Aero Affects And Transparency Doesn't Work
Sep 8, 2011I have a PC with a ATI graphics card ( ATI Radeon Xpress 200 ) in windows 7..And i noticed that the aero affects and transparency doesn't work..troubleshooting shows that the if the driver was compatible with WDDM it could work...can any one help me get that driver The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver.

Aug 29, 2009Ok well i just upgraded to windows 7 and i have 1.5gb of ram. I play 3 online games. ( 1. gunbound 2. combat arms 3. rakion )
When i play gunbound everything is fine, no lag at all because its kinda a kiddie 3d game.
but when i play combat arms and rakion i lag REALLY BADLY!
i just ordered a 1gb stick of ram and web pages and applications work great.
so i want to know what graphics card i need. ( i also need to know witch one will fit my pc and will work with windows 7 transparency mode, or aero? is it called, im not sure. )
Please send me links to graphics cards for 50$ or less because that's all i have right now =/

Oct 18, 2009I am currently looking a way to enable Aero in my machine. (as note, currently I am missing the Aero Glass, Aero Peek, and Aero Flip.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 on the machine. Because my screen is WideScreen, at first the graphics are all large and mushy. But at this point I HAVE AERO!
Then, I installed the driver for the gfx card, which was SIS UniVGA3 v.3.85. After installing and restarting, I get the normal resolution (1280x800) but NO AERO.
I thought this was driver problem, so I downloaded UniVGA5 v5.07, UniVGA5 v5.20 (which is the driver for Windows7, according to the site), and the SiS driver update from Windows Update, all of which didn't enable Aero for me.
I am completely stumped on this. I just don't get why the heck I get Aero WITHOUT driver, but no Aero with drivers.
Enable Transparency Box Is Gone?
Feb 19, 2012how to tweak and disabled transparency, now, my task bar it white and everything looks old. The main thing is when I go to personaization, there is no option to enable transparancy and aero themes are greyed out. I followed some advice on microsoft sites, did some enabling services and registry things, but it is still not there. I cannot even restore to an earlier time because it says a restore piint hasn't been set. I actually JUST upgraded to professional right before I did this.

Apr 12, 2011I'm using clearscreen's theme file but not the explorer.exe that came with it, instead i'm using glow air final's explorer.exe, because it gives better looking start button. Everything would be ok if the taskbar would be more transparent. Even thought the transparency is set to max in the window color settings, the taskbar is not that transparent. I think it's because of the theme file. My question is - how to edit the theme file so the taskbar is more transparent?

May 11, 2009I have recently downloaded the Windows 7 RC, mainly for the areo visuals etc.
BUT i cannot seem to enable them.
I have tried all the hacks out there on the Internet and cannot seem to get it to work.
I have also updated my driver etc.
My question is, with my current hardware, is there anyway to get aero to work?
I have previously had vista and i got aero to work somehow, but i cant remember.

Both the Nvidia site and Windows 7 Compatibility Center say it is compatible with Windows 7. Does this mean it will support Aero or not?

Nov 8, 2009I just upgraded from vista 32bit to windows 7 64bit. Everything works fine except I can't get Aero to work. When i clicked on the troubleshoot the error message read
"Video card doesn't support aero effects"
Where can i find the proper driver and how do i install it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are my system specs straight from DxDiag. I know i have an NVIDIA but im not sure how to figure out exactly whcih kind.
