Aero is disabled. Cannot start it up. Desktop Windows Manager is enabled in services but when I run Aero trouble shooting utility it say's Desktop Manager is "Disabled". Tried disabling then restarting but still the same.
Yesterday after doing a malware scan I restarted my computer when I turned it back on my tast bar was old so I checked the themes and windows aero themes have been disabled it also won't let me connect to any networks as it doesn't show any.It won't let me access the network adapter settings but they are definitely enable.
7 x64 goes in/out of Sleep Mode successfully, but Aero Peek's visual effects disable approx. 2 sec. after the system wakes. If I log out/on the effects are still disabled; I have to reboot to establish.

* I also have issue with right-clicking and Explorer crashing, however mine only occurs when I right-click on the Recycle Bin, and only after my computer has been running for awhile and I am recycling multiple files.
So, I got home tonight after work, was going to play some Diablo 3, than noticed my laptop would not connect to the internet. I am currently using an ethernet cable... The Wifi light is off on my laptop... I use the key on the keyboard to try and enable it, with no success. I try to manual enable it, through network and sharing, and no dice.
I am thinking of setting this service to manual, as this is a home machine. It does, however, have a wireless network running to which I've attached 4 devices (two laptops, a printer and an Xbox - but that's wired to the router).Supports file, print, and named-pipe sharing over the network for this computer. If this service is stopped, these functions will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start. 99% of me is sure that the above statement applies to a workstation in a production environment but I wanted to make sure and bounce it off a few of you folks.
My windows 7 has DCOM Service Disabled - Windows wont start in any mode!Ive tried Safemode, safemode command prompt etc and I just get a black screenI can access CMD.exe using repair mode from the installation disk but not sure how to change services control manager settings from the command line. The systemroot is on D:Iv thought of some routes like, changing the registry or perhaps a batch file running on start up but not sure of how or where to place and enter into startup at the right time.
I am currently looking a way to enable Aero in my machine. (as note, currently I am missing the Aero Glass, Aero Peek, and Aero Flip.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 on the machine. Because my screen is WideScreen, at first the graphics are all large and mushy. But at this point I HAVE AERO!
Then, I installed the driver for the gfx card, which was SIS UniVGA3 v.3.85. After installing and restarting, I get the normal resolution (1280x800) but NO AERO.
I thought this was driver problem, so I downloaded UniVGA5 v5.07, UniVGA5 v5.20 (which is the driver for Windows7, according to the site), and the SiS driver update from Windows Update, all of which didn't enable Aero for me.
I am completely stumped on this. I just don't get why the heck I get Aero WITHOUT driver, but no Aero with drivers.
I Windows 7 Home Premium. My windows is getting the updates but when it says configuring windows it doesn't do it and says it failure to config and is reverting back.I also cannot turn on Windows Security Center.I appears something happened 8/15. I tried microsoft's fixes and system restore which hasn't fixed the problems.[CODE]
After having re-set my Internet settings (as part of trying to resolve an issue with not being able to load pictures on Facebook), now a message comes up every time I open a new tab in IE9, saying 'Add-ons currently disabled'.
Everytime I open my computer, it is always installing devices. I usually have problem in installing my sound(sometimes my computer detects it as realtek sometimes its high definition audio device) and LAN(realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC #366). Usually repairing my sound device works. (about 70%) How can I solve it permanently? My computer says my LAN is not working but I can still access the internet. What seems to be the problem?
When I go to my computer it has a 'BD-ROM Drive' but my DVD-ROM/CD-ROM drive does not appear. I tried putting a CD but nothing happens.
Under device manager I have a CD-ROM drive enabled but below that is 'PBDS DVD+-RW DS-8W1P ATA Device which when I click says this device is disabled (Code 22). I try to click 'enable device' but when I go through the troubleshooting wizard is says windows cannot enable the device.
Can anybody help me? I just want to upgrade my Windows 7 Beta 7022 to 7048 but can't do it without my CD-Rom drive.
I want to get his fixed but if I cant would I be able to upgrade Windows 7 from Vista (I'm running a dual-boot) or will that write over my Vista partition?
I'm new to Windows 7 and currently am running 7 Pro on my PC although there are a lot of things that I do like about 7 there are a lot I don't. I tried to customize my PC with a paid version of WindowBlinds. It is a 7 theme and compatible but it still has some of the Aero items still attached (light blue shading on bars, highlights and the like).
How much resources does aero take? will my dual set up be enough?. i am planning to get a AMD Athlon II X2 240 CPU with a MB that has a 780G chipset which has ATI HD 3200 integrated graphics, will it be able to handle aero?
I'm having windows 7 home basic 64bit laptop...I don't know how but my laptop's paste option has disabled it's not working. I want to fix my problem as early as possible
I have a program (written by a community member for this game) that hooks into the game itself, and grabs the onscreen text. Now, the program itself works, but only when UAC is disabled. I can run it as administrator, and approve the changes it makes to the computer, however it still won't work unless the UAC is disabled.Do any of you guys know what the problem is? When UAC is off, the program does not need administrator priviledges. When the UAC's on, when the program starts up it the UAC makes its appearance and asks if you'd like to allow this program to make changes, and i always click "yes." So I don't understand why, even though i allow it to make changes, it still can't do those changes. My friend, the one who showed me it, runs XP and has no problem with it. if you want the link for it, if you need it, i can get you it. It's pretty simple really, just the program and a .DLL file that goes with it.
yesterday i turned off computer and everything was working perfectly. today i turned it on and i cant login to my user account and theres only 1 user (me). my password has 2 @@'s and the ctrl and alt were disabled i think because i also tried using the onscreen keyboard and cant make the symbols either. my keyboard is portuguese and uses alt + ctrl+2 to make these symbols. I CANT LOGIN TO MY COMPUTER! (not this 1).
