Use The Tab Shortcuts For Opera Like Firefox?
Aug 16, 2012To go to tab number 2, I want to be able to pres ctrl 2 and arrive at tab 2, but it just goes to bookmark 2.

Programs Shortcuts Showing Explorer Shortcuts
Nov 19, 2011When I start Windows, Explorer always starts on it's own. The view downloads box pops up, showing this:
[URL] And asks me whether to open it or save it.
Now all of the icons on my desktop and the start menu are Explorer shortcuts although they are completely different programs.

Feb 24, 2009i needed to make an clean installation of windows 7 and the only one i could get so fast was one with some programs added already, one of the programs was opera which i didn't like so i uninstalled it with "youre uninstaller 2008" and installed fire fox, so far no problems.
now i needed flash player 10 in order to install norton 2009, so i installed flash player 10 (direct link from the adobe website), but norton still gave me the error that it wasn't installed, i looked up and found this,
don't know if you can see it but flash player tries to install it on my opera folder, which isn't there anymore and it fails then it installs an uninstaller and say's its finished.
so i guess opera has left some system files in my computer so flash player thinks its still there and won't install the right way.
Anyone knows a solution to this problem?

Jan 28, 2012I am going to build a new system. It will have a 120gb ssd and 1tb hdd.I usually use the computer for various graphic programs and gaming. Until now i used to have only hdds on my systems, I used to partition them usually like this: c:windows d:various program files and user folder e:graphic programs and their scratch f:games g:storage (projects, videos, pictures, etc).i have decided to get an ssd drive now because I understand that it boosts the overall performance of the system. All the other information that I read about ssd was either irrelevant or too complicated to understand.I am looking for an advise on my new build. Obviously I will use the new hdd for storage but about what I should do with the ssd I am not entirely sure.First of all, should I make partitions on it or this will affect the performance?Second, except for the win system files what should I put on it? Will graphic programs or games benefit from that or should I install them on the hdd? I also read that I should put the temp folders on the hdd for brtter performance is it correct?

Jan 20, 2012I haan issue before about product key got it solved, but didnt do the laptop clean. I know maybe thats why im having so many problems now, but I have no ack up right now and it was my fault for resetting the laptop back to a restore point back in ocotber when it wasnt working. For those who dont know , I told it to a repair center, they wiped it and installed a trialversion of windows 7 I managed to get my product key now, so Im really not sure why I have all these viruses pop up msgs, Ive been using all the reccomended security protections.Iwould like to- I cant open any web browsers at all, Im typing this msg from realplayer. But even when I type in an address bar I cant access theinternet through there either, for some reason only through real player.
Mozilla wont open at all, opera tries to open a msg manges to pop saying 'opera in not default browser' etc, but goes after litrelly 2 seconds. I just tried openening IE it opnened, then froze , than crashed now it wont open at all.Opera wont let me delete it, my broiwesers were working fine since I dl opera its been maybe 1-2 weeks since than so how can it be that. Problem 2-Right now its very difficult to type this messege, no matter where I type on my laptop, internet, wordpad, MS Word etc the lines get all mixed up. Say I typed 3 sentences, the last sentence Im writing will go to the top or a few words will for some reason go in the middle of the paragraah or the beggining without me doing anything!Ive been having problems with my laptop for a while now. Opera 11.62 + Slow Speed Dial?
May 4, 2012I have speed dial set as my start page. I've got 9 sites on Speed Dial. I don't use custom pics, although I do use a custom skin.Every now and then when opening Opera, it 'freezes' at the Speed Dial tab for 3-7 secs before displaying all tabs/windows. When it 'freezes', all tiles are the + symbol and are blank.Once it 'unfreezes', all is normal.It seems to happen sporadically upon a new start. Once the browser is open, the issue does not reoccur.It's been going on for the last 3 weeks to a month - same version, same skin.Basically, one day it just started happening without any changes to the browser. Prior to this, it loaded instantly 100% of the time.I've cleared cookies/cache the normal way and it's still happening. I've culled a few sites from speed dial without a positive result.

I have Opera 12 installed on 2 other computers (one with Windows 7 64 bit and the other w/XP) and the browser opens within seconds. The delay is only happening on the wife's computer. I changed no settings on Opera when I installed the upgrade to 12 so I am guessing it is the PC that is causing the painful delay. I un-installed it twice, installed it once to her SSD and then again on her HDD and there was no change in the startup delay-it is driving me crazy.

Jul 17, 2012After I went on holiday, all my browsers stopped working.IE and chrome just dont start at all, and Firefox and SeaMonkey(I even tried that one!) give me the error that the Microsoft Registry Server stopped working.Opera is the only one that still works, but I can't get comfortable with it.Firefox Safe mode does work, only when I choose to delete all my data of Firefox(all settings, bookmarks, saved passwords and cookies) normal Firefox starts, only for 2 times when I have to do it all over again.They all stopped right after my holiday, and I didn't change anything.I've already tried reinstalling chrome and firefox several times, clearing all data for IE, restoring to a previous point, but nothing seems to work.

