My computer is only a couple weeks old. I use the latest version of Firefox and today it keeps freezing up. It will just say Not Responding. I've rebooted several times and it's still doing it. Not sure what else to do.I'm not very techie.
View 12 RepliesEvery time I am browsing with firefox it freezes up randomly. But most of the time when using hotmail. I am running firefox 8.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Processor: intel core i3 processor @3.07 Ghz.
RAM: 2x2.0 gb = 4.0 GB
Now I have found out that it is most likely the cause of all the plugins so I will post a list of all the installed plugins. Though most of them I do not remember allowing them to install.
The enabled plugins are:
- 2007 microsoft office system
- bank e-dentifier
- adobe acrobat
- divx web player
- google update
- itunes application detector
- windows media player
- nexon game controller
- npffapi
- quicktime
- realplayer plugin
- shockwave flash
- silverlight
Disabled ones are:
- BYond stub
- divx vod helper
- getplus for adobe

- java deployment toolkit

- Yahoo application state
Exensions are:
- Adblock plus
- Element Hider
- Final Fantasy Radio toolbar (which I wanted)
- Zonealarm security toolbar
Around once a week, Firefox freezes (sometimes when I'm away and sometimes when I'm using it) and Windows returns an ApphangB1 error on my laptop. I also occasionally see an ApphangB1 error when using Word and Explorer[CODE]

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't affect anything but my browser. What happens is this: Once I get into Firefox any bookmarks I try to select only responds to multiple "Reloads". Nothing else in the system has non-response like this. I've uninstalled the software and reinstalled the software to no avail. View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to solve my problem with "Not Responding" browser. My browser is Mozilla Firefox 18.0.1 (latest as of this date). When I browse using it, it starts normally but after a minute or two, the browser starts to "hang" and above the browser window, a "Not Responding" message shows up after the Mozilla Firefox name. This makes my PC slow down, and even opening the Task Manager takes a minute to show. But, if I wait, it will return to running status. It just too annoying to have this problem everytime I do browsing. I already uninstall and reinstall the browser but problem persists. I don't know if Mozilla Firefox is the problem, I have some doubt because I use this a long time before this problem occurred.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated to Firefox 18. If I go to Windows' Control Panel and then click on "Uninstall a program", both Firefox 18 and Firefox 15 show up in the list of programs. Should I just leave it as it is, or should I uninstall Firefox 15?
By the way, I updated to Firefox 18 through Firefox's update feature, if that helps.
After installation, in IE8, I can initiate a file download and it will proceed to DL the file but upon finishing, the file disappears from the saved location. I then installed Firefox from a flash drive without issue but when I DL a file in Firefox, it also proceeds to DL the file but upon the end produces an invalid file with 0 bytes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running Win 7 64bit and this past week I started getting BSOD restarts several times a night, mostly when using Firefox 5. I just uninstalled/re-installed it and got a blue screen 20 minutes later. The message that pops up after the restart shows two files, one a minidump but I don't know what to do with it. I've updated my graphics drivers, Windows update, scanned with Windows SE and Malwarebytes with nothing being found. I don't know what steps to use to start diagnosing the problem.

Stopped using FF and have been using IE 9 for the last month and have not had one BSOD since, but I really hate IE. I decided to not use WINDOWS FIREWALL CONTROL and deleted it from my computer (there was no uninstall entry). Now even though FIREFOX and MAILWASHER PRO is listed as being allowed by the Windows firewall I can not access the Internet. Should I use the system restore feature or am I missing something else. If I turn off the firewall I have access but of course that is not an option I want to go with

When I try to play any live streams or any media files online, that could be played using WMP, Firefox always shows I have to download the WMP 11 PLUGIN though WMP 12 is the default player in Windows 7. However, it works with CHROME.
