I'm having issues with new themes, probably just glass themes, when I open a folder, the rectangle where files should show up is blackened instead of transparent. In Gchrome the search field is black, but the start menu works fine.

View 0 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days, if not a week now, I've noticed that when I switch to Basic theme for RAM intesive programs like Adobe After Effects, Windows is quite slow, almost running as though my laptop is 1GB not 2GB RAM.Though when I switch to Aero theme, Windows is only slightly slower with Adobe After Effects running. My laptop is Compaq Presario CQ56, 2GB shared graphics and I can't explain why the Basic theme is running slow whereas Aero is responding faster, so much so, programs tend to stop responding more frequently on Basic. I have run MSE, MBAM and SAS (MSE realtime, others are standalone mode) and found no viruses and I update them all either daily or every two days. I only have Realtek Audio and MSE on Startup so I can't figure out why this happening!

The main thing is when I go to personaization, there is no option to enable transparancy and aero themes are greyed out. I followed some advice on microsoft sites, did some enabling services and registry things, but it is still not there. I cannot even restore to an earlier time because it says a restore piint hasn't been set. I actually JUST upgraded to professional right before I did this.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm using clearscreen's theme file but not the explorer.exe that came with it, instead i'm using glow air final's explorer.exe, because it gives better looking start button. Everything would be ok if the taskbar would be more transparent. Even thought the transparency is set to max in the window color settings, the taskbar is not that transparent. I think it's because of the theme file. My question is - how to edit the theme file so the taskbar is more transparent?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have two applications. One is a game, another is a helper (sadly, not updated any longer). The helper program modifies the title bar of the game with some stats.
It displays correctly in XP, when I have Aero turned off and when I have clicked "Disable Desktop Composition" in compatibility, but not when Aero is running.
I'd like to disable aero (or just the titlebar transparency) for only this program but keep Aero running for everything else, is that possible?
I have a PC with a ATI graphics card ( ATI Radeon Xpress 200 ) in windows 7..And i noticed that the aero affects and transparency doesn't work..troubleshooting shows that the if the driver was compatible with WDDM it could work...can any one help me get that driver The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). When i play gunbound everything is fine, no lag at all because its kinda a kiddie 3d game.
but when i play combat arms and rakion i lag REALLY BADLY!
i just ordered a 1gb stick of ram and web pages and applications work great.
so i want to know what graphics card i need. ( i also need to know witch one will fit my pc and will work with windows 7 transparency mode, or aero? is it called, im not sure. )

There is alot of stuff in here. I'd be interested in seeing if custom styles would work and how much we can edit without breaking it.
I don't care about the taskbar style, all i want is my desktop to look like that when i minimize everything, the clock and all!,I found the picture in an old thread on a forum and the user doesnt go there anymore.

It doesn't have to be necessarily the Mac theme, but anything around that look is acceptable.
I am fine with tweaking the explorer.exe, and some system32 files.
Any suggestions, comments and questions are always welcome.
P.S. I just got tired of the round look of any window.
For a desktop theme the i saved a theme right? then i got a new background and the first one was saved, but i save the second one and every background i choose it makes a "default" background and it overrights the second save. How are you suppose to save a theme without it being overwritten?

I finally turned it off, but now it is using a default theme even though it says I am using the custom theme. Help/Troubleshooting is useless since it only helps you turn aero on.I tried downloading and installing a theme pack. It didnt work.

I try clicking "Window Color and Appearance" except it only gives me an error "there was a problem loading pre-set color." Also when i click "them" nothing happens, no sign of loading. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just turned on my pc today and the windows 7 basic areo theme came up insted of the top quality theme and when i opened ie9 i noiced the greyt theme was comming up on the windows, then another 30 seconds later the bottom bar when all grey, i went o controll panel and it has greyed out the areo theme (blanked it out so i can click on it) , i have been on some other sites and they are telling me to trouble shoot it witch i have, but windows can't find any problems at all.