The additional steps are: click File-> click Open MIDIet File...-> hightlight opera-mini-6.5.26955-advanced-en-us.jad-> click Open-> click Start.I have been told it is possible to eliminate all but the last step (Start) by adding appsopera-mini-6.5.26955-advance-en-us.jad to the file path but I cannot get it to work. When I do this and click on the shortcut a small black window flashes then disappears and nothing else happens.Would anyone have any thoughts on how I can reduce the number of steps to open Opera Mini?

After Installing Firefox 18, Firefox 15 Still Shows In "Uninstall"
Jan 10, 2013I recently updated to Firefox 18. If I go to Windows' Control Panel and then click on "Uninstall a program", both Firefox 18 and Firefox 15 show up in the list of programs. Should I just leave it as it is, or should I uninstall Firefox 15?
By the way, I updated to Firefox 18 through Firefox's update feature, if that helps.

Dec 10, 2012I have just gotten a new computer with Windows 7 Pro installed on it, and am going through the learning curve. I have two questions with respect to shortcuts that are created -- usually via the drag & "create shortcut here" option.
1. Is there a way to make the arrow smaller, or if not then is there a way to make it disappear? It is taking up about 1/4 of the icon picture.
2. Is there a way to not have the words "shortcut to" appended. I can always do a rename, but that is a bit of a bother.

Mar 13, 2009Upgraded from 7048 to 7057 today. I have 2 LCD monitors running off a Nvidia 7800 GTX.
After it finished, all my desktop shortcuts were on the secondary monitor (left), and I can't move them to the primary monitor (right).
I can open programs and move them to either screen, and the taskbar will work on either screen. Gadgets work fine on either screen.
I can't create a shortcut or a new file on the primary monitor on the right.
I was using UltraMon 3.0.4, and tried uninstalling it, and installing an older version, with no improvement.
If I make the left screen primary, then I can create & move shortcuts to either screen. However, using UltraMon puts the taskbar & extended taskbar on the same (left) screen.
Booting into Vista 32 or Windows 7 64 shows both screens working ok.

May 1, 2012I have a friend with the same problem as I found by searching "Mydocuments and local user setting have all disappeared" but when we checked the hidden box, she can see the main folders but all of the files - docs pictures excel files - are gone. The folders all appear empty but she can open them from Recents and the show to be in her previous folders that are now gone. She had several pop ups that was telling her the C drive was corrupt and windows files were missing so I had her unhook the internet and they went away. Her Norton had run out so she was going to uninstall it and reinstall the version that came on CD so she was unprotected for a few days. but when she ran the new Norton and did a scan, all it showed bad were the cookies. We also downloaded Ad-Aware and scanned for spy junk and it showed nothing. The PC is an HP but I don't know more right now. It is only 2 months old. I am going to her house in the morning to see what I can find out but if you, saint19, see this tonight, can you give me any pointers on where to look? Her desktop image went away along with all the shortcuts except Recycle Bin, MS Word and Excel.

Dec 22, 2012I am tired of having to fix a pc for my family. Therefore I decided to create two seperate non administrator accounts next to the default administrator account. On my last install this worked fine. If someone wanted to install software the system would popup and ask the administrator password. For some reason after a fresh install the newly created users can't even delete the adobe reader shortcut from their desktop. I guess the rights management is setup differently. How do I fix this?

WIN + T – With the new taskbar and the way apps dock there, this shortcut will open the preview of each of the apps running in the taskbar. No need to hover the mouse over the taskbar any more!
Ctrl + Shift – This shortcut will launch any application that is docked on your taskbar with elevated privileges.
WIN + Space – This shortcut will make all windows transparent and allow you to see the desktop. Release it and return back to the current window.
WIN + P – Need to connect to a projector or external monitor on your notebook? This shortcut will do the trick! You can also use WIN + X to open the Mobility Center and do it from there too.
WIN + Home – Got a cluttered desktop? This shortcut will minimize all the windows on the desktop with the exception of the active one.
WIN + Arrows – There are a load of shortcuts that utilize the arrows. WIN + Right Arrow will dock the windows to the right while WIN + Left Arrow will dock it to the left. WIN + Up Arrow will maximize a window while WIN + Down Arrow will minimize it.
WIN + Shift + Arrow – In conjunction with #6 once you have the windows docked you can move them to other monitors in a multi monitor display. WIN + Shift + Right Arrow will move it to the right. I think you can figure out what the Left Arrow does!
WIN + +/- - OK I know I said seven but this one is cool too. WIN + + will zoom in and WIN + - zooms out!

Oct 30, 2011after several days of cleaning up a clients laptop of around 150 viruses, i think it's now clean. But as always, viruses have effects after they have been removed, and in this case its that it has removed all the links to programs in the all programs list.All the folders are there, but no links inside them. I have been googling this for multiple hours and the only thing i have found is to restore them using a folder called 'smtmp', well this laptop doesn't have a folder by that name anywhere on the laptop. Also i have ran Unhide.exe.
