I have a month-old Dell Inspiron N7010 Core i5 460M with 6 gigs of ram running on Windows 7. Until recently, it has been starting up in about 75 seconds. However, out of nowhere, it suddenly began starting up in between 2 and a half minutes to 3 minutes. I am completely baffled, and I do not know what is wrong. Could it have been something I installed, or is it something that is beyond my knowledge. The last things I downloaded before the problems started were Starcraft II, Need for Speed World, and Microsoft Security Essentials, but I doubt one of those is the source of problem.
windows 7 x64 on my laptop (intel core i5 @ 2.50ghz, 4 gb ram) has recently started freezing for a few seconds every few seconds, when i'm doing just about anything: browsing the web, copying files, using text redactor, etc. only the mouse cursor responds, control is back after a couple of seconds.
* the behaviour remains the same when booting in the safe mode * there are no cpu or memory usage peaks in process explorer * there are no hardware conflicts in device manager * there are no critical errors in system log * there is no antivirus active * hardware tests (memory, etc.) do not report any errors
i suspect this has started after i've updated all the drivers from manufacturer's site, but i am not 100% sure. anyway, i do not know which driver has caused this and i cannot easily restore to the previous state.
I just built a new computer and it's been running decently up until I tried playing some video games on it. When running games (e.g., World of Warcraft), my screen freezes up for one second, followed by a black screen for a few more seconds. After that, the gameplay resumes, but I'm sitting there wondering what just happened. The sound is still intact the entire time.Sometimes it occurs frequently, and sometimes I can play for an hour or more at a time without any black screens. I've been trying to figure out what has been triggering it (i.e., exploring new territory in-game, etc.), but haven't found anything conclusive.I have a feeling it has to do with my video card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 v2), but I'm not sure. I checked for overheating problems with CoreTemp, but found that the temperature was stable during gameplay. Specifically, right after the crashes I would check the temperature and see that it was average and unwavering.
Is there a way to make a start up process start with a delay of say 30 seconds via the registry? I tried software but none of them work with win 7 beta.
EDIT: If not, Is there a way to have the start up programs start in a certain order?
I am running Windows 7. After "exactly 60 seconds", when I search using Windows Explorer search box, I get the following message: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."How do I change search settings so that it will not terminate after 60 seconds? To correct this problem I have tried the following. I did a clean boot even excluding windows programs and the problem was still there. I have installed all the latest Windows 7 updates. I also tried sfc /scannow and I turned off MS security software and firewall all to no avail.
Ok this is very irritating. I dont know what causes this lag but sometimes I get this and it gets very annoying. I have no idea wat is the cause. I have windows 7 32 bit, 2GB of Ram, 3.73 GHz CPU. When I go to task manager > performance > resource monitor this is what I get:
i've had this pc for a year almost now and it just started to freeze at random moments for like 10 seconds, but after that it return to normal. it can really be annoying while watching Internet or something the sound gets really irritating. the picture stays the same, and after few seconds it just quickly rewinds in few pictures. pc config
cpu : intel core 2 quad cpu q8300 2.5ghz mother : asrock p43de3 memory : xms3 (ddr3 2x2gb) graphic : ati radeon hd 5850 supply : cx600 corsair
if anybody can help i would be grateful.... and yea i think (but im not 100% sure) the longer the pc is up and running the more often it will happen... and it happens while im watching Internet most of the time (or any streams). it doesn't happen while i'm playing any video games or anything like that (maybe it does but it is rare).... and it can happen while im on desktop just copying some files any that.
So lately I've been getting lag spikes every 30 seconds or so. They last no more than 1 or 2 seconds, but they are incredibly annoying. For example, I will be typing, scrolling, clicking something, or watching something and it will completely freeze for 1 or 2 seconds, then suddenly jump to where the screen is supposed to be (like to the tab that SHOULD be showing if I clicked on a different tab during the lag spike) [code] Everything was fine. One day I restarted my PC (I usually set it to sleep at night, but this time I had to restart) and after that I noticed the lag spikes. The only significant thing between then and now is probably reinstalling TESIV Oblivion but I do not see that being an issue. These lag spikes are not related to my web browser, as they happen even when I do not use the internet. However I DO NOT GET ANY LAG SPIKES WHILE I AM PLAYING A GAME. When my PC is dedicated to running a game I do not get any lag spikes at all. They only happen on the desktop / internet.
