Opera 12 Takes 15-17 Seconds To Start Up

I can check Windows 7 64 bit to see what the problem is? I have Opera 12 installed on 2 other computers (one with Windows 7 64 bit and the other w/XP) and the browser opens within seconds. The delay is only happening on the wife's computer. I changed no settings on Opera when I installed the upgrade to 12 so I am guessing it is the PC that is causing the painful delay. I un-installed it twice, installed it once to her SSD and then again on her HDD and there was no change in the startup delay-it is driving me crazy.

I've been running this system just fine until recently when this problem with the right-click menu started. Actually, it is a problem specific to the "New" portion of the right-click menu in Windows Explorer. I can right-click a blank portion of an Explorer window and I get the usual instant pop-out menu; but, if I click "New", it takes a full ten seconds to respond. For ten seconds, it is as though I didn't click at all, then the "New" nested menu appears and everything works as normal. If I impatiently click several times in a row during that ten seconds (on "New"), everything grays for the rest of the ten seconds, then the Windows Desktop redraws completely and I have to start over again trying to use the "New" menu.

When one of my Exec's laptops boots to Windows 7, he presses CTRL ALT DEL and the screen does not return the login box until 15-20 seconds later. Then he can login fine.He is part of a special OU so he does not get the Windows Updates that the rest of our users receive.I took an image of his machine and dumped it to his idenitcal backup machine and the same behavior occurs. If you boot to safe mode w/networking, it DOES NOT behave that way and brings the logon box immediately.He uses the machine on our domain and when he takes it home on his personal network.He also has 1 mapped drive which resides on his home network, but I'm not sure if he experiences the same thing when he's docked @ home.If I login and then log out, the behavior doesn't happen. It only happens when I restart or boot from shutdown. This behavior also happens whether or not he's wired into the network or not.
I was going to try System Restore but since there are no restore points since this was a cloned image. I've got a strange one here. I work for a small IT business that builds PC's for home consumer use. We have a standard computer build that we make and sell that performs fine. (Win 7 64 bit Pro,asus f1a55-m lx plus r2.0 mobo, AMD a8-5600k proc, Radeon HD 6000 onboard video).
We've built hundreds identical to this, but this morning I came across one that had a peculiar problem. Any time you go to change the monitor's resolution (on any monitor), the timer for it to revert back if it goes out of range is set at 7000 seconds (as opposed to the standard 30). I've never before come across something like this. I looked through every configuration setting known, and exhausted my google resources as well. I can't find anything at all on this subject.

At this point i knew exactly what had gone wrong and had a major panic attack, i thought i had lost all my precious files, which i had no backup of. Then i remembered when i first got the computer i had to burn something called Acer eRecovery manager to 3 CDs. I then loaded the CD via the Boot Menu, and from there chose to restore my system but still retain user data (rather than restore to factory settings). the 2 and a half hour procedure, i found that all of my documents had been saved. I immedietly rushed to the store and bought a external hard drive and backed up all of my documents.
Now, moving on to the problem. Well it actually a very easy problem to describe. My new computer is now 50x slower than what it used to be, and im not even exaggerating. When i first got the Computer it loaded in 20 seconds, now it takes half an hour. Before this happened, when i used to click on internet explorer it came up instantly, now when i click on it it takes a minute or so. The problem is that i literally just bought this computer, and it cost me alot of money. It worked brilliantly fast when i first got it, now after this my old laptop is even better than it.[CODE]

I've been having a problem for a while that everything is taking longer to load upMy computer startup time has drastically increased, from around 20 seconds (to login screen) to around 40 seconds. Additionally, individual programs take longer to load, too. Where Chrome used to be a nearly instantaneous load, I now have to wait around 10 seconds for it to start up and become responsive. However, after opening each of the programs for the first time (after each computer startup), closing the program and reopening it will result in a normal load time. Only the startup times have been affected; the actual performance is fine.I've already run virus scans (I have Norton Security Suite), chkdsks, tinkered with msconfig, and many others, just short of reinstalling Windows. AFter windows finally boots up, everything works fine except IE v9 that also takes forever to load a page and strangely, most of the dropdown menu items are grayed out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but the same symptoms occur. I have reset to defaults and the long load time still occurs. If I try to maximize the IE window, it hangs and never frees. Also, if I try to enter a new url in a separate tab, IE freezes and never releases and takes a while to close.
This is on Win 7 Home Premium, SP1 64-bit with IE 9.