Remember i already tried the Onscreen keyboard! ctrl and alt doesnt work either
After disbling the UAC the coputer lost network connection. We noticed that the connection was completely missing form the Adapter Settings screen. We also noticed that most of the services are disabled and the ability to enable them is grayed out. We re enabled UAC but no help. This computer previously had the alureo-k root virus. It was working fine for 2 days until we triggered this.
I have recently upgraded from windows vista to windows 7in vista, I had Kaspesky Internet Security 2011 working properlyAfetr installing windows 7, I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, (since i didn't have te initial CD of KIS 2011)After few days, I realised that Kaspersky is disabled, and when i click enable in maintenance center, nothing happensI tried to uninstall Kaspersky, but the installation could not end properly,I even tried system restore, but the systemm detected an error, and afetr restoration, the problem remainsSo, I still can't uninstall, or activate Kaspersky.
A few days ago I tried connecting a MBlaze modem to my laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit) to access internet. But it resulted in instant BSOD everytime. I deleted the modem software after that & didn't try to connect it again. But now, whenever I connect using my LAN broadband, connection works fine as long as I am continuously browsing something. But as soon as I stop browsing and it goes in idle mode in about 10-15 minutes, the connection gets disconnected and in the Broadcom Netlink Ethernet properties it shows "No drivers are available for this device". The only solution to this is a forced shutdown & restart, after which it works fine untill not idle. I am not able to download anything because of this. I tried many things like reinstalling the network adapter driver, unchecking the power management feature, resetting the connection, etc. but nothing is working.
I had to reset my comp to factory settings. After doing so whn I boot it up it gives 2 options to log on as, administrator and user. when I click on admin it says "your account has been disabled. please see your system administrator".
Have had this machine over a year, 3 weeks ago, I started getting a random message that my account has been disabled, contact system admin.
Well, that's me! started in safe mode, enabled the administrator account (no password) then tried to login as Administrator....SAME MESSAGE! Rebooted a couple of times, was able to finally login as my user account: GENE (who is an admin as well) Double checked security profile to ensure *something* hadn't set that - nope. I then used the system restore DVD to do a restore anyways...
Things have been fine for about 2 weeks, but then this morning..same thing. Tried to login as user GENE (an admin account) received the message, your account is locked out and to contact system admin.. After enabling Administrator through safe mode command line, I rebooted into Administrator fine. When I go to the Control Panel, user GENE is not there, however the user profile exists AND the files are there under c:usersgene really really weird
System: Windows 7 Pro, SP1, Alienware, Intel i7 12GB ram, 64bit workstation - no domain
So I got a new desktop computer, and a User account was already set up for me. So when I got it I did some software installing, anti virus, malwarebytes, windows updates. Had to do some restarts for the Windows updates and all is still well.hen added a password to my user account, and had some more Windows updates, although some weren't critical ones, just recommended. The pc needed to restart again, so I restart. Now when I turn on my pc, Windows will load and show a screen that says "Your account has been disabled. Please contact your system administrator." I click Ok underneath it and it goes to a log in screen with two options. First is Administrator. It requires a password. It's not the one I set up. The second option is Other User. That one I can click, type in my user account name and password and that works. So I can get into my computer ok. But I would really like to get rid of that Account has been disabled message and make it so only my User account shows up at the log in screen. I thought about trying a system restore to a time before it started happening. Would that get rid of Windows updates, if that is the cause
Recently I have bought window's 7. I have extracted the file from the CD on a different PC. & i have installed it successfully. & now, I have tested out Linux 10.04 which I have dual booted with Window's 7. But when I have dual booted with a program called "Wubi", It has disable my function for f8 to show the grub menu. I have posted this in the ubuntuforums but they told me to come here. So I am asking, How many I reinstall Window's 7 without a CD-rom? & My bios doesn't show my USB in the boot tab. So what do i do? I was thinking of installing through network.
4 days ago we changed the security settings on our home router/network from WPA2- Personal TKIP+AES to just AES. I then changed my Asus UL80vt-A1 wireless adapter settings (Atheros AR9285) to match (from TKIP to AES).This was the ONLY change I made to the system. Then the fun began.
First off a new adapter appeared in my Network connections. It is Wireless Network Connection 2- Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter. Well, that was not there before I made the changes to the security settings. Googling results indicate it is a normal part of Windows 7, it really had never been there before.Restarting the computer the wireless adapter shows as disabled, and I have to run the network diagnostics to re-enable it. It does not matter if I do a shut down or hibernate (my preferred way of shutting down the laptop before going somewhere).
So I thought I should change the security settings back to what I had (TKIP+AES) and set my notebook to TKIP. I also did a Windows Update just in case. I ran a scan with Avast Antivirus, Microsoft Security Essential and Malware Bytes to see if something evil had gotten in, all were clean. Now when I hibernate my laptop it takes 4-5 minutes to shutdown. When I restart it takes 4-5 minutes to restart. I am staring at the intro screen waiting for the logon to appear. Once I get logged in the wifi adapter appears connected, but the computer is acting like it is hung up until all the open programs have finished loading. I can't do anything until the 27 open tabs in Firefox have completely finished being restored. Takes another 3-4 minutes.