I think its the CPU or the RAM, My CPU is i5 3470, and RAM is Kingston 1600Mhz 4x2GB the bios set my ram to 1333 for some reason when Installed the win, I set it back to 1600 manually. and it freezes after a few hours repeatedly. here are my CPU-Z screenshots of CPU,Memory and SPD tabs, tell me if something's wrong.
I hope I'm posting this in the right sub-forum....! I've been having lag issues for about two months and I'm getting pretty tired of it.The basic problem.I get lagspikes of between 300 and 1200 ms every 20-40 seconds and this is consistent regardless of what I am doing.
[code]...
There is no apparent link between the lag and CPU or memory (RAM) usage. So I've ruled that out because these stay at the same level even during the lag.I should add that all the relevant drivers are up to date.
I started getting this problem, my computer blacks out for a few second, den it goes back to normal, den it blacks out again. again and again.Ibought this computer for like last week My computer display settings are okay.
Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Intel Core I7 3770 3.4GHZ NVIDIA GeForce GT630 2GB 16GB Ram(suppose to be 8gb, but i gotten a free upgrade from the IT Fair Comex SG) 1TB Hard Drive
laptop is running win7 x 64 bit, i have one program that opens ok but closes after about 12 second, i have this same program in my XP home laptop and it runs perfectly.his is not a virus problem , i have tried ( one at a time ) a paid for version of vipre, a free version of malwarebytes and a free version of zone alarm, all with the same result.i have opened the program when i have not been connected to the internet
At first I thought it was just online videos, but I've found that it's also when I type - Every few moments my typing will freeze momentarily, just like videos. Something is causing my computer to do this, but I have no idea what. It only started doing this recently.
i hav this friend of mine whose computer turns off itself few seconds later after turning it on,it has been running perfectly before this, until he installed another 1GB DDR2 ram..i cant figure out what the problem is.
lately i have been having alot of trouble with my pc, it crashes for about 0.5 seconds every 5 to 10 seconds and makes a weird buzzing noise which has different pitches depending on the sound of the video/game. this is only when viewing Internet videos or playing games. the games i play i am 100% sure i can handle with my pc since i have played them before this problem. if it helps, my graphics card is my brothers old graphics card which he didnt have any trouble with but my old graphics card (ati radeon hd 5670) was having a different kind of lag problem which made almost any game play slow, even 2d games. it can be stopped if i keep restarting my computer and in the end it will stop lagging for like an hour or so but then the lagging starts again please help! i will leave my computer specs below.

recently i noticed this pops up every time i start my pc and im not sure what it ioutedit forgot to mention it usally closes itself about 30 seconds after i start my pc but today it doesn't close itself and i cant end the process if this is in the wrong section im sorry i was a bit worried and just licked windows 7
Anyone else got troubles with FF freezing while writing a reply?
I've no problems with IE. I've run MSSSS. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've got the same problem whether wifi or wwan. I've, using RevoUninstall Pro, uninstalled everything down to the essentials.
my monitor display blinks or should i say blacks out every 15 or 20 seconds. it blinks for a fraction of a second. this is really annoying. i check the display settings couldn't find problem.
Ok well we had some lighting today but power did not go off, maybe made some of the things flicker for half a second. After PC shut down went to go turn it back on, would boot for a few seconds but then turn off, never got the beep from the mobo or anythings..Things i tired.
-Different power supply (same thing) -Removed CMOS and put back in (same thing) -left all but 1 ram in (same thing)
I am thinking its the mobo but i want to be 100 % sure before i go out an buy a used one, as for some reason 1366 mobos are expensive.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop. Two years old. I'll be watching a movie or listening to audio and it will stutter for 1-3 seconds every 30seconds to two minutes. I did a memory diagnosis and there was no error to be found. It only started yesterday after I uninstalled a few unnecessary programs and turned a few things off in command prompt. I undid what I did yesterday and it made no difference.
I currently run everything in admin mode. most of my games force me to. When my pc just turns on it is quick instant response time, but after running for half a day it becomes slowed.. When i click on a program to start you know how it goes to a lightey darkend screen and the yellow dialog box asking to run the program? Well this is how it works. i get a full black screen for about 15 seconds. then the yellow dialog box then the black screen again for 15 seconds. this is on any of my programs. then back to desktop then the program starts. and not even then does the program really start takes about 15 more seconds then black screen then the program starts running. BUT it still isnt.. the screen goes black, then goes to a lighter shade of black, then dark black, then lighter shade of black then the program starts time elaspes 45 seconds or so.. this is for any program.. and when this occurs the black screens i get this EEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR sound from my speakers and if something else is running say teamspeak they all disappear for that time till the program starts.
