7 x64 goes in/out of Sleep Mode successfully, but Aero Peek's visual effects disable approx. 2 sec. after the system wakes. If I log out/on the effects are still disabled; I have to reboot to establish.

* I also have issue with right-clicking and Explorer crashing, however mine only occurs when I right-click on the Recycle Bin, and only after my computer has been running for awhile and I am recycling multiple files.
When I put my computer in Sleep mode, using the start button / shutdow / sleep it "sleeps" for about 10 minutes and wakes up on its own! Could it be programs trying to run in the background that wakse it up; Carbonite Backup or Norton? I can't get the computer to remain in sleep mode!
I have been getting BSODs after waking my computer up after stand by. I've tried Googling the situation as well as performing basic troubleshooting tasks such as sfc, chkdsk, virus scans... no luck. According to the event viewer, it says :
"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff8800f20044c, 0xfffff8800679e378, 0xfffff8800679dbd0). A dump was saved in: C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 110112-8190-01."
My computer crashes right after it wakes up from sleep mode.I used MSDaRT to diagnose the problem, and obtained a Analysis.log file, but I can't figure out where the problem is.Here is a copy of the contents of the file:
Code: Opened log file 'C:Windowsmsdart_crashanalyzer_kd_ansi.log' Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.11.0001.404 AMD64 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Loading Dump File [C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP] Kernel Summary Dump File: Only kernel address space is available
I get intermittent freezing on waking from sleep mode, and indeed occasionally it wakes up immediately after sleeping.
I looked in the event manager and after 2 separate occasions of it freezing on waking up, it's come up with vwififilt as the culprit. I hope I've uploaded a screengrab correctly.
I can't find anything online which distinguishes why this file is not loading and causing a freeze on waking from sleep mode.
Any ideas on what I can do to remedy this problem? And also why I might be getting this sporadic problem of the system waking immediately after sleeping?
I have been using sleep mode for a while. Until recently, I had to re-install my OS due to some troubleshooting and hardware issues. Now my PC won't wake up from sleep mode with the new install. She goes to sleep, and when I try to wake her up, she powers on, for like 2 seconds and then shuts off. I have to turn on the power switch to get it to boot. My pc is not a generic brand pc. It's a custom built water cooled pc. I haven't noticed any new driver installs. I have performed a clean start up with no insight to what the issue could be. Event viewer only shows what I expected.
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. - Event 41, Kernel Power Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stipped due to the following error: 0xc000000D Event 3, Kernel-Event Tracing
I'm assuming its a driver problem, does BSOD only around every 5 times after I wake it from sleep mode.System Specs:Windows 7Home Premiumx64 bitOEMThe entire system is a little under 2 weeks old.
I recently built an HTPC and it was working OK until last night. Ive been using it mainly as an OTA DVR and it does wake up, record, etc.I went to program a recording & it was already awake & the HDD indicator LED was on. However the HDTV had a black screen with a message to select boot device & press any key. This was not a BSOD but a black screen. There was no way to select anything as every time I pressed a key the same message displayed another time. I finally powered off.Another program was scheduled to record at this time but it should not have. It was a series schedule set for new but this episode was not. Thats one strike against the EPG. Anyway it started recording after I booted back up but it was missing the first 40 minutes because I booted up 40 minutes into the program.
I have the TP-Link USB Wireless adapeter (TL-WN722N) It always reconnects after sleep mode or I have to do it manually and it takes a long time to reconnects all the time?
***DO NOT say to uncheck " Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option! This DOES NOT work for me and it has no effect whatsoever!***
my computer has all of a sudden started to give me a BSOD about a minute after I wake the computer up from Sleep Mode. Also, if I leave the computer for more than 15 minutes I come back and the computer has frozen so I have to manually restart it. Every once in a while I've gotten the BSOD while I'm in the middle of doing something and it's been hours since it was in sleep mode.
So far I've tried to Restore my computer back to before the trouble started, and I've also fully uninstalled my video drivers (ATI Radeon HD 5470), and then installed the newest version from ATI's website.
My computer is Windows 7 64-bit, OEM version from Acer.
I had a problem about ipv6 on windows 7 for a long time. I have a ipv6 & ipv4 dual stack network. Every time I wake up my computer, the ipv6 cannot work. The appearance is that I can't ping and access ipv6 website. But after some research, I realize that only the DNS part is broken. When I ping the ipv6 site like ipv6.google.com, it tells me it find no host, but if I use nslookup, I can find the ipv6 address. And the following are my tries:
ping ipv6.google.com -- not work ping 2a00:1450:8001::68 -- does work, the ip is the ipv6.google.com address ping -6 ipv6.google.com -- does work like the above
When I try to wake my machine from S3 sleep mode I see the hard drive lights power up but nothing happens, I get a black screen for about 5-6 seconds then my machine proceeds to boot loop itself until i manual shut it down with the power button. Sometimes it will start up regularly with no problems, and about 60-70% of the other times it will do the problem i have explained above.
Over the past few months I began having this recurring problem where the computer goes into sleep mode, next I click the mouse to wake it and the lights and fans go on but the screen stays black. I then have to perform a hard restart where I was usually getting the "start in safe mode" screen, but lately I have also been getting BSODs.