I have an HP Z800 Workstation with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. When I start the computer it seems to be ready in somewhere under a minute after the desktop comes on, meaning there are no spinning circles the mouse moves smoothly etc. However if I try to launch one of the programs in the taskbar, Firefox, Thunderbird, it takes at least seven to ten minutes for the program to come on and be ready. At this point if I click Start>All Programs it is completely empty with no icons or folders at all in there and will be for about the same amount of time. The Start menu freezes open like that and all I can do is to wait. And wait I do because it makes it much worse if I hold in the power button and turn the computer off because then I can usually not go past that black screen that comes on for a brief second before it goes on the desktop. I have very few things that are active in msconfig so I have no idea what's going on and why the computer takes so long to start.

My mouse takes a full minute to be usable after boot. the first time this happened I did a system restore and it fixed it. It came back, I did another restore, it came back again I did it 3 more times like this. I am current on all updates. I am running a asus px658d-e board. All the drivers are up to date. I am running the most recent bios, I am using a usb keyboard and mouse. I have tried booting with the mouse in each usb port with no improvement. I deleted the mouse in the device manager and rebooted. it reinstalled the driver and the problem did not improve. I am running win 7 pro 64bit.

I got a sony vaio windows 7 64bit home premium. The problem is, pc too slow to start up. It takes about 15 to 20 mins or more.. and it's always have "not responding" in the upper left corner of the monitor.. I can't use my ms word to do some typing job co'z its pauses 5secs every time.

Bought i3 3220 (ivybridge), 2x4gb ram, 120GB SSD, CM Elite case & psuSo installed everything powered up got 4 beeps shutdownReset mobo as had been used before got 3 beepsI tried unplugging everything but cpu/fan/ramTried each ram stick in each slot etc checked cpu seated properlyTried everything i could think off got 3 beeps alwaysFinally i figured mobo might need bios update to run ivybridge chip (which was already supposed to have been done in old system) so i ditched the Z68 and ordered a gigabyte Z77-DS3H, so now all components are brand spankersAssembled everything 3 short beeps, pause, 3 short beeps shutdownSame as before unplugged everything same beep comboOnly mobo cpu/cooler/ram same beep comboWent to my office robbed some ddr3 out of my i7 system swapped it and still got 3/pause/3 beeps each stick in each slot and still the sameAnd i have noticed on power up cpu fan goes full speed for a few seconds then when beeps start it runs slowly dont know if this is relevantNow im stuckthe only components i havent swapped out is the cpu & psu, but is it possible the cpu is faulty, is this a common thing ???

windows 7 x64 on my laptop (intel core i5 @ 2.50ghz, 4 gb ram) has recently started freezing for a few seconds every few seconds, when i'm doing just about anything: browsing the web, copying files, using text redactor, etc. only the mouse cursor responds, control is back after a couple of seconds.
* the behaviour remains the same when booting in the safe mode
* there are no cpu or memory usage peaks in process explorer
* there are no hardware conflicts in device manager
* there are no critical errors in system log
* there is no antivirus active
* hardware tests (memory, etc.) do not report any errors
i suspect this has started after i've updated all the drivers from manufacturer's site, but i am not 100% sure. anyway, i do not know which driver has caused this and i cannot easily restore to the previous state.

