Geforce Fx 5200 Doesn't Support Aero
Aug 4, 2009i installed and active my ultimate windows x86, but it says your graphic card doesn't support aero, so what should i do? is it possible to solve it with getting new driver version?

Video Card Driver Doesn't Support Aero Effects
May 1, 2011I just recently upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home premium. When I "upgraded" though I chose to completly reinstall my OS.Anyways I used to have transparency, but when I try to get that same effect it says "The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver."and then when I try to troubleshoot it says "Video card driver doesn't support Aero effects" . I've tried the "Fix it" options, but that doesnt work. I just don't see how transperancy would work on vista but not with windows 7... do I seriously have to purchase a new video card?

Oct 15, 2009I have an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Video card with 256 MB of RAM.
The card seems to work quite well with Windows 7, except that the highest resolution I can get with the present driver is 1280 x 1024, but this naturally stretches the screen. I can set it to a nice 1280 x 800 which looks pretty good on my 19" monitor.
However, I would like to get a resolution of 1440 x 900 for my 19" monitor but this options is not available. Do I perhaps have the wrong driver? I am presently using the one I downloaded with Windows 7 in the Device Manager. The driver version is 9.6.8.5 and is dated 10/9/2006.

Will windows perhaps be updating this driver for this card? Is there something I am not getting here?
Also, I do not know if this card is going to get more support from Windows.
Supposedly this driver will work for windows 7 but I have been unable to successfully install it.

Oct 24, 2009I bought the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade and was running the Windows upgrade Advisor. It says your current graphics adapter wont support Windows Aero user interface. If you want to experience the benefits of Aero contact your PC Manufacturer or retailer to see if Upgrade is available.
I've attached the graphics properties as a image.
What should i do here ? I understand just 128 MB is more than enough for Aero. I dont why im getting this problem ?
Should i go ahead and clean install Windows 7 and is there is updated driver for this ?
Graphics Card Does Not Support Aero
May 8, 2012I built myself a new PC and everything was running fine. Then I decided to change the graphics card from an ASUS Radeon HD 6770 to an ASUS Radeon HD6850 1GB.Upon restart and every restart since, the Aero effects do not work. At first I just figured I hadnt got the right drivers. Games were working fine so I left it alone. Now I've updated all the drivers to the latest ones from the ATI website, 12.4, but the Aero effects still do not work.

Currently I'm trying to upgrade the system with Win Xp Home. It has a Gigabyte AMD AM2 Socket (GA-M57 SLI-S4) motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+, 4 GB of ram and a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS sound-card.
I ran the windows 7 upgrade adviser on the computer and then someone suggest I also run the vista upgrade adviser as well. On both it is telling me that there is a problem with "Windows Aero Support". I've seen lots of posts stating it will run on their video card but I have not seen anything on mine and need to know if I can upgrade to Win 7 Home Premium without a problem. My video card is a NVidia Geforce 7900 GTX. Does anyone know if that card will work with Win 7?
Then also it is telling me that my D-Link DWA-130 Wireless USB adapter is a problem. I went to their website and they have Vista drivers but not Win 7. Someone suggested not downloading the D-Link drivers but downloading the vista drivers and that it would work. I have little knowledge regarding Win 7 and therefore didn't know if this was good advice or bad advice on downloading the vista drivers. Is anyone here using this wireless adapter successfully with Win 7?
Last it mentions that it is not compatible with the Creative Game Port. I don't know if this is something that is downloaded with my Gigaabyte motherboard recovery disc. I don't think it was something I installed but not sure. AS far as I know it is not something I'm using so it doesn't matter if it isn't compatible (at least I think it's not). I didn't know if anyone knew about this.
I'm hoping anyone that has experience with any of this hardware will let me know if it is compatible with Win 7 before I upgrade it only to find it is compatible to upgrade.

Oct 26, 2012A few days ago I noticed that my PC is slow unlike before. I can not run any games, I can not access NVidia Control Panel and when I check "Display" on dxdiag it does not show the device information. I went to device manager trying to disable/enable the graphic card but it told that the graphic card is turned on but that there are issues because of which the graphic card is not working properly. I tried uninstalling drivers with driver sweep and through device manager. BIOS happen to be alright and also I checked if it's plugged in correctly several times and it is. I really don't know what caused this or when.When I right click on desktop and go to Properties>Settings, there's usually graphic specs written above the resolution bar but now it doesn't show any. It happens to be that my graphic card is unable to use any resources.

Oct 24, 2009I have had Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit RTM installed for a couple of months now, but there is one issue that I have not been able to solve for this whole time.
When I first went to install Windows 7, I had to remove a 2GB stick of RAM in order for the installer to even start without blue screen-ing on me.
So I took the RAM out and managed to get 7 installed (yay!). However, when I tried to reinsert the RAM, I got the same BSOD that I would when trying to install 7 with the other 2GB in. I gave up after a couple of tries, and it has taken me this long to try to solve the issue.
I am pretty sure that my specs are 7 Ultimate x64 compatible? Because if not, that is most probably the source of the error.
Otherwise, could anyone lend a hand? It really hurts having 2GB of RAM lying around in a drawer being useless.

Feb 1, 2011I have an HP AIO touchscreen computer that comes preloaded with win7 pro and works fine. It also has a vga in, so i can plug it in as a secondary monitor on my other computer, but touchscreen doesnt work when i do. I called HP and asked for the touchscreen driver (some touchscreens have special drivers), but they had no clue of anything like that. I thought WiN7 was supposed to come preloaded with it, but if i look for "tablet" settings in my computer, its just not there, even though i see it on my AIO. I dont get it, where is the driver for touch? And will touchscreen still work plugged in as a VGA?

the wddm1.0 driver that DOES work with this card is the last forceware release that included the FX series, wich is the 96.85 release.

Oct 18, 2009I am currently looking a way to enable Aero in my machine. (as note, currently I am missing the Aero Glass, Aero Peek, and Aero Flip.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 on the machine. Because my screen is WideScreen, at first the graphics are all large and mushy. But at this point I HAVE AERO!
Then, I installed the driver for the gfx card, which was SIS UniVGA3 v.3.85. After installing and restarting, I get the normal resolution (1280x800) but NO AERO.
I thought this was driver problem, so I downloaded UniVGA5 v5.07, UniVGA5 v5.20 (which is the driver for Windows7, according to the site), and the SiS driver update from Windows Update, all of which didn't enable Aero for me.
I am completely stumped on this. I just don't get why the heck I get Aero WITHOUT driver, but no Aero with drivers.
Can't Install Windows 7, "Computer's Hardware Doesn't Support Booting"
Feb 2, 2012I entered the CD and then it automatically booted, and then it went through the usual setup routine and the problem started when it reached the part where I'm supposed to choose where to install Windows.I formatted Local Disk "C" and then chose it to install there, it then said: This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.I then shut down the PC and then re-booted it, it read the CD and then went to "Windows is loading files" then skipped the installation and went for the normal "Starting Windows"... It's weird because I don't have a "C" so how come it says that without having windows? Anyway, it passes this screen and suddenly it just glows in multi colors until I have to shut it down myself. Trying again gave the same response (Which means I can't access the install screen. All what I have is the BIOS menu)There is no way I can return the CD at the moment, and I lost the previous Windows disk...