I have Win7 and FF15. Until recently Aero Peek worked fine but not any more. It doesn't work at all though it is enabled and I'm using an Aero desktop background.
I am puzzled as to why my aero peek display (is this the little mini pictures of the open windows?) has diappeared when I hover my mouse over the taskbar. All I have now is the title of the page, rather than a miniature of what's open. I did have to update display drivers a couple of days ago after having some nasty display problems that led to BSOD. Could that have caused it? When I go to Task Bar -Properties I can't check "Use Aero Peek to preview desktop"
I upgraded from Vista to Win 7 Pro, everything was working fine until a few days ago. The Aero Peek flashes for a second then goes away. Also the screen saver doesn't kick in or sleep or hibernate. I did a repair install and then a complete install also uninstalled the video card driver and and put it back on, but still nothing. I did notice when I have the device manager screen open that peek will work with everything that is open. The only thing that was changed to the laptop is that I hooked it up to a TV through the VGA. Also I deleted the old files from Vista that were stored in C:windowsold. Haven't touched the register.
Anything that I hoover over that should show a display of some sort (such as picture, that will show the date taken, and size) it will only show for a second then disappear.
Also did a sfcscannow which showed no problems.

If I am using a program and I move my mouse over to the taskbar and mouse over another program I have running the preview is displayed only briefly (on the order of milliseconds). If I click the taskbar first, then hover over an icon the preview is displayed correctly and if I mouse over the preview the window is brought to the front. However, if I click the preview the program is only sporadically brought to the front.I also noticed that Alt-Tab is not working correctly either. When I hit alt-tab the selection menu is again only flashed on screen even while holding Alt.Restarting computer doesn't fix it.Already ran the troubleshooter and no problems were found.Did a system restore to before the problems were there but that did not solve the issue either.Checked performance settings and everything is enabled.Like I said earlier I can't think of anything that was changed between the time when it was working and the time that it was not. I literally got up from my computer, sat down in another chair in my office, read a book for a couple hours, came back and it did not work.
I have installed Win7 Ult Ed into my latpop but I noticed that when for example i download a number of files, and hover my mouse over it to preview it, it actually does not show the progress of my download in real time, this only happens when i actually click on the thumb nail iteself where I can fully see it. I am running a 32 -bit machine with 4gb ram, why it does not show things in real time? The same thing happens when I play music in Windows Media Player.
I have a peculiar problem with aero peek. It sometimes just decides not to work anymore, and only shows labels instead of a preview. This is only temporary, because when I switch between other windows, the aero peek is activated again. I actually reproduced this behavior by switching to this post, and writing for 1-2 minutes. Hovering now only produced labels/tooltips. By switching to another window, aero was "activated" again.
First af all, hi all, i'm new to the forum. I found it out couse i'm using windows 7 right now (well, i haven't any particular file on my desktop so nothing to loose) and i'm searching a few things to improve my (till now really good) experience with this os.
Now the little problem: i'm searching for a keyboard shortcut to switch through windows with aero peek (x-ray vision) just like i do with flip3d, is that possible?
The only thing i found near to what i'm searching is the shortcut to switch through active elements that is like moving the mouse over icons of pinned-apps, that is not the same.
Aero peek has many useful features but, compared to my standard work, it takes me too long to move mouse on an icon, wait for preview to show, than move again mouse on previews of different windows of the same app.
I just installed Windows 7 a week ago and today a very weird thing happens - Aero Peek doesn't work all the time. One thing I noticed is that when it does not work the taskbar icons seem like stuck in selected mode. What I mean is when you go over them they change their color - e.g. like they are selected. But when you go away they become transparent once again - well when Aero Peek stops working mine don't go to transparent.
I've attached an image. The bar on the left is how all bars should look like when they are not hoped over, yet as you can see the right bar has its "selected" color stuck. After I make a few "show desktop" switches, and then switch between windows - it somehow gets fixed. Totally random. I've tried closing programs, did the troubleshooter (said it's all OK), went into settings... basically everything I managed to find and thought of - I tried and nothing worked. All other functions of Aero work.
i have a problem with my "aero peek show desktop" at the right side of the task bar. it is double size, i read in a few forums about this case with installing tablets. i installed my wacom tablet a few days ago,so i suppose its because of this.
So here is my issue: my aero peek thumbnails don't stay up, as I move my mouse over the active icon, it shows and then disappears. It flickers as my mouse moves across the icon. But when I click the explorer bar itself and then mouse over my active icon, it *will* show. I've tried to research it myself, updating my 9800gtx+ driver, running aero peek repair, and even windows Repair Install. It must be a registry thing, because I've done everything else.
Aero is disabled. Cannot start it up. Desktop Windows Manager is enabled in services but when I run Aero trouble shooting utility it say's Desktop Manager is "Disabled". Tried disabling then restarting but still the same.
I only learnt about this a couple of weeks ago!If you want to make the Aero Peek button at the far right of your Taskbar into a plain and simple Show Desktop button:Simply right-click the Aero Peek button and un-check the "Peek at desktop" option. Et Voila!! That's it!
Yesterday after doing a malware scan I restarted my computer when I turned it back on my tast bar was old so I checked the themes and windows aero themes have been disabled it also won't let me connect to any networks as it doesn't show any.It won't let me access the network adapter settings but they are definitely enable.