I have a month-old Dell Inspiron N7010 Core i5 460M with 6 gigs of ram running on Windows 7. Until recently, it has been starting up in about 75 seconds. However, out of nowhere, it suddenly began starting up in between 2 and a half minutes to 3 minutes. I am completely baffled, and I do not know what is wrong. Could it have been something I installed, or is it something that is beyond my knowledge. The last things I downloaded before the problems started were Starcraft II, Need for Speed World, and Microsoft Security Essentials, but I doubt one of those is the source of problem.

i needed to make an clean installation of windows 7 and the only one i could get so fast was one with some programs added already, one of the programs was opera which i didn't like so i uninstalled it with "youre uninstaller 2008" and installed fire fox, so far no problems.
now i needed flash player 10 in order to install norton 2009, so i installed flash player 10 (direct link from the adobe website), but norton still gave me the error that it wasn't installed, i looked up and found this,
don't know if you can see it but flash player tries to install it on my opera folder, which isn't there anymore and it fails then it installs an uninstaller and say's its finished.
so i guess opera has left some system files in my computer so flash player thinks its still there and won't install the right way.
Anyone knows a solution to this problem?

I am going to build a new system. It will have a 120gb ssd and 1tb hdd.I usually use the computer for various graphic programs and gaming. Until now i used to have only hdds on my systems, I used to partition them usually like this: c:windows d:various program files and user folder e:graphic programs and their scratch f:games g:storage (projects, videos, pictures, etc).i have decided to get an ssd drive now because I understand that it boosts the overall performance of the system. All the other information that I read about ssd was either irrelevant or too complicated to understand.I am looking for an advise on my new build. Obviously I will use the new hdd for storage but about what I should do with the ssd I am not entirely sure.First of all, should I make partitions on it or this will affect the performance?Second, except for the win system files what should I put on it? Will graphic programs or games benefit from that or should I install them on the hdd? I also read that I should put the temp folders on the hdd for brtter performance is it correct?

I haan issue before about product key got it solved, but didnt do the laptop clean. I know maybe thats why im having so many problems now, but I have no ack up right now and it was my fault for resetting the laptop back to a restore point back in ocotber when it wasnt working. For those who dont know , I told it to a repair center, they wiped it and installed a trialversion of windows 7 I managed to get my product key now, so Im really not sure why I have all these viruses pop up msgs, Ive been using all the reccomended security protections.Iwould like to- I cant open any web browsers at all, Im typing this msg from realplayer. But even when I type in an address bar I cant access theinternet through there either, for some reason only through real player.
Mozilla wont open at all, opera tries to open a msg manges to pop saying 'opera in not default browser' etc, but goes after litrelly 2 seconds. I just tried openening IE it opnened, then froze , than crashed now it wont open at all.Opera wont let me delete it, my broiwesers were working fine since I dl opera its been maybe 1-2 weeks since than so how can it be that. Problem 2-Right now its very difficult to type this messege, no matter where I type on my laptop, internet, wordpad, MS Word etc the lines get all mixed up. Say I typed 3 sentences, the last sentence Im writing will go to the top or a few words will for some reason go in the middle of the paragraah or the beggining without me doing anything!Ive been having problems with my laptop for a while now. I have speed dial set as my start page. I've got 9 sites on Speed Dial. I don't use custom pics, although I do use a custom skin.Every now and then when opening Opera, it 'freezes' at the Speed Dial tab for 3-7 secs before displaying all tabs/windows. When it 'freezes', all tiles are the + symbol and are blank.Once it 'unfreezes', all is normal.It seems to happen sporadically upon a new start. Once the browser is open, the issue does not reoccur.It's been going on for the last 3 weeks to a month - same version, same skin.Basically, one day it just started happening without any changes to the browser. Prior to this, it loaded instantly 100% of the time.I've cleared cookies/cache the normal way and it's still happening. I've culled a few sites from speed dial without a positive result.

After I went on holiday, all my browsers stopped working.IE and chrome just dont start at all, and Firefox and SeaMonkey(I even tried that one!) give me the error that the Microsoft Registry Server stopped working.Opera is the only one that still works, but I can't get comfortable with it.Firefox Safe mode does work, only when I choose to delete all my data of Firefox(all settings, bookmarks, saved passwords and cookies) normal Firefox starts, only for 2 times when I have to do it all over again.They all stopped right after my holiday, and I didn't change anything.I've already tried reinstalling chrome and firefox several times, clearing all data for IE, restoring to a previous point, but nothing seems to work.
