I bought the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade and was running the Windows upgrade Advisor. It says your current graphics adapter wont support Windows Aero user interface. If you want to experience the benefits of Aero contact your PC Manufacturer or retailer to see if Upgrade is available.
I've attached the graphics properties as a image.
What should i do here ? I understand just 128 MB is more than enough for Aero. I dont why im getting this problem ?
Should i go ahead and clean install Windows 7 and is there is updated driver for this ?
I built myself a new PC and everything was running fine. Then I decided to change the graphics card from an ASUS Radeon HD 6770 to an ASUS Radeon HD6850 1GB.Upon restart and every restart since, the Aero effects do not work. At first I just figured I hadnt got the right drivers. Games were working fine so I left it alone. Now I've updated all the drivers to the latest ones from the ATI website, 12.4, but the Aero effects still do not work.

I also having 2 error more of RAM & Hard Disk requirement such error I can able to solve by buying 1Gb RAM & 160 GB Hard Disk. But...
I just wanted to know how can my computer is able get windows aero support.
As i am not aware of using which type of graphics cards is supporting aero.
i installed and active my ultimate windows x86, but it says your graphic card doesn't support aero, so what should i do? is it possible to solve it with getting new driver version?
I am considering upgrading to Windows 7. My current system is Pentium D @3 GHZ w/2 GB ram. Win 7 upgrade advisor tells me my NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE will not support Aero. Any advice on what graphics card would be a good upgrade would be appreciated.
I have two computers that are running Win XP Home and one that is running Win Xp Media Center Edition. Will I have any problems upgrading the Win Xp Media Center Edition?
Currently I'm trying to upgrade the system with Win Xp Home. It has a Gigabyte AMD AM2 Socket (GA-M57 SLI-S4) motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+, 4 GB of ram and a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS sound-card.
I ran the windows 7 upgrade adviser on the computer and then someone suggest I also run the vista upgrade adviser as well. On both it is telling me that there is a problem with "Windows Aero Support". I've seen lots of posts stating it will run on their video card but I have not seen anything on mine and need to know if I can upgrade to Win 7 Home Premium without a problem. My video card is a NVidia Geforce 7900 GTX. Does anyone know if that card will work with Win 7?
Then also it is telling me that my D-Link DWA-130 Wireless USB adapter is a problem. I went to their website and they have Vista drivers but not Win 7. Someone suggested not downloading the D-Link drivers but downloading the vista drivers and that it would work. I have little knowledge regarding Win 7 and therefore didn't know if this was good advice or bad advice on downloading the vista drivers. Is anyone here using this wireless adapter successfully with Win 7?
Last it mentions that it is not compatible with the Creative Game Port. I don't know if this is something that is downloaded with my Gigaabyte motherboard recovery disc. I don't think it was something I installed but not sure. AS far as I know it is not something I'm using so it doesn't matter if it isn't compatible (at least I think it's not). I didn't know if anyone knew about this.
I'm hoping anyone that has experience with any of this hardware will let me know if it is compatible with Win 7 before I upgrade it only to find it is compatible to upgrade.
I just recently upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home premium. When I "upgraded" though I chose to completly reinstall my OS.Anyways I used to have transparency, but when I try to get that same effect it says "The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver."and then when I try to troubleshoot it says "Video card driver doesn't support Aero effects" . I've tried the "Fix it" options, but that doesnt work. I just don't see how transperancy would work on vista but not with windows 7... do I seriously have to purchase a new video card?
I am currently looking a way to enable Aero in my machine. (as note, currently I am missing the Aero Glass, Aero Peek, and Aero Flip.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 on the machine. Because my screen is WideScreen, at first the graphics are all large and mushy. But at this point I HAVE AERO!
Then, I installed the driver for the gfx card, which was SIS UniVGA3 v.3.85. After installing and restarting, I get the normal resolution (1280x800) but NO AERO.
I thought this was driver problem, so I downloaded UniVGA5 v5.07, UniVGA5 v5.20 (which is the driver for Windows7, according to the site), and the SiS driver update from Windows Update, all of which didn't enable Aero for me.
I am completely stumped on this. I just don't get why the heck I get Aero WITHOUT driver, but no Aero with drivers.
When trying to install W7 in 64-bit form I get the error message "The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
this is new purchased notebook and i can't install the windows 7 anywehere in the driver
I'm new to Windows 7 and currently am running 7 Pro on my PC although there are a lot of things that I do like about 7 there are a lot I don't. I tried to customize my PC with a paid version of WindowBlinds. It is a 7 theme and compatible but it still has some of the Aero items still attached (light blue shading on bars, highlights and the like).
How much resources does aero take? will my dual set up be enough?. i am planning to get a AMD Athlon II X2 240 CPU with a MB that has a 780G chipset which has ATI HD 3200 integrated graphics, will it be able to handle aero?
I have Win7 and FF15. Until recently Aero Peek worked fine but not any more. It doesn't work at all though it is enabled and I'm using an Aero desktop background.
Aero is disabled. Cannot start it up. Desktop Windows Manager is enabled in services but when I run Aero trouble shooting utility it say's Desktop Manager is "Disabled". Tried disabling then restarting but still the same.
i booted up my comp and Aero wasnt enabled. I reinstalled my graphics drivers, it came back on. However, whenever I restart my comp, Aero disables again. so , if I reinstall my graphics drivers every time i boot there wouldn't be an issue, but thats a bit annoying. So I ran the windows diagnostic tool for aero and it told me that my desktop window manager was disabled. So I ran services.msc and found the desktop window manager in the list, only it said that hte desktop window manager was in face running and operational. [code]
I'm looking for something like this to occur. Instead of having just two screens side by side in Windows 7, it'd be awesome to have more or to customize the screen sizes and shapes as well.
This morning I've received a message in my taskbar that says there are new updates for my windows live beta. After restarting the computer to apply the updates, I lost the Aero look.
I am puzzled as to why my aero peek display (is this the little mini pictures of the open windows?) has diappeared when I hover my mouse over the taskbar. All I have now is the title of the page, rather than a miniature of what's open. I did have to update display drivers a couple of days ago after having some nasty display problems that led to BSOD. Could that have caused it? When I go to Task Bar -Properties I can't check "Use Aero Peek to preview desktop"
I have an Acer Aspire One AOA150Bb running 7 Ultimate X86 and up until last week i think everything was running as normal but now when i drag my program windows it comes up with a black box outline as it does in the Basic theme why is this is there a quick fix to it or will i have to live with it or reinstall.
I ran the upgrade advisor and it said for my video card that I had to upgrade the video card. Any chance that by disabling windows aero i can skip having to upgrade my card?
The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor says my video card won't support Aero.
It's an Asus GF8400GS with 256Mb. (EN8400GSSILENTHTP512M)
Both the Nvidia site and Windows 7 Compatibility Center say it is compatible with Windows 7. Does this mean it will support Aero or not?
The Aero page http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-the-Aero-desktop-experience
just says it needs to support DirectX v9, and Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel - that doesn't sound too difficult?
I just upgraded from vista 32bit to windows 7 64bit. Everything works fine except I can't get Aero to work. When i clicked on the troubleshoot the error message read
"Video card doesn't support aero effects"
Where can i find the proper driver and how do i install it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are my system specs straight from DxDiag. I know i have an NVIDIA but im not sure how to figure out exactly whcih kind.