Also another way to see this issue is when i alt tab out. Takes 2 seconds when the pc is just start or before hand. now it coudl take 45 seconds to get to desktop and 45 to get back in. while this could also cause programs to stop responding and screws with the icon placement on my desktop. Another way of it showing is when i press on the start button and it takes up to 15 seconds to appear. or when i try to pull back up a web browser same amount of timeThis all start occuring after i placed in a second graphics card. although i cant understand why that woudl be causing the issue.restarting the machine is the ONLY way to get this to stop happening and it is truely fustrating i run a very high end computer.
It is the most bizarre thing. Either it goes to sleep by the timer setting or I can use the "Start button" then select sleep. It closes up properly and looks all hunky-dori. Then between 30 and 45 seconds later, it wakes up again.
I heard it happening enough last night that I had to turn the computer off. I joke that it only needs 45 seconds of sleep and is ready for work again..
For example, when I start he computer and the login screen pop up, there is a sound comming, alltho, I only hear about a second of it.To move on, It's the same in everything that includes music, like videos, mp3 (in this case Winamp) games and streaming media. The sound in every way starts after about a 2 seconds from that I press play.I have never had these issues before.nd yes, I have all the latest drivers available, disabled the buildin soundcard etc.Intel Core i7 930X58A-UD3R-Rev 2.0Asus Xonar Essence STXSamsung SSD 830 128GB
I am currently renting a laptop from Rent-A-Center, a Compaq Presario CQ62 and It Lags In anything I am doing on it. Playing Games (Portal, Half-Life 1 or 2, or any) Web Surfing (Firefox, Chrome, IE8)
I just put together a new computer last night and I am having an issue with the welcome screen in Windows 7 Home Premium. I have only done a few Google searches to find a solution, but I can't find my exact problem anywhere. The problem is that once windows asks for my login's password, I can't type for about 10 seconds. It's very frustrating, because I bought an SSD and I figured it would allow me to start windows a lot faster, but with this wait, it's almost the same.
I am using a USB keyboard and it allows me to access BIOS, etc during startup, so I don't think it's an issue with it not recognizing it fast enough. I have not installed any windows updates.
I built a computer for a friend. I used the $500 build, found here: I kept everything the same except I got a core i5-2310, and a zotac GTX 560ti, instead of the ECS(due to mail in rebate). It powered on initially fine. I installed motherboard drivers and video card drivers off the cds provided. I rebooted once, and began running windows update. I noticed performance was slow. So I checked task manager and CPU usage was at 100%, and then it just turned off. So i tried to reboot it, with no luck. I removed video card thinking that uses the most juice, and it still did the same thing. Reseated everything, put new thermal paste on cpu and still same thing. System turns on for 3-5 seconds then everything turns off. No beeps, etc. Im kind of at a loss. I did think it was odd that the PSU was only 450w, and gtx 560ti says 500 minimum. Could that be the issue with the core i5 i threw in there over the celeron g530 Edit: some odd behavior I noticed. When I pressed shutdown. It said windows is shutting down, but the PC restarted. Though that was weird.also tested with my 500w raidmax psu.
When I turn on my PC, a few minutes (can be up to 30 minutes) my PC either freezes or freezes for a few seconds then BSOD comes up for around 5 seconds, then my PC restarts. This only happens once a day, and it's only the first time I start my PC every day.
recently my computer started having this issue where it stutters. as in ever few seconds, the screen freezes and my mouse jumps. sound and video also have the stutter as well. this stutter is ongoing no matter how many or few programs i have open, even while sitting on just desktop.
what i'm working off of:
i7-2700k 8gigs of ram amd 6800 x 2 samsung 1T 7200rpm corsair 650W
all my cores are <40C, but i do notice that difference cores will randomly just to 100%. I opened up tasks manager and put update speed to fast. I and can see that my overall cpu jumps to 100% for a fraction of a second, yet indivual cores are jumping all over the place from 0 to 100 and back. i have defragged the disk and done a full virus and malware sweep with no results.
