work. I went into the control panel (Add/remove programs) and removed it. So when i try to reinstall Microsoft SE, I am getting weird error (0x8004ff82). I am not too familiar with the regedit, but I think the problem is a registry file.... I have already tried MicrosoftFixit, and it did not work.
I have an almost-1-year old Toshiba laptop that came with Home Premium 64-bit. I also have a desktop that I built myself that is running Ultimate 64-bit. The Toshiba didn't come with a restore CD, however I know that Windows 7 Install DVDs really come with all versions. I'd like to install a clean copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop since I have a bunch of crap on there and would rather not spend hours cleaning a laptop that should primarily be used for schoolwork.
If I copy down the OEM key that's on the system and then use Ultimate DVD to install Home Premium (this I know how to do), making sure to switch the channel to OEM, will the system activate?
I've got Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux on different partitions, so if I were to recover windows 7 by the Advanced Recovery Method restoring to factory condition, would this action delete/affect my precious Ubuntu in any way? Is the restoring applying to that partition or the whole computer?
I used to have Windows 7 which works flawlessly... I used to have linux Mint 11 dual booting with Windows 7, I recently upgraded to Linux Mint 12 and from that upgrade I cannot see the windows 7 option in the boot menu.. I tried to reinstall the boot loader of windows 7 from the Windows 7 CD but when I press "Repair Your Computer" then it does not show any operating system existing on my computer... install the boot menu in the MBR again.
I am now thinking of an Ivy Bridge based computer and have come across the i3-3240 @ 3.4GHz.is it worth the extra 20.00 or should i just get the 2120 @ 3.3GHzI am asking if it is a noticeable improvement over the 2120?
I created an image using the Microsoft Backup and Restore tool in Windows 7. I saved the image on a network shared folder.I then went to the Advanced Recovery Methods in Windows to restore my image...that I just created. It restarts the computer and goes into recovery mode, I point to where the image is located, I entered the network credentials and it give me an error. "The Specified network resource or device is no longer available. (0x80070037)"
System Restore will not create a restore point or restore to a previous date & time. The error message was: A restore point could not be created: An error was detected in the Volume Shadow Copy Server (VSS).The problem occurred while trying to contact VSS writers. Verify that the Event System Sevice and the VSS service are running & check for associated errors in the event logs (0x80042318).Volume Shadow Copy is started & running (done in system events).Event System Sevice and the VSS service are started and running. But no cigar, SR still broken.

I am taking an online college course. When answering questions we were advised to first type our answers into micrsoft word and then copy and paste into the website. The school website only has basic spell check that is the reason for copy and pasting.I have Word 2010 and Windows 7.
I wouldn't go so far to say, I'm totally computer illiterate, but not far from it.. If there's anyone out there, who's up for a challenge I'm running windows 7. I am the administrator. Someone I don't trust at all, used my PC a while back. After he (did whatever he did) I noticed I couldn't access several files. I get a "access denied" or you don't have permission to view this file, owner info etc.. I can see a lot of the files, but their either empty now or I can't view them. I have used restore many times in the past, but now I get a message " no restore points".. I don't know what he did, or if he did anything.. It could be one of my kids changed properties by mistake, before I wised up and created a basic user acct w/ limited access for them.. I almost forgot. When I go into file properties there is a red x by my user name (administrator) Not in every property, but several.. Sometimes there is a red x by other user names, as well, but mostly mine.
I recently installed some updates in my Proline notebook, but after installing the 30 percent, it failed to restart, with the screen showing nothing (as if it's off). I then tried to restore it to an earlier time via safe mode but the restore point available is only the one as at the time of the update. I tried to create a restore point, but when i tried, i cannot even find system protection when i looked for it and it directs me to system properties where my computer's description is blank and it cannot be edited.Even the updates cannot be uninstalled via safe mode.Is there no other options i can try in order to start my laptop normally again?
So I cleaned my registry using RegSeaker and now my computer BSODs at the 'starting windows' screen, even if I try to start in safe mode. I created a backup of my old registry before cleaning and I can access it using the command prompt that you can access in the system restore options. However, when I try to update the registry with it I get an error message saying 'cannot import.
OK, so a couple of days ago, my HP desktop crashed and then went through the whole System Recovery loop(I couldn't login to Safe mode, wouldn't let me past the System Recovery Screen). Well I backed up the entire C drive using Backup your files in the menu. Then it shows you all the file types it will back up; i.e photos, videos, e-mails and bookmarks. So I did that to an external hard drive and it comes out to 143GB.Now comes my problem. I've been able to copy everything from the external hard drive using RecoveryMgr.exe which opens the WIM files and saves them to my C: hard drive under System Recovery Files. However it does not seem to work when it comes to putting in my old Thunderbird e-mails, contacts and such or in Firefox to restore my bookmarks, saved passwords.
I am trying to restore my computer because it launches into system recovery. After I get to the recovery options I tried to do system restore but it tells me there isn't enough space on the disk.
I have tried a lot of things and I can't get system restore to work. I don't need to use it but I would like my computer to be working since there is no reason for this not to work. I just keep getting ComPlusStaging failed to obtain original copy from %systemroot%/registration all the time.
I have been have some problems with my HP dv 8500 laptop. It has vista on it. I could not get any windows updates. So I backed up my files to a flashdrive and did a system recovery. I have files on the flash drive but cannot transfer them back to the laptop. I would love it if someone could guide me through the process.
