I don't care about the taskbar style, all i want is my desktop to look like that when i minimize everything, the clock and all!,I found the picture in an old thread on a forum and the user doesnt go there anymore.
View 2 RepliesFor the past few days, if not a week now, I've noticed that when I switch to Basic theme for RAM intesive programs like Adobe After Effects, Windows is quite slow, almost running as though my laptop is 1GB not 2GB RAM.Though when I switch to Aero theme, Windows is only slightly slower with Adobe After Effects running. My laptop is Compaq Presario CQ56, 2GB shared graphics and I can't explain why the Basic theme is running slow whereas Aero is responding faster, so much so, programs tend to stop responding more frequently on Basic. I have run MSE, MBAM and SAS (MSE realtime, others are standalone mode) and found no viruses and I update them all either daily or every two days. I only have Realtek Audio and MSE on Startup so I can't figure out why this happening!

There is alot of stuff in here. I'd be interested in seeing if custom styles would work and how much we can edit without breaking it.
I am looking for any Windows 7 Theme that includes changing the looks of any window that exemplifies the architectural look of a Mac: sharp edges, and boxy buttons, and colored scroll bars. It doesn't have to be necessarily the Mac theme, but anything around that look is acceptable.
I am fine with tweaking the explorer.exe, and some system32 files.
Any suggestions, comments and questions are always welcome.
P.S. I just got tired of the round look of any window.
For a desktop theme the i saved a theme right? then i got a new background and the first one was saved, but i save the second one and every background i choose it makes a "default" background and it overrights the second save. How are you suppose to save a theme without it being overwritten?

I finally turned it off, but now it is using a default theme even though it says I am using the custom theme. Help/Troubleshooting is useless since it only helps you turn aero on.I tried downloading and installing a theme pack. It didnt work.

I try clicking "Window Color and Appearance" except it only gives me an error "there was a problem loading pre-set color." Also when i click "them" nothing happens, no sign of loading. I'm fine with the default windows 7 aero theme, except i'd love to install windowblinds 7 again (this will be my first time installing windowblinds 7 on this new installation of windows 7, so it's not a pre-installation of windowblinds 7 that causes my personalization options to go away.ps: i think this problem began when i installed deskscapes and dreamscene (2 programs that allow your background to be a video) I have uninstalled both of them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just turned on my pc today and the windows 7 basic areo theme came up insted of the top quality theme and when i opened ie9 i noiced the greyt theme was comming up on the windows, then another 30 seconds later the bottom bar when all grey, i went o controll panel and it has greyed out the areo theme (blanked it out so i can click on it) , i have been on some other sites and they are telling me to trouble shoot it witch i have, but windows can't find any problems at all.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I'm a new Windows 7 user and I've noticed that last night when I left the computer on my taskbar's changed from grey to lightblue somewhere during the morning. Also, when I hover over or click the icons on the bar (say firefox), it no longer shows small samples of the windows/maps, but instead just shows the name of the map/program/window (the normal old xp style).
Then after a bit of time on the computer, the screen suddenly flashed and the taskbar was back to gray again and everything became how it was before. Why the hell is the computer/windows 7 doing this by itself?

View 11 Replies View RelatedYesterday, seemingly out of nowhere, my theme started messing up. I noticed the scroll bar in google chrome looked like something from windows classic, and some other windows had the same look to them. I thought maybe I'd accidentily changed the theme or something, so I right-clicked the desktop and chose "Personalize", but all themes other than Windows Classic themes were greyed out and I was unable to click them. I hadn't installed/uninstalled anything that day.I checked services.msc and sure enough the "Theme" service was turned off, but it was still set to automatic. So I turned it on, and a few minutes later it turns itself off again.I've tried a system restore to about 5 days before. I've run virus/malware scans, they found nothing. I've rolled back my video drivers, and nothing has worked. Other things to note are that it seems like only some stuff is classic. The task bar still has the aero look to it, but blacks out in some parts. The actual window appearance of windows seem to still use aero, while the inside looks classic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I downloaded a bunch of wallpapers to get a nice shuffle going on. Went into personalization and checked everything I wanted to get shown in the shuffle and saved it as its own theme.
The problem is that after I run programs (games, mostly - usually L4D, but just five minutes ago, Oblivion as well) the theme will have somehow switched to a new, unsaved and modified theme that is just fixed on whatever background I had up before running the program.
It's really just a minor annoyance, as I I just have to right click->personalize and select my saved theme again, but still - anyone know why it would be messing with my shuffle custom theme?

View 0 Replies View Related- I've tried installing several different Windows 7 Visual Styles (themes) and while some haven't worked, many others have, including the one I'm using now.
- One part of the theme I can't get to work, however, is to change the navigation buttons in Windows Explorer. I know they are stored in ExplorerFrame.dll
- I have found that there is one version (1.77MB) in the System32 folder under Windows and other one (1.42MB) in the SysWOW64 folder, also under Windows.
First, I've tried following different theme instructions by 1) Taking ownership of the file, 2) renaming the default file to something like ExplorerFrame.old and 3) Copying the appropriate (x64 vs. 32-bit) ExplorerFrame.dll from the them into the appropriate directory.When I restart the computer nothing has changed. I have also tried downloading a theme changer that allows you to change the bitmap file associated with the navigation buttons. Even after changing Windows still only shows the standard ones.
